My dad taught me this like a month ago. Changed my jeans graveyard drastically. Once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy and looks good. I liked it so much after the first leg hole I finished I did 3 more pants the same day.
Thanks so much for sharing this! My nephew needed new dress pants hemmed at the last minute, the day of homecoming. Nobody could help him that quickly, so we did it ourselves!
Your tailor certainly knows many/if not all of the tricks of the trade. Very informative video, and I for one, appreciate this series on Tailoring you have/are developing. Thanks for sharing this information. Job well done!
This is awesome! I've been wanting to hem my own pants for quite some time. My grandma always made this look so easy, but I'm definitely going to practice before I work on a set of trousers.
Thank You So Much for this well done instructional video! The only video I found showing the blind hem BY HAND! I sew by hand but literally could not figure out how this was done🤣 Getting to it now... hubby's first day is tomorrow 🥰 Thanks Again💖
Although I've never lengthened a pair of pants, instead, shortened 100% of them, it was cool to see how the blind stick goes when I need to do it myself if an emergency occurs. Thank you very much aspiring gent and kavalier to make it happen!
My mom used to do this for all my dad suit pants bc he was kinda short lol he got them tailored in big brand name stores but she always had to retouch them anyway bc there were days the stitches came undone or she had to reinforce them. I have no clue how to do this and my husband has to go to a wedding in a couple of hours. Hoping I can do it... it's already hell on earth trying to iron this. 😂
This series with Aspiring Gent is a gold mine. I just wish you were doing less real world examples and more with contrasting colors so it is easier to pick up the technique
It would have REALLY helped if you had used a light colored thread on the dark pants or vice versa!! Congrats on being so young and having such a great career!👍👍👍
In my experience you only grab a little bit of fabric so it will tear away without causing noticeable damage. (But make sure you don’t grab too much fabric )Also make sure your stitches are close together to prevent that problem.
Could you check out some of the accessories by Beckett Simonon their backpack and weekender look awesome but didn't know if you had interest in checking them out
I'd love to be able to do this, but I found it difficult to see what you were doing up close and many steps were kind of rushed over. For someone who's never done this and wants to learn, I found it too fast.
I thought it would look better if the gentleman received a medium break or full break instead. THat's according to the Gentleman's Gazette. Great video nonetheless
I'm unsubscribing, this is so frustrating. I can't see shit. The camera has the worst angle. And I ha e an important event coming up. I can't afford to trust someone else to tailor my shut. The last person made it too short. Now I don't trust nobody and I'm not spending more money to have someone else fix it. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Wow he’s the youngest tailor I’ve ever seen. Congratulations on learning such a beautiful craft at a young age.

This video just saved me a $25 trip to my tailor :). Thanks!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for the video. I am a shorty and have to shorten my pants and dresses, but I see how I can use this to help hem.

Nice technique. Wished this was a light coloured trousers for the demo. We can see more clearly that way.
Yes, only thought to do that on the seam repair video.
@@The_Kavalier do u have any better camera angles??? I can't see shit from the angle you have the camera.
@@The_Kavalier the camera is too far to see your work...or to understand the dynamic of what you are doing
Man this is so frustrating I can't see shit
@@Giltorres88 lmao you're on youtube, bro. there's probably at least 2 dozen other videos covering this topic.

Great pragmatic video! I like videos that are not camouflaged advertisements.

Please make a video about taper the trousers.
Jon, can we get some more detail on those trousers- They look great on!
I just uploaded a vid showing how to hem pants without sewing at all and takes 5 minutes. Great tutorial.
Would love to have some of Louis’s skills
BRILLIANT - Thanks so much
I need to hem my husbands police uniform pants! This is so helpful!
I can't help but notice how beautiful your hands are !!! And I'm a girl 😅
Thank you for this video
My God, does everyone upload on Saturday? My notifications! Jesus.😉💋
Is the blind stitch more prone to ripping since you only grab a few strands of the fabric? and following that thus damaging the fabric?
Good question, Louis?

Really helpful thanks
i have the same sowing machine!
Hei Guys. I have a question regarding the type of finish of waistand. But I need to attach a Picture for you to understand my question. Thx

I have their weekender and it’s great! Have been using it for almost 5 years. Should do a video on that.
@@The_Kavalier Awesome. I would love to see the review of it. I have been interested in their accessories as they look really good.
Do you have any better angle videos???
thx man
guy said its easy. tell that to my bloody fingers.
Hey thanks! Now I can size my short legs easier lol
