I am just 4 months in to my 36 month journey to debt freedom...starting to feel a bit down. So what I did yesterday to help keep "my eye on the prize" was to do another budget! This time a "what if I was out of debt" budget. Wow! Super motivating! I'm back on track mentally to head in to 2023. Love all your positive content...it really helps.
I need to establish a budget habit 🎉. I want to work on lowering my grocery bill, stop wasting food, and save some money too. I'm going to take the money I save on groceries and put it in a savings account.
I freely use the refrigerator freezer for left overs. Sometimes I portion, cool, and freeze right away when something is cooked. Sometimes, I freeze when I realize I'm not going to get to the food before it spoils. Onions, peppers, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, and most fruit can be sliced and diced in the sizes you'll be using them then frozen in baggies. I used regular zip lock type baggies rather than freezer bags then use the produce within 3 months; the closer to 3 months, the potentially musher it will be and more suitable for cooking. You can "flash freeze" cauliflower and broccoli on a cookie sheet (or anything else really) once it is broken into 1" to 2" pieces as long as it is not wet (wash after thawing not before freezing); then bag it once its frozen. My goto for left overs, small amounts of gravy, sauces, veggies, bits of meat even if they aren't the same type, meat bones, limp veggies from the fridge, frozen veggies from the freezer. If you're not a from scratch soup maker, begin with a can of commercially made soup, some Bullion, or paste Bullion like the brand "I can't believe its Bullion". It doesn't take long to get the hang of it and make more and more from scratch. Still in the time it takes to boil a can of soup and in the process heat up and cook some added veggies or left overs you can be eating; even a bag of frozen veggies which are already mixed works. I like to double to quadruple the volume of a can of soup.
@@terryhenderson424 I'm always packing my lunch with leftovers. Sometimes I'll even freeze for future weeks. I have cut down on the amount of food waste but I still have room to improve.
Went to a Christmas party this week and the table pieces were gorgeous. I found out they had been purchased at Costco. Came home with the intent to buy some this coming week. Yesterday I had a little talk with myself and decided that I would not purchase them. Always a good habit to sleep on things. Often you will decide you don’t need the item in question.
I’m doing my low spend 2023. I am finishing doing a low buy 2022 where I was successful in paying extra each month on my mortgage principal. It helps keep me motivated by seeing a lower interest payment due on my mortgage each month. I didn’t buy any new clothes in 2022 to help me with this goal. My plan for 2023 is if I need a new clothes item I will buy it in a thrift store.
I have done this for years. Check stores out & ask the xustomers where they like to shop for the best quality & deals at what used stores. They'll be happy to share their knowledge. Yo u will be receiving many compliments on your knew wardrobe. 👏👍🎄🎉
My goal for 2023 is to save at least $5k in the first 6 months because I'm planning to move late summer. I need to work hard and save a lot for the expenses of moving and getting started in another state.
NO AMAZON one click purchases! HABITS! My pledge to myself.😁 Budget and Tracking, budget and tracking… I need this mantra. Period, 2023 is the turning point. Not much we have control over but our own actions. This is my self talk.👍
Habits! I usually have a 4 day/32 hour work week but decided to pick up an extra shift weekly this coming year for 2023. My husband wants to move into a different field to be an electrician, but the apprenticeship does not guarantee hours. It will also be a pay cut for a couple of years. It will end up doubling his current income after 5 years, but it's going to be a slog! The plan is to clear consumer debt and build our savings in preparation. I'm excited to have the extra push to get going on this!
Habits - I’ve just started budgeting and I’m sad to say that I’m 53 and my Hubby is 60. I suddenly realized that I had no control over my spending and neither did he. We just bought and bought and said “we needed it so ….” No more. I came to see that there is a lot more money available by making intelligent choices about where the money goes. I don’t blame either of us for the past. Moving on now and love this channel!!!
My freezer is packed with food but yet I found myself “ just picking up dinner”. Made a January commitment to spend no more than $25 week at the grocery and no eating out! Just because it’s on sale or BOGO doesn’t mean I have to buy it😊
This is one of my big issues. I'm a snivelling people pleaser and I always feel like anything I do or give isn't enough or as much or as good as what other do or give.
I decided to check books out of the library instead of buying them. 2 books this week x $15=$30 savings. Bam. Painless. Maybe I’ll sell some books I already have or exchange them at a used book store. I feel like this one move has liberated me.
