Becoming digital nomads in 2021 was the best decision we ever made, however there have definitely been a lot of challenges along the way, we hope this video gives you some insight into what those challenges may be and how you can avoid them.Let us know what you think down below 👇
"Digital Nomad" is such a catch-phrase now. Using it and / or calling yourself one of those folks, automatically means you are in the hip crowd, and usually rather young.
I'm so happy that you'll be a father to a child born in Thailand. May you only find happiness and be safe, with God's blessings for you both i love you
I’m 5 months in and totally agree with these points - especially burnout. Because our jobs become basically our life it’s soo easy to just ignore all the needs of your life and just work constantly. Still finding balance!
Burnout for me was so real. I was in so deep and then before I knew it a year had passed before I posted a YT video. But I’m back now and I’ve been posting consistently these last 2 months. It was really motivating to chat and reframe my goals for the next year.
My husband was a digital nomad when the word did not exist. We have been travelling on and off since 2007 and he is a software engineer. My husband luckily does not need always good internet. My husband still does his job for the same company and we can travel as much as we like. We just bought an apartment and we are now travelling for 3 months. So living the dream.
October 31st was our four year "nomad o versary" We both attest that every word here is true - you nailed it all right on the head! Been following you for a while - love the content, always valuable info! Press on friends!
I guess I am the extreme case. I moved from the USA to Europe for a tech job in 1987, traveled all over the world for work as well as vacation (we have a lot more days off here), took 6 months off to backpack through Asia, got married, had two kids, retired as of 5 weeks ago in Switzerland where I am now a citizen, now with all the free time (and resources) I need. NEVER going back to the US (especially NOW). Not sure if this qualifies as "Digital Nomad", more like "Digital Emigrant".
What time do you and Mandy go do bed each night? You mentioned that going to bed early is KEY. I'll bet! (You know what they say: Early to bed / Early to rise / Makes any man healthy, wealthy and wise!)
@@LloydandMandy SMART of you. I hate being the night owl that I am. I mean, hitting the hay at 2AM is about when I go to bed and I keep aiming for midnight, too! I keep epically bloody failing! I reckon Lyla doesn't keep you two busy bees up all night then, hey.
Realistically ,how long do you think you will last doing this? Do you ever think about that? Hope you can answer my question. I also live in Thailand (4y so far) and also from oz.
Hey Llyod and Mandy! I really loved your content and being a travel enthusiast myself I feel your videos are really helpful. We help content creators grow and manage their YT and social media by providing advanced strategies and video editing services to build their personal brands. Is it worth a conversation??
Huh, I wonder where my commentary went ... If the following is a duplicate comment, please just delete it. The term "Digital Nomad" has become almost clichéd: Calling yourselves that means you are cool, hip, usually rather young, quite go-ahead, and technologically quite literate as well. All I know are content creators, and make great videos like yours.

These suitcases are very heavy. The carry-on size is 7.7 lbs, which is about half the typical carry-on allowance!
