Here is how I play the classic tune Sleepwalk. Tabs are included in the video! Like, comment, and subscribed and check out my other lesson and cover videos!
One of the most romantic, magical, and haunting tunes ever
Check out deftones covers of sleep walk.
It’s cool how he dream about this song and made it
Thank you. Thank you very much.
You nailed it!!
I dont know if i feel it as romantic, i feel it as nostalgic sad song, magical but sad song for me, I dont know why
RITCHIEEEEEEEEEE
Jajajajajajaja te la mamaste!
Lovevit
Love it
Santo and Johnny made the song.
@@ediehunter1563 ohhhhhhhhhh that makes sense
Im 54 and just picked up a guitar 6 months ago. Thank you for this. It makes me want to continue on my journey.
Hope you are enjoying being a musician. It's never too late and it never ends ... Thanks for being my inspiration to practice tonight.
Thats great :-) have a good time!
Was in bands back in the sixties, Never had more fun watching and playing along with the music on your site. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much!
So you watched him play in the 60s?
I’m jealous.
Aww lucky i wish I lived back then because they had better music, love was better it was just nice living
I AGREE and absolutely true
This is how every guitar instruction video should be. Straight to the point. No fluff. No bs chatter. Thank you.
3 years of practice later I can finally play this song
Great!
@@diegoalvarez6083 lol
@@zidanimawan8021 lol
en 30 minutos yo lo tube

"Not my Ritchie ... Oh god bob not my Ritchie"

“RITTCHIEEEEEEE!!!!”
jajajajaja so good
RITCHIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Vincent Mileto it was in at the beginning and at the end
There will never be music like this again
Be the change u want to see in this world
Why do you think? There are talented musicians today, too. It's important for young people to get knowledge of the old music... this is a problem, BUT videos like this can bring a change. Hey, why don't you open a channel to show young musicians the retro sounds, too... ?! ;-)
@@laundry1799 You're right.
There is music like this still
Yes there will. Albatross came along decades after sleep walk and there will be others. Because there will always be music. So be happy and positive.
Not an experienced guitar player. But when I here something I love, I practice for days until I have it. I fortunately am able to pick up things very quick. Now I can add this to my repituor of songs too difficult for me to know, with dust in the wind.
Get you the song "one last breath" it's a modern(er) song that most will immediately recognize, and it's only got like 3 different parts, and sounds WAY more complicated than it actually is
Never give up
I'm 72 years old and this tune still haunts me.😊
Now I might be able to play it!
Thank you so much my friend 👍😊
En México hay muchas personas q amamos está música lamentablemente acá no gustan mucho de esto......sigue enseñando a tocar está maravillosa música amigo hermano brother Conlon saludos una hispano humilde gracias
Thank you!!!
Gracias amigo
I've wanted to know how to play this for 20 years, the tabs I always found were single note tabs that I knew wasn't the "real" way, thanks for posting
Thanks!
😊 Santo & Johnny Farina : Sleepwlk ,1959. Recorded on Pye- in C . N B the F minor chords give it a unique tang
:- 24 yrs ago I 'scored it out ',note by note on to music paper - v time consuming, & learned to play it on piano / keyboard ( nice with certain 6/8 rhythms) Th Shadows 1961 version was much different : 'heavyer' & with some altered phrasing.
I’m supposed to be doing homework due 2 days ago and here I am just admiring his playing
4 years later im here doing the same thing lol..
2:06 RRIIITTTCCHHIIIIEEE. All jokes aside man awesome cover. The reason i play guitar was because of La Bamba and this song. Saw it as kid and fell in love with the music and instrument. Your rendition is so close to pedal steel and i'm digging that subtle slap back reverb/echo!
Thank you so much!
It’s not Richie😢
Thanks for doing this . You have the most accurate version I came across on UA-cam. I’ve basically been teaching myself this song but your tutorial will perfect what I’ve fumbled through
That’s great, glad it’s helping and thank you!
Beautiful. Honestly, I find the last three chords at the end the most difficult of the entire song, because they're unlike any I've previously used before. Love the content, man, keep it up!
best guitar adaptation for this song. thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Such a beautiful song. Never thought when I first picked up a guitar I'd be able to play something like this!
Thanks mate.
Same as me man, yesterday I tried to play it and when I saw I could play it I was really shocked because I realized how much I've improved since I picked up the guitar.
Santo&Johny what a classic!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written!
after 2 months of practice, i'm nearly there, only think missing is playing it fluently! Great videos Tom, love them !
Glad the videos are helping!
Beautiful job. Captures the wonderful fluid element that makes it such a great guitar piece. Terrific!!
What a great rendition of one of the best pieces of music ever made. Your version really captures the original vibe. Thank you so much!
You don't hear enough of Santo and Johnny these days although their recordings are still available on CD or as mp3 download. Much underrated.
Excellent and subtle use of the vibrato arm in this one, Tom. Nice one.
Even tho I can't play it flawless rn, I can proudly say I learned it, yippie, thanks again, it was quite soulful
I've always loved this.Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us here on this platform.
Thank you for watching!!
Magic Tunes never to be repeated a formula one of a kind .Great playing Tom.
Your the best! Wonderful rendition of "Sleepwalk." Thank you for the wonderful memories.
Thanks so much! My dad really wanted me to learn this song and he was happy
I love this song....I don't want to learn it.
It would lose something, if that makes sense♥
Yes, but it’s so worth it!
I so know what you mean
yeah, learning a song sometimes takes the magic out of it.
If you love music and food, stay out of music schools and kitchens.
I know what you mean.
But this song is really a simple song. But this guy is not playing it so simple. He is playing it fairly intermediate. Guitar playing can get fairly complex. But even this is not complex. That's why I respect good musicians. Dedication is the magic word.
What I'm trying to say is, don't get discouraged. With practice it becomes easier. That's why they say. Practice makes perfect. It really does. This song is worth your time and effort. Really.
Really enjoy having learned all those old instrumentals,..oh so good they are. Thanks Tom!
Man!! I could watch you all day!
Música de mi niñez! Agradezco poder escucharla nuevamente.
Muchas generaciones no tuvieron tanta suerte!
Thanks so much for this! Always wanted to learn this song, seemed way too hard, but thanks to your tabs I'm going to practice this until I can play it. Great work
Thanks for the tabs. Very helpful for learning this gem. You played it flawlessly!
Perfect ! Remember Marvin and Nokie.. fundamental masters !
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for teaching this song. I think I’ve tried to learn this for years. This is the first lesson it clicked and I am great full for this. I even purchased your backing track. I’m a huge fan of surf rock. The first song I ever learned on guitar was Gloria and Walk Don’t Run.
My pleasure! I love this music so much and your comment means a lot! Thank you so much and enjoy playing!
It's sleepwalking. Love this. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing job with transcribing this, the feel. vibrato and scrolling the tab. Appreciate the all the time and effort!
Thank you for watching!
Ive heard a few versions but this is the best one ive heard so far and the Tabs are simple to read and follow
This is sooo nice! Love just listening, thank you!
Best guitar channel on UA-cam,, period!!!