I do look at pinterest several times a week and I have a friend in Greece I chat with on that site. However, I got rid of Facebook, Twitter, was never on Instagram or any other social media sites. Spend most of my time on UA-cam looking for ways to save money. I have moved Ebay and Amazon off of front page, in fact I have to swipe left 4 times to get to Amazon now, that way it's not right there to look at every day. I love this site because it keeps me motivated to save and not spend needlessly or recklessly. My Impulse buying has curbed considerably (look at all these adverbs I'm using 😄) and I find new enthusiasm here for staying on top of my finances. Thank you so much for what you do because it truly makes a difference in my financial life. 👍
(Habits) "No, Carol, it's a pain being broke!" Mwahahahahahaha!!! Amen to that, sister! I budget, not because it's fun for me (although it's way more fun now that it works, than before when I did it in a half-assed way), but because being broke is a pain and not being broke is a HUGE relief. Knowing that I can still make ends meet even at this time when everything is so expensive is a great gift to give myself. And getting my weekly dose of Kate is key to keeping my spirits up while I'm doing it. What I'm going to do in 2023 to reach my financial goals is to have four No/Low-Spend months with four Pantry Challenges running at the same time (January, April, July and October). Meal planning will help me keep to that. I am so overstocked, it's ridiculous for someone in my position to keep buying food in the way that I do. I buy so many things, not just food, that I really don't need, even now when I am becoming aware of it! Now that I have been writing down every purchase I make for so long (over a year), I'm really realising that there isn't much in my budget that is just "treats" (for me that turns out to be books on special offer at the Kindle store and sweet treats), but some of the other things I buy really aren't necessary, they're just habits. I'll be challenging those spending decisions as I go through the year - why I buy them, and to what extent I really need them. If I feel I'm spending money on a treat item (eg sweets) then maybe I still deserve the treat, but perhaps a month of a streaming TV service would be even more fun for me, without adding to the excess weight I want to be shedding in 2023? Those are the kinds of decisions I want to be making in 2023 - remembering what you said about "giving every dollar its highest purpose" in the last video. I'm also going to work a little bit longer every week and continue to look for more interesting work that pays better. AND I'm continuing to declutter - some of my books might be saleable. So - LOTS of great ideas for 2023 that should help me stay on track towards my financial (and other) goals. I'm learning better habits, bit by bit, tiny or atomic habits if you will, that give me the slight edge to take me to where I want to be in my life. Look how I've written an essay again, Kate! LOL Wishing you, Kaden, Mr H and the Girls a wonderful weekend. We have snow here so the Christmas vibe has begun early in the UK!
Happy frugal Friday 👏 Make an experiment of your inventory for short time so you are interested in it! For example, buy the same shampoo and try to stretch it out to last longer by adding water or splitting it with a cheaper version. Or try the next price down to replace it. Or look to see what you can do without and not rebuy. Then transfer or tally up the difference into an account. Keep doing that to reduce inventory and reduce what you are dependant on. It's eye opening to see how little I need to live comfortably.
I called my car ins and got it lowered 150.00. Apparently i was in a very old plan with details i didn't need. I also lowered my part of my obamacare plan. So far 260.00 down. Next I plan to address my phone provider and cable bill. Despite my massive amount of medical debt my goal is to pay off my house early. If i can pay off my home I'd have an extra 700 a month.
Habits for sure! Looking forward to no spend January. For this year my Main goal is keep heating cost as low as possible, because from January the price of gas use will double to €1,50 per cubic meter, the taxes on energy go up from 9% to 21% on my bill😭. So I cuddle up in front of TV with a woolen blanket, sleepingbag etc, go to bed early, wear outdoor winter gear inside and keep moving. Walking to friends, family or a store will be more ofthen the case. A flasks of tea keeps me company to warm up from the inside. Simple quick nourishing thick soups for dinner (make a large pot eat two days freeze two days for next week).thanx Kate for your great videos and inspiration ! I was late 😕but wish you a very happy frugal friday😃!( Neighbours needed a hand so... )
With the high price of coffee, I have started a new thing. It sounds terrible but I promise, it works! I run water through and make a second pot of coffee from the coffee grounds. Give it a try it's really not bad.
