-sandpaper -you need a glue that dries flexible. Pattex for example. I'm using Kövulfix. -I'm using a sewing awl to make a simple stitch, like the one from a sewing machine -I personally don't like suede. In my experience, it's too fragile, and often of bad quality -boiled linseed oil is what I use. Leather fat would be an alternative. Don't use anything that smells bad because you will smell it when drinking, and that will make the water taste bad.
