HALF GRADIENT Spiral Tie Dye

- For today's video, I came up with an idea to divide the spiral into two parts. The other half is all black and the other one is colourful. Hope you like it guys.
How to Liquid Dyeing
1.) Pre-wash the shirt(100% cotton) with detergent.
2.) Soak the shirt in Soda Ash for atleast 30 minutes.
Soda Ash mixture(1 cup per 1 gallon.) Note: Soda ash is reusable.
3.) Make sure the shirt is damp before folding it (for liquid dye)
4. Fold the shirt according to the desired design(Spiral, Scrunch, & etc..,)
5.) For Liquid, Dye and Water ratio.
Black- 4tsp dye powder to 100ml water
Other color - 2tsp dye powder to100ml water
Note* It depends on the shade you want to achieve. The more dye the darker shade, the more water the lighter shade.
6.) Apply the Dye using a squeeze bottle needle tip. Once done put it inside the plastic bag and set it aside for 48hrs. This process is called the curing process.
7.) After 48hrs rinse the shirt in running water. you can use Zonrox colorsafe or synthrapol to avoid bleeding..

Great job. I love your work. I have a question.. to me it seems you aren’t using that much dye when you are on camera. Im curious if you go back and saturate the areas with dye off camera or if this is all the dye you use? Thanks keep up the great work man
7:10 Maybe you skipped this part. I put a note saying Open the pleats and apply some dye. I did this off cam coz it will be a very long video if i include that. Thank you!
@@meofaustino less dye gives more of a tie dye look tho too. So depends on what you're going for! I made a shirt and I will defbuse less next time cuz its top saturated n lost the tie dye look IMO...you should do another like this and use less dye and compare or just show differences
Correct, you can do the less dye application and have a white parts, as a result it has random effects. I'm more on the intricate side and always hoping for less white results .

Yeah I cure it a minimum of 48hrs to make sure it's vibrant. The less white aspect was because of opening the pleats and applying some dye.

I am sorry because I am sure this has been asked a million times… what type of tie dye are you using??
No, it's ok. I used fiber reactive dye from Dharma and not sure about the other brand because I just bought them from local suppliers but I think they are Jacguard or Procion dyes.