Habits!! I need to curb impulse clothes buying! I’m starting by not watching a particular boutique when they have live sales! I’m starting my no spend January early. As I had all my Christmas shopping done in November, I’m able to watch my spending, and have been good about not buying unnecessary items.
I have been very frugal and own my own home ,and have money accumulated for retirement ,,but this year coming I want to follow a budget ,,yes I have no budget ,,but I want more control ,,asI will be heading into retirement within the next 6 yrs ( well I may still work PT) and want to experience , a tight budget , I know sounds crazy but I hear so many senior people complain about not having enough money ,,scary but then this past 2 yrs has been very hard on the fixed incomes,,, I just would rather not be stressed about money in a few yrs ,,, Great video ,😊
I do errands. Buy water, coffee supplies, banking etc. It's usually about 3 orv4 hours a month in overtime. All the errands are on my way home. Drops of gas.
Habits! I enjoy your videos. I semi-retired at 58 yrs old, I am now 60 and work part-time for the health insurance instead of paying for COBRA. Although we do not live paycheck to paycheck, I still pick up shifts if I want something frivolous (usually crafting related). I am so looking forward to participating in the no-spend January challenge.
I totally need to a-line my habits with my goals. I do have savings but I also have credit card debt😢, I will reduce my spending to put more towards debt clean up. I will continue to save for my goals so I don’t lose sight of them.
Habits!! I need to make a habit a reality for me!!! I spend ages creating a budget but then I don't stick to it or track my spending! Was very hard to admit that but I really need to get back to debt busting and finding a budget that I can follow for 2023!!
Hi Kate ! Thanks for another great video - habits 🤔 I am trying to avoid buying anything I don’t absolutely need in 2023 and work to become 100% debt free again with a decent emergency fund and buying a nice upright freezer to take advantage of sales as they come- I figure that may help - I have to think that through 🙂
Habits, Habits, Habits!! Love the simple but realistic concepts in this video. I have already marked my calendar for your budget video! This past year was a little rough for me but I continue to look ahead with lots of optimism! The biggest change for me in 2022 was that I had my best friend move in with me a couple of months ago (she was in a really bad living situation) and the money she is giving me monthly for rent will all go to cover my outstanding debt. I’m hoping to be debt free by this time next year!!!!! …Except for my mortgage & car payments (I’ll work on those once my other debt is paid off). I’m focusing on using cash only at the store, cutting my food budget and lowering my utility costs. Nothing drastic but every little bit helps!
Jan 11th is my 54th birthday!!🙌💖🙌😆😁 So far, with budgeting for 2022, ive done great. Met my last savings goal of $1500 for Emergency Funds by Dec early. Got it in by Nov!!!💪💖😁 Its currently $1600. Next small goal will be to get $2000 by Feb! I document it all on like a free notepad app online. I also put like $30-75/month in my 2nd bank savings for my future Elder self funds acct, which is a high yield savings acct. Far as the COLA raise for Vet pension i get in the beginning of 2023, im acting like it dont exist....put half onto my extra principal mortgage payment and half to Emergency funds. So now it'll be $500 extra towards mortgage principal and $200 in auto-savings to Emergency funds per month. Its GO TIME IN 2023 DAGNABIT!!!🙌💖🙌😂 HAPPY FRUGAL FRIDAY KATE AND EVERYONE!!!!!😆
My goal is not directly financial, but to be food independent. I have 1 advantage but it is also a disadvantage. I live in the humid tropics so most things grow all year round but so do big healthy weeds, mould and soggy nasty food. But I am going to try growing a little bit of everything all of the time so storage is limited.
Habits ☺️ in different seasons I have to adjust my budget. I’m currently in a very tight season so I’m tightening my belt. I will get through this ☺️❤️
Kate! You create THE BEST content and we are all so grateful for your dedication and joyful enthusiasm!! Let’s do all the habits together in 2023!! I’ve just fully funded my big emergency fund - now it’s time to save extra to start paying off the house like crazy! Xx
Happy frugal Friday, Kate! I have been moving in silence the past few months, and I have quickly increase my finances, adding the EveryDollar, budgeting app to my arsenal! And now, I have two digits on the left side of the comma ! That has always been a quiet goal I have set a few years ago! Which I never told anyone, but through inspiration through your videos, and watching the older videos that you have done on the every dollar app I increase my finances and improve my budget! Thank you, Kate! Stay awesome and have a great weekend! And can’t wait for your live class on January 11!