Fabulous version of this song. Thanks Tom. I’m putting in the work to learn this.
After learning this Over a year ago I've come back to say I mastered this song.
Outstanding Lesson. Thanks Tom, much appreciated. A+
I just installed a Bigsby B3 on my SG, and this was the first song that I wanted to learn. Thanks, Tom!
Riffman42 Great, enjoy!
Played rhythm to this song in the 60's in our garage band. Knew just a little of the lead and now you have inspired me to learn the rest of it. I hope I can eventually play it as good as you and my lead player did. Thank you!!
Thanks!
Half way done with this. Amazing tabs bro I love you so much
Thanks for posting as this helped me tremendously on the last three chords....SUPER !
Thanks for watching!
I love this tune and your playing; perfect. This was a slow dance tune (Ventures) when I was a teenager, Great job Tom!
Thank you!
Thanks a lot, sir I really needed that, all the best for your career and keep up the good work.
Have to learn this for a gig. Thanks for a no BS lesson.
Well done, Tom! I took what you showed me here and substituted some chords where there were single melody lines and came up with a slightly different arrangement. Many thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to tucking into some of the other tunes you have on your channel.
Chris Maddox Great, Thank you so much!

Wonderful song and wonderful lesson, thanks so much for posting this, it’s definitely one I’ve always wanted to learn. 🤠
Hello Tom...I started playing again after decades because of this fantastic arrangement! I finally learned this after a month but will never sound as good as you do; I say not bad for a 69 year old and a great teacher from New England! Born in Vermont 1949 here! Unchained Melody next! Thank you again.
Thank you so much! Enjoy!
😮. Unchaind Melody is a clever tune & has many chord changes.
This song goes down into the core of being... It is the beauty of life and death. Aching for something. Only to lose it all as it slips right through our fingers
Tenga su like mi estimado , gran ejecución
Gracias!
Grt Job smooth action the slides the string bending and note for note also reverb full of twang for sure

So fun to play and learn! What a cracking track!! Thank you so much :)
Thanks for watching!
Sublime. Thanks for tabbing it. Some of those chords got lost in the seventies so it’s great to see them here.
Thanks!!
Great playing and nice tone my friend. Next to Jeff Beck's version this is my second fav. - and that says a lot!
Oh man I was just scrolling through the comments thinking that besides the original Jeff Beck and and Tom are the best versions.Jeff's take on "A Day in the Life" is also quite a standout version. But I'm getting off track now.
Great tone on that Jazzmaster, I’m currently saving up for one
Thanks, I love it!
Nice job, loved the sound... I grew up back in those days..
After 2 months to trying to learn this song, i find your video and i made it
Thanks to you men :D
You’re welcome!
I'm a bit late, but how do you get your guitar to produce that noise? Is it a footswitch? Sorry, I'm a bit newer to the guitar
How is it possible I discovered this channel today??????
Melania thanks for checking it out!
@@tomcon21 thanks to you!! Now I have lots of songs to practice :)
Beautifully Played ! Love to hear the harmonized chords instead of single notes. Thank you.
Thank you man!!!
I sleepwalk to this.
