I am studying for my Salesforce Admin Certification Exam. My exam is in a few days. For some reason I couldn't wrap my head around Page Layout, even after completing the module on Trailhead. Your video helped me so much and made me understand fully what I had taken notes on in Trailhead. Your videos are amazing, high quality, and so helpful. Thank you!!!!
@@SalesforceAdam Thank you so much. I passed on my first attempt, and your content is what really helped me! You are a great teacher! I am wishing you lots of success.
Sure thing! I'm working through Reports and Dashboards in my content schedule at the moment but will go back to the setup for sure - thanks for the suggestion and feedback! Much appreciated. Adam :)
Thank you so much. In the outro you are pointing to other videos referenced, yet I am not seeing them, or seeing them at all, are these referenced videos elsewhere?
Thanks for the content! Wanna add one feature that someone may face. This is about the required option near the field. It's only for UI, if you run a process (via process builder) this option can ignore and proceed blank, but you can manage this and make the required field on field level.
Thank you so much! You're totally correct and comments like these definitely help out others viewing the video (and for me to remember to raise this in the next video on this subject). Thanks again friend :)
Hi Adam, thank you for the wonderful video! I just wanted to say that you mentioned a few videos in this video, but the links to those videos aren't available in the cards or description. Is that intentional?
Hey Adam your content is awesome, would like to know how to hide/remove standard fields on page layout? Is there any possibility to set up field level security for standard fields, please reply !
Hi there! Yes you can BUT only if they are not mandatory. If it's required (such as Name field on Account) then you can't. Hope that helps. Play around (trial and error) and see what you find. :)
Hello, could you tell me where the configuration sets fields Display Density mode "compact "(Labels and fields are on the same line) for the record detail page? I didn't find it.
What I should do if I want to have 2 tabs, one named Details with the "Energy Audit Layout", and the other named "Details 2" with "Energy Audit Sales Layout"?
Hi, so you can do this by going to the page you want to edit, click the gear icon in the top right and click 'edit page',...this takes you into the Lightning Page Builder edit screen. If you see a message in the right side panel to 'Upgrade to Dynamic Pages' then do it!). You then need to click on the section that includes the main detail page and tab (you can click the detail tab itself too), which then shows the option in the right side properties panel to add more Tabs. Click 'Add Tab' and give it a name (you can select 'Custom' as the name if you want to free-type a name). Once that tab appears, click on it, you should see a blank section. Next, in the left panel, click the 'Fields' tab and drag into the blank area the 'Field Section' component. Once there, you'll be able to select fields form the left to drag in and create your own view for that tab. Alternatively, if you already have a layout made, you can go to the Components tab and drag in the 'Record Detail' component and choose which layout to use (although you have to edit that layout in classic mode, which is why I recommend the first approach). Hope that helps :)
Hi Adam, thank you for your wonderful videos! I have a question you might know the answer to. If an org has 2 Admins (2 users that have been assigned the standard Admin profile). Can each of those users have their own page layout? Or is this not possible?
Hi there, great question. To my knowledge the answer would be no. Page Layouts are assigned to profiles not users. The only way to achieve this is to clone the Standard Admin Profile and create a custom one and assign the other user and page layout to that :)
Hi Adam, do you have a video explaining Record Types please? I couldn't find it on your channel, or I was looking for it in the wrong place 😁 Thanks in advance
Not yet! sorry. Good suggestion though. For now, check out this on trialhead: trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/projects/customize-a-salesforce-object/create-record-types Thanks for the comments!

Dude, this is the best instructional video I've seen for anything!!
Haha - very kind to say. Salesforce tutorials are a tough thing to do a video on. I’m glad you didn’t fall asleep! Thanks Dan for the comments :)
You saved my life man! Love your tutorials
Bang-up job. Loved this and thank you!
It's back to more basics with Page Layouts, but all good stuff to know! Hope it's helpful for you :)
Your explanations are very helpful & I enjoy your delivery! I am interested in learning more about how to setup an org/users :)

In the top right where your profile icon is, click it and further down the pop out (when it loads) you'll see it near the bottom :)
@@SalesforceAdam thanks for feedback
Wellp and just like that, Salesforce had to roll out the new option to actually edit field location etc in lightning page layout editor!
What I should do if I want to have 2 tabs, one named Details with the "Energy Audit Layout", and the other named "Details 2" with "Energy Audit Sales Layout"?
