The Roland patches imitates very good the Simmons.
Those are the MK-II pads that came with the SDS-8 and it looks that you painted in yellow and made a mesh heads mod, try to go to a shop for logo stickers and your done.
I was and still a user of Simmons gear since the beginning, I use to have SD8-8, SDS-9 and of course the SDSV.
Sold the 8 and the 9 long time ago but I kept the SDSV and the Simmons TMI, my SDSV has 6 modules, bass, snare and four toms.
Also used to have a Tama Techstar, like it a lot, for me it was way better than the SDS-8, that was sold long time ago with a Linndrum, yeah I used to have one too.
I have complete set of pads in black (5), white(6), red(7) and blue(5) for a total of 23 pads.
Yes! A Simmons player!!!! Get ready …. These are my original white sds8 pads that I use mesh heads on with triggers. I wrap the plastic shells with a 3-m wrap. I’ve got videos on my channel doing it. To a blue Simmons sds9 I picked up. To not have to use the mesh heads on every e-kit I have. I had the sds7 and sampled my favorite sounds in to my Roland spd then I bought the Alesis dm10 for the electric drum sounds. You can layer sounds so they get really close Simmons sounds , for an older inexpensive module. I sold. My sds 9 and 1000 , sds8 and 7 brains but kept the pads. I played in an 80s new wave tribute band for years and even played standing up for the 1st 6months of that tour. 😃👍. Thank you for sharing your Simmons love and lore. I really do dig it. 👍👍👍👍.
