Would love the idea of a live workshop however an online version would be sick also for people all over the world.
YES! Into the live workshop idea, and featuring G&E and AC + AD (+ Sound ??) is a great idea to see all these departments working together would be awesome. But consider a narrative scene, rather than a commercial. Just our 2 cents.
Damn I’m from Toronto but I would love to see a cinematography course from someone like you. Most of the courses there are now revolve around having a video business or being an all round videographer (shooting weddings, corporate, social media content) but I haven’t been able to find a course that focuses solely on cinematography. Plus ur a great teacher so it would be something I think greatly benefits up and coming cinematographers everywhere!
Amazing content again as usual! and love the live event idea, could see the benefit of experiencing all of that in person
The work shop would be my dream!!! I’m from Kentucky and I’m salty that I’m not from Philly ! That sounds extremely interesting and amazing
Live workshops are an incredible, interactive way to gain experience. I think it's an excellent idea - safety on set is a big concern, so that's something for careful consideration. And thanks for creating this invaluable mini-series :) Time to pick up an East Waves tee - I love the designs.
Love this series Carlo!
As I'm slowly getting on bigger sets/projects I'm learning just how much proper Pre-production is crucial
Dear Yuval, what about creating your masterclass on this side of the globe? would be so much excited ;)
YES , to the workshop !
The idea of a live workshop sounds amazing! It would be good to start off with a live one so that you can get the hang of things. I would love to join but i’m overseas . I hope that you could hold online workshops in the future too! 🙏🏼
Hell yes that work shop will be sick definitely would attend
Would be cool for you to make a video comparing your new sony venice to something like an fx3, and compare how side by side shots/frames look between the two cameras and display that cinematic shots can be achieved with budget friendly cameras and maybe instill some confidence in beginning film makers who can’t afford the big budget rigs :)
Agreed! Would love to see this
Would be nice to see but It wouldn’t be that huge of a difference. Sure the Venice will have a better bit depth, dynamic range, detail/tonality, color, less in camera noise reduction etc. If the cinematography is nice, both cameras will look nice but do to how expensive the Venice is the image will look better (theatrically speaking)
No it wouldn’t be cool to do another comparison/lighting video. A DP’s per production process is arguably more important
Valuable Gian Carlo, thank you so much for all your advices!
Great series 🙌🏻 and would definetely love to attend the workshop Carlo!
Just Finished the first one and happy I have received the notification of this video. About the live training I wish I was from the location I would have attended it because your content is powerful but am from Uganda
If you like that yerba mate flavor you should really have some old school mate. I'm from Argentina so I can't recommend it enough.
Excellent series!
This weekend a good friend (who studies cinematography) of mine showed me a very well writen and produced add. In was in the first second that I realized it was the commercial you shot with ture classic tees. I was soo happy to show my friend your behind the scenes of this production and we were watching you video once more and were analycing everything you showed and spoke about. It gave us some great insights. thanks again !

Loving these videos!
Yes this would definitely be awesome!!! I think being able to see the technique/ problem solving on set etc
Thank you for this series! And yes PLEASE do that workshop. Would be super helpful!
nice... great inside!... even for ppl that do work in production it's nice to hear a few new things and also get a "refresher" of the essential stuff :D cheers!
Yes count me in.
Can’t wait for the next episodes as I am currently in a pre production meeting now finaliszing our story. Looking forward for more like this l, Gian! All the hard work and efforts making this is highly appreciated! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Definitely Do the Workshop bro !
Yeah I feel like the workshop would be great also a great way for people to get connected with other filmmakers
Excellent stuff dude. You're very engaging and easy to follow. You're slowly become a new favorite UA-camr for me. Would also love more ''day in the life'' stuff, big fan of behind-the-scenes videos and photos.
Yes a live work shop would be awesome. Definitely would come out.
Carlo! Loving the series my friend, really happy to see your growth. If I may add a little bit to what you said to give the Ad Agency perspective. The location scout per se is done to show the options to the client, once the client signs off on a location, then that's the moment when we do the Tech Scout so that the core team on the ground can see specific needs, etc. Ahead of the big pre-pro meeting. Hope this helps your audience. All the best my dude.
Workshop idea sounds dope to me!
Yes, I would absolutely attend your live workshop! I live in Philadelphia and this would something I need as I am trying to learn all I can about this industry I love.
When it comes to courses, I think you nailed it by having professionals from specific roles teach what they know. There are so many online paid courses that are only taught by one person which can be good but often doesn't get into the specifics enough and provide detailed information about what can happen on set. For example, if I want to learn to be an AC I want to listen to a professional AC not the DOP's perspective on his ideal AC because they are going to provide much more insight. Workshops would be great!
Love the series. Very informative.
This is a fantastic video. Look forward to seeing more in this series. Many thanks.
More to come!
Would love a live workshop. Way better than an online course.
Hey Gian 👋 been following and watching you for the past few months now. I would just like to thank you for putting out quality information every single time not a lot of "youtubers" in the creative scene share valuable information about the things that we love to do. Looking forward on your future episodes 👌 also if you do have time maybe we can get in touch we'd appreciate your insights we are putting up our own small production house (2 man crew)
Cheers brother!
Carlo, that workshop you are planning would be great for all of us learning, but isolated from the actual world of moviemaking.
I found you channel this week and loving it.
Great vibe of your crew on set.