I just started budgeting in November…. and I also LOVE it ❤️ I created my own spread sheet, check my bank account daily and track every Euro I spend … gives me a really good feeling of control and helps me to secure my saving goals despite inflation…. greetings from Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹
HABITS! Hello, Kate! I have been watching your channel a LOT in the past few months. My story is sort of like yours. I divorced in 2021 and finances alone were so scary. I am making progress and have a budget that I think is a good one, BUT I still struggle to stay on budget at times. I have added to my savings every month, but I know I can do better! I can't wait to be a part of your class. You have been my best inspiration for months now! Thanks for doing this for the K Squad! ❤❤
Habits. I am fully engaged in the No Spend January. Bought an old used refrigerator for under my budgeted amount, so that was a win. Cooking from the pantry other than fresh fruit, fresh veggies and milk. Cleaning out the fridge and canned food inventory. My 29yo son told me the other day that I need to stop looking at online auctions and buying items just to get the dopamine hit. That really opened my eyes to why I have turned to purchasing (over purchasing) online since the pandemic started. I have been buying things and sending them to my kids as a way of not seeing how much I am spending because I am not doing the accumulating. Things they have no real interest in. 😕 So, that is going to be a real money saver. And when I see something I think I want to buy for one of them, I am going to put that amount of cash into their 3 month ahead challenge that I am doing for each of the three of them this year. So excited to see how much more quickly their funds grow.
"Never tell the story until you feel the glory." That is great policy that I am glad to find out is the right choice all along. At my current job, I was promoted to a seasonal lead for Halloween and Christmas (the latter concluded last Friday). I was mostly silent about this accomplishment at home because I am exposed to a lot of negativity. Exposure to negativity can be a death sentence to success and growth.
I am starting out this year with a no spend January and creating a realistic budget. I am tracking my subscriptions and analyzing to see if they make sense for me still. I am half way through grad school to work on an increase in salary and took a part time job in October that is increasing my income. All this to work towards being debt free by 2025.
Habits!!!!!!! I have a budget. I have met goals this year that I never met before financially but I need to budget more than I’m tracking spending. and I also need to rethink how much I want to spend on Christmas next year lol !
OMG KAte, the thing about the GPS! that is me too =) great motivation. Love listening to you over the past months. I have taken all the extra opportunities I could get to help me not exceed my budget for Christmas and paying my debt.
I learned how to budget effectively a few years ago and I haven’t lived paycheck to paycheck ever since. It’s actually VERY liberating. I get excited when payday rolls around. Not so I can spend the money but so I can allocate it 😂 Gaining control of my money truly is freedom!
There are quite a few nuggets in there today, Kate. Really spot on for me right now, thank you. I was wondering if you would think about doing a video on side hustles? I know there are tons of videos out about this, but I find your approach and presentation really resonates with me. I can imagine it does with many so this might be a fun topic to explore with you. I love all the videos, your budget video got me started. Still working out the kinks, but I wait for your weekly pep talk to help keep me on track. Keep up the great work!
I am new to your channel Kate, and so glad I found you. The power of little habits is really incredible. This coming year, I am adopting no spend Sundays, reviewing my finance picture in depth once/week, quick daily accountability check of checking and visa account, keeping a list of things I want to purchase with intentional thought, and keeping a tight rein on spontaneous purchases. Thank you!
You worded it so well on budgeting being fun I feel the same way I like being in control it takes the worry away when you are in control of your money I’ve been on both sides and I definitely want to be in control
Habits!I love budgeting but am not always very good at sticking to it. I set these numbers and then kind of just spend whatever. I have a strong resolve to really cut back and stick to my budget in 2023. Also trying to do a full low spend year. And of course no spend January🎉
I have my 2023 budget set. I review my budget monthly in case something comes up. When you live n social security, you have no chance but to live within or below your means. I do get spousal support, but that goes in savings. I have a 17 year old car and she won’t last forever. With no job and only social security I wouldn’t qualify for a loan. I don’t want any payment anyway, so in 3 or 4 years, I will get another car.
I have been doing the 27.40 a day. I have put 200 in my savings the last two weeks. I also starting putting an extra 200.00 on my mortgage payment to go towards the principal. I definitely want to get on a better budget for groceries and supplies. Great video!
