I think we underestimate what actors are willing to do to have a job. Think about it, it's generally inconsistent work on a contract basis, largely dependent upon who you know and who likes you (as opposed to how good you are). Because of that, if this is how you make your living, you will do and say whatever to get a paycheck. Not an excuse but it definitely explains why they flip flop so much.
Ain't nothing like a bunch of rich people who spent the last 10 years preaching to the audience how disgusting, racist, homophobic and all the rest we were....BACKTRACK their words like we forgot what the hell they called us and done. When the cash was flowing they didn't give a damn what we thought and now when disaster strikes and Americans as a whole should (and still are no matter what) stand together to put the pieces back, now it's all "you were right" and "we're actors, we shouldn't have had this much say in what goes on". Like a bunch of mice trying to jump ship and stay safe. If these people were genuine and stuck to their principles whether we agreed or not, a lot more people would care.

Could we have apologies to Chris Pratt and Zachary Levi after they were hounded for the grave sin of being religious?
Free speech is not the same as consequence-free speech.
We, as consumers, exercise the right to like or dislike, i.e. to buy or not to buy, any product or service that we choose, for any reason, and we never need to apologize for that.
And doesn't Chris Pratt's religion preach forgiveness, so he shouldn't need an apology from anyone who "hounded" him for any reason.

It's an urban legend that Walt Disney was frozen when he died. But can you imagine if they bring this conservative Republican who didn't want Annette Funnicello showing her belly button to the public back to life and let him see the far-left, family un-friendly company that is trading in his name?
I wonder what he'd think of the corporate structure of his company, considering it was a surprisingly small company until after he died

There was the great quote around 2000 from Catherine Deneuve when she described the mystique of the star involving only being seen on screen. Then its actually special when you see them, and only associate them with being up there on the big screen, not for being 'real people' in the 'real world'. And that was Deneuve talking about other celebrities doing things like tell-all magazine interviews or press interviews and suchlike being the thing that removed the mystique and revealing the emperor to have no clothes, long _before_ the internet became a thing.
Social media ruined celebrities. Before you only saw them on the screen, magazines and TV interviews when they had a film coming out.

Why does anyone think that any actor's "opinions" aren't written for them? They are paid to perform. Shakespeare said "All the world is a stage," so it's not a new idea.