I would love to be in your workshop. I'm currently taking a DP course. Sadly I'm in São Paulo/Brazil , so a online version would be a great option for people outside the US.
Heyyy Carlo, I've been binge watching all your content and i have learnt so much from you. I have huge passion for cinematography I was so happy when I found your channel. Love the idea of live workshop, it would be a dream for me to have the opportunity going on sets and learn from everyone. I'm genuinely jealous of ppl who get to attend your workshop, pleaseeee make online courses of this too, I won't miss it. And thank you for all these amazing contents, you are amazing.
I’m literally on my way to a location scout 😂 thanks for this.
Have fun!
I’ll be there!
I live in NJ and I would love to be a part of something like this! Re instilling key knowledge would be amazing
Appreciate your viewing audience from entry level to professional. Second, appreciate like you many of us work or busy and a physical visit is out of the question. That said, a "Master Class " / Virtual class course in advanced grip, lighting.. effects of light.. tools involved so forth would be wonderful. Biggest challenge for me is using the right light, rig .. so forth to achieve the effect that supports the story or message. Thanks for asking.
damn i wish i was in philly. a live workshop sounds amazing 😩
Dude I would totally go to that workshop
A live event like this would be amazing it would be great if this could be streamed for those who wouldn’t be able to attend in person
🔥🔥🔥
I would definitely be down for the workshop in philly!
Definitely
Nice one, I have used Sun seeker for many years and is well worth it..
It really is!
So much good stuff to take away, even tho my current productions are way smaller!
That course sounds amazing but i live in Switzerland and won‘t make it 🤷🏻♂️
Man I'd love attending that workshop, but unfortunately I live in The Netherlands, so it would be a long shot. A live stream where I could ask questions in a video call or chat would be amazing aswell though.
Same here. I come from Germany and would love to be part of it. A live stream or video of the whole thing would be great.🙏
Nice one Gian. Pre-production is like 90% of the full production. I'm hoping new filmmakers understand this.
Great video Carlo! I would attend a live workshop
I absolutely love the idea of a workshop! I live in the Philadelphia area and would 100% attend and would pay to be a part of it. I own a video production business, and I've been really wanting to learn how to scale to bigger productions like the ones you've been on, but I'm just not sure the right way in building/managing teams, processes, etc. For those that don't live in the area, perhaps you have a few BTS videographers to capture the full day, that act more of a fly on the wall as if someone was attending in-person.
One problem that I found is that I'd love to be able to go on bigger shoots to learn more, but it's difficult in the sense of HOW since I'm not necessarily freelance or a full-fledged DP or cinematographer. Having a workshop that is similar in style would be great.
Keep up the amazing work and content and looking forward to hearing more!
Am from Kenya and would love to be apart of that workshop, my distance though would be a hindrance to being there but I still think its better to do a live workshop as well and I support that, go for it.
Would love to attend such a workshop. Count me in!
Deal!
Totally down for the workshop
Workshop sounds dope
Yeah
Thanks!
As a DP local to Baltimore/DC I would love to come by for an in-person workshop!
personally I would be interessed to have insights into how to deal with the business side, how to find jobs and clients, how to keep up good relationships with producers and director and also when it is a good idea to work very closely with agencies. cheers.
I’m from Cali and am a beginner cinematographer but would love to come to Philly for that experience
Could potentially make the trip from NY to Philly for the workshop! How could I stay beat up to date with updates on it if you do end up doing it?
I come from Germany and would love to be part of it. A live stream or video of the whole thing would be great.🙏
Would love to attend if there is an online version!
Love the idea of a live broadcasts, I’d join everyone. Something I’ve always wanted to better understand is the process for creating a shot list from a script. It would be awesome to watch how a script is transformed into a shot list, and how the shots are created to visually tell the story of the script. Any chance of creating content around creating the visual story telling aspect?
Would love to attend a live workshop!
Would love an in-person workshop
Very helpful, did you go to from school?
please make a dedicated video on light meter and how to use them
hi Carlo, a cinematography course as you describe would be certainly great for "beginners", and for those who have more experience like me, i would imagine a personal masterclass, lets say a 3 days project maybe....for 3-4 persons max... well me personnaly : i know what a dp, a key grip or a gaffer do, i have experience in many differente situations, but i NEED an extra, and extrordianary experience and advices to get to the next level :)
lmao best intro!
I’m trying to become a full time DP too! I live in Scranton PA hopefully someday we can work together ❤
would love to attend the workshop, but I would have to travel too far! I would pay to see videos from the workshop. Greetings from central Europe.
Bro telling us about filmmaking when we really need the gym routine 😂 jk…Dope vid bro lol
Do it I’m in
If u do a live workshop please record it 🙏
Please Record this course! Greetings from Germany
Would love to attend a live workshop however an online version if possible.
I would love to come to a workshop, but I am too far away to attend.
Bro I would totally attend A workshop but too far away - A Online Course would be amazing (Even if you recorded the workshop)
Hi there ❤❤
Hello 😊
Interested in the workshop for my team
Please feature B-roll more.. during those talking head subtopics. E.g location scouting was compleatly empty..
Infact everything till then was empty too 😭💔 i amost clicked away
I’d like to See the course too but I live in Germany. Guess that’s way to far 😅
What is that? Organic Yerba Mate? Im uruguayan and i drink yerba mate all day and its not like that. OG Yerba Mate is from uruguay and argentina.