@@jaimeshore9989 I just calculate 27.40 x 7 days and rounded it off to 200. I have stopped unnecessary purchases( wants) and only purchase items that are needed.
@@cathyjackson8021 Thanks, Cathy. Do you put it in a savings account? I was thinking about setting up an automatic transfer every week for the $200 to go into savings or just putting the amount in my YNAB budget as a sinking fund.
More often than not we have some sort of buying list, some sort of diy list, and some sort of saving and/ or financial goals list; if nothing else to fund the buying wish and also the diy list. Often these lists are not date oriented; even less so as we age, have "stuff" and tools, and also have less disposable income. Rather they are more completion oriented and wrap around significant dates such as January 1st. Having these three lists has given us a somewhat coordinated and integrated direction of where we're going and what we're doing. Often without the formalization of a "goal" we have a set of short and longer term things we want and/ or have to do.
Re-evaluating my budget every month has helped me stay on task. Also sharing with only like-minded people about my frugal life is the support I need to keep going. My money business is "MY BUSINESS and no one else" has been a good reminder that I do not need to explain why I do not want to spend money on things that will keep me from the goals I have set for myself and my family. ???Question: What are some comments you make when you don't want to spend your money on certain items or activities without offending others or hinting that you are being frugal???? Please help me with this problem. Thanks
You can just say my money is delegated to other things right now. People shouldn't be offended they're being ridiculous. If its simply to spend time together offer your place for a potluck and a board game or a movie night. Sharing time shouldn't require spending money. Good luck I wish you the best.
We got a jump on our general goods and services plans for 2023. We are within budget but, our slush has diminished; with upto tremendous cost savings but still reduced slush. We are returning to low spend for much of the rest of December and we'll see what shakes out in January.
With our slush, we took care of one thing for ever more. Discovered a second, and used up a bit more of our slush. Got a head start on a 2023 item while investing on a pantry item or two and we didn't particularly have slush any more. Doubled down on virtually no spend except for vehicle gas, and got it for less than budgeted. It looks like a slew of smaller bills won't be hitting until the last week of December but more likely January so will be using half of those reserves to take care of 2 things on the January todo list in December. We will have lost a lot of the desired reserves at the very end of the month but will be well ahead of January budget and todos. Got excellent news Monday which will translate into a better personal and financial lifestyle in 2023 too. The "pain" of all this is that before 2023 even begins, we will be plotting a whole new world view of what 2023 is all about and a whole new plan.
To keep me focussed on savings, I have a post-it note stuck to my screen frame with my savings goal target (till March 2023) and every time I add to the savings I add the new amount to the post-it note, seeing that number get close and closer to my target is exciting and seeing it every day keeps me mindful and on track that I set this up and I don't want to fail. Stops the impulse buying for sure and no-one but me knows what that note shows. Those little visual reminders are powerful things!
Hi Kate I am new to you over the past couple of weeks.I have been watching your previous videos and you do talk a lot of sense 😊I have practiced frugal living on the whole for all my adult life ( I am 61 years young 😆) I hate debt but as you say life happens and it has happened in the past.I really want to push up the savings in 2023 so I can reach my goal of a new kitchen in 2024 🎉I am looking forward to to doing the No/ low spend January. My main tactic is to not spend as I have so much stuff.Where does it come from 🧐keep up the good work I am going to do the KATE method to keep me going.Good luck everyone❤
I'm keeping a printed Low Spend monthly chart on my wall. This is my 10th month! It helps to keep me mindful on what I'm spending money on that does not count as a necessity.
I am making a commitment to stick to my habits this 2023. It has been very hard the last 1 1/2 with being newly divorce and trying to pay off debt / maintaining just the basics for myself. I also trying keep my house until my son graduates college so he has a place to live between sessions. I will make it and I am determined to do it.
HABITS! - Went over our spending and eating out was killing us! So in January 2023 we eat out 4 times a month (we take the mom's to dinner weekly). We are shopping our home, making meals with what we have, then when there is not much left - make a list and go shopping. "What you are changing, you're choosing." - This one hit a raw nerve for me, but I walked through it and faced myself - I am sewing, however I have yet to go downstairs to put pieces together or get them online. Why? I am scared to death of rejection - but how will I know if it paid off if I don't try?!?!? I got my budget been working on it since August 2022, I purposely exclude a certain dollar amount like you suggested and that money goes to debt. And even when that debt is gone, it will be excluded for something other than eating out and shopping for "stuff".
Habits 2023!! I want to keep winter bill spending down as much as possible! I’m also tweaking winter meal planning to include homemade soups and casseroles!
I've been teaching my students about comparison shopping and teaching them how to compute units rates but never actually done it myself. Today I started building myself a comparison shopping spreadsheet of my common household purchases. Talk the talk, walk the walk. I'm also checking out a new internet provider that may save me nearly $120/month. Wish me luck as I warm up Excel.

Awesome job!!!!
I love that idea. You can see what your life will like when you are debt free.
Great idea - gotta try that this weekend. I think our timeline is similar too. Good luck! ❤
This a great idea, Cathy! Love the idea of seeing past the current goal to the freedom and power it will give! Keep up the good work!
"What you're not changing, you're choosing". So true!
"Budgeting isn't a pain; being broke is a pain". Well said!
I can apply this to my weight loss journey and Irish dance skills, as well as in finances.

I need to establish a budget habit 🎉. I want to work on lowering my grocery bill, stop wasting food, and save some money too. I'm going to take the money I save on groceries and put it in a savings account.

Don't wait. Start now!
Good point thank you from now on I am moving in silence
My freezer is packed with food but yet I found myself “ just picking up dinner”. Made a January commitment to spend no more than $25 week at the grocery and no eating out! Just because it’s on sale or BOGO doesn’t mean I have to buy it😊
Hi Kate, please could you do a video on how not to overgift/ be too generous? Definitely appropriate leading up to Christmas!
This is one of my big issues. I'm a snivelling people pleaser and I always feel like anything I do or give isn't enough or as much or as good as what other do or give.
As there are no children for Christmas this year, my son has instituted a No Gift Christmas...
It is amazing how good this feels ☺️
That's great Kate! 😁 "No it's not a pain to budget. It's a pain to be BROKE 💔." That reply is priceless! Think it thru people!
🙏❤️
Amanda you’re the best🙌🙏❤️
Habits! Your videos always make me smile and chuckle. “You feel me?” 😂 Your personality is like a light! Thank you! 💡
Thank you so much😁❤️🙏
Happy frugal Friday 👏 Make an experiment of your inventory for short time so you are interested in it!
Love it!
That makes sense to me?I always use tea bags twice as I don’t like my drinks too strong.Enjoy 😊
I use Keurig and each pod gives me 2 large and 1 small cup of coffee.
I am going to stay away from hitting the stores after work 😂! If I go straight home, I control the impulse shopping!
YASSS!
Stopping impulse shopping is so hard but worth it. Not going in the stores is the best strategy.
Habits! I had to move in silence when paying off my house. People said I couldn't do it but I did!!
Gnome more full time work, but making the job work for you! I love it.
Habits!!! I need to spend less and save more this year. Struggle with wants vs. needs and finding good deals on what I want.
Habits!
I will spend less times in stores browsing and more time walking and taking up past hands on hobbies & needlework. 😺😻😻
Hi Kate ! Thanks for another great video - habits 🤔 I am trying to avoid buying anything I don’t absolutely need in 2023 and work to become 100% debt free again with a decent emergency fund and buying a nice upright freezer to take advantage of sales as they come- I figure that may help - I have to think that through 🙂
The freezer is huge most of my meat is 1/2 price
This will help motivate me even more to get up earlier tomorrow morning 😊😊😊
Habits! Love, "what you're not changing, you're choosing"
Habits I do good for awhile and then go off the rails need to reel it in and be more consistent
Jan 11th is my 54th birthday!!🙌💖🙌😆😁
So far, with budgeting for 2022, ive done great.
What keeps me going is my budget.....
Xx
🙏🙏❤️🙌
Happy frugal Friday, Kate! I have been moving in silence the past few months, and I have quickly increase my finances, adding the EveryDollar, budgeting app to my arsenal! And now, I have two digits on the left side of the comma ! That has always been a quiet goal I have set a few years ago! Which I never told anyone, but through inspiration through your videos, and watching the older videos that you have done on the every dollar app I increase my finances and improve my budget! Thank you, Kate! Stay awesome and have a great weekend! And can’t wait for your live class on January 11!
Yass🙏❤️🙌
I just started budgeting in November…. and I also LOVE it ❤️ I created my own spread sheet, check my bank account daily and track every Euro I spend … gives me a really good feeling of control and helps me to secure my saving goals despite inflation…. greetings from Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹
YASSS! LOVE THIS! Hello in Vienna Austria! I'm so glad you're here!
What you’re not changing you’re choosing should be on a shirt or sweatshirt!!
🙌🙏❤️
Habits I’ve recorded all of my expenses for the past year in preparation for making my budget this coming year!
Hello my Retired Book Nerd! I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!!!!!!!
So, that is going to be a real money saver.
Habits! I don’t mind the idea of budgeting, but it can be time consuming for me. I look forward to learning more efficient ways of managing my money.
Congratulations! Feels good doesn't it?! Keep going!!
Yass🙌🙌🙏❤️
Kate you are a ray of sunshine 🌞 and you make frugality so much fun and doable! Love your videos! ❤
Thank you so much🙏❤️
I learned how to budget effectively a few years ago and I haven’t lived paycheck to paycheck ever since.
Thank you!
SUSAN! Welcome the family. I am SO GLAD you are here!
Morning from The Cotswolds UK xx
So glad you're here!
You worded it so well on budgeting being fun I feel the same way I like being in control it takes the worry away when you are in control of your money I’ve been on both sides and I definitely want to be in control
Habits! Happy Friday Kate 😊 looking forward to “No Spend January “ and more strategies for being frugal for 2023 🎉🎉🎉 thank you for the motivation. ❤️
Yasss! Thank you so much!!!
Moving in silence! Yes! Perfect statement!
I am 100% ready for this !
Habits!I love budgeting but am not always very good at sticking to it. I set these numbers and then kind of just spend whatever. I have a strong resolve to really cut back and stick to my budget in 2023. Also trying to do a full low spend year. And of course no spend January🎉
Habits. Love the very down to earth information. Looking forward to a frugal 2023.
LOVE IT!!!! Hi Granny Prepper!!
I have been doing the 27.40 a day. I have put 200 in my savings the last two weeks. I also starting putting an extra 200.00 on my mortgage payment to go towards the principal. I definitely want to get on a better budget for groceries and supplies. Great video!
Are you automatically transferring the $27.40 to an account or a budget category? I’m curious how to implement this….
YASSSS!!!!!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend Kate!!!! Sending hugs 🥰🥰🥰
No spend January. I am getting a generous COLA for 2023. I am going to save it!!!
Habits! yes, I want to live more frugal.
My word is control. I need more control over what I’m spending because this year I’ll be having less money.
Rule number one: Don’t leave the house.
Rule number two: Repeat rule number 1
Budgeting for you is fun?! Wow, that's amazing. I'm lousy with budgets and handling money.
I want to focus in savings and only buying what I need.
Love this Elaine! I’m so glad you are here! I like your main tactic for January! Yasss!!!
Habits, systems, walk the talk 😊
Yass🙌
Gonna look at where I can cut back.... cable is going for sure
I'm keeping a printed Low Spend monthly chart on my wall. This is my 10th month! It helps to keep me mindful on what I'm spending money on that does not count as a necessity.
“Scroll-hole” is REAL!! 😂
I am in for no spend January. Happy Holiday for all. Enjoyed Frugal Stu thanks Kate! I also did some great saving towards the end of this year. Bye
“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey
Habits!EveryDollar is my best friend. I sure do miss KSquad book club though😢
Habits. I so need to get control of my finances.
Habits! Yes - I need to be more financially disciplined
Protect your enthusiasm. Love this. #HABITS
Habits! I have a terrible Amazon addiction! That will be a huge challenge for me. Plus cooking more along with meal planning. That will save us huge!
I'm working on buying 'needs' and not 'wants'. I find Amazon and it gets me in trouble. Then i end up broke. Ugh new year new budget.
Omg 😂I thought I was the only in that got lost in my home town!! My family always say “your not from a round here, are you? 😂😂
🤣🤣❤️❤️
Habits ! I put January 11 on my calendar
Habits 2023!! I want to keep winter bill spending down as much as possible! I’m also tweaking winter meal planning to include homemade soups and casseroles!
HABIT!! YES!!
Habits! This year, 2023, I want my husband and I to save more money than ever before.
You’ve got this! How did it go?
Thanks Kate
