I know, and I also feel like an idiot because I just watched the one with the smilely face on it and said it wouldn't be a smilely face i forgot what tie-dye was...
Hey y’all! If you soak your shirts in soda ash before you dye them, they retain the color/dye better. (Idk if someone already said something like this so sorry if ya did)
Sorry to ruin the chain guys, I actually searched it up: Soda ash, also known as sodium carbonate, has the following uses: Industrial applications - Being a highly soluble substance, soda ash is used for numerous chemical reactions. It's mostly used as an ingredient in the manufacture of dyes and coloring agents, synthetic detergents and fertilizers.
These are the very best tie dye design videos. I love to make tie dye shirts, but I am not a very artistic person. I have used many UA-cam videos for designs. These are my most favorite, hands down. Thanks for sharing these.
I've watched several of your videos today and I'm afraid I'm going to have to at least try my attempt at a tie-dye shirt this summer. 🤗 But I can't decide which pattern is my favorite. ❤
wow cool - i think im going to do some tie dyeing - back in the ol hippie days i loved to tie-dye, back in the late 60s - 70s, gives my age away haha, but dyes are much better now. all we had access to back in the day were ritz dyes, faded real quick. but these are great...
Yes we sometimes do turn the shirt inside out before folding it. This is especially useful when trying to do a hard design. An inside out shirt has its seams visible and it let's you fold the shirt more precisely if that makes sense. For the most part this is not needed and you can have just as much success while leaving the shirt as is.
I also find that dying inside out, helps prevent speckling that the dye sometimes leaves behind. It still happens, but not as noticable on the side that will be visible. Sometimes too much dye happens, lol, and leaves unwanted dots.
Every time I see one of these I'm like... 'well that can't look good' and every time I'm wrong
Literally 😂
Same hahah
Ya never know the outcome 🤷🏾♂️

Same question, what's soda ash?
Yea what’s soda ash..?

It looks like a huge spider...I had the urge to say "help me!" Very nice indeed 👌
It looks like your shirts are inside out, are they? Is there a specific reason? Regardless, your designs are amazing!

An inside out shirt has its seams visible and it let's you fold the shirt more precisely if that makes sense. I find folding easier because the inside out seams lie flat.
I also find that dying inside out, helps prevent speckling that the dye sometimes leaves behind. It still happens, but not as noticable on the side that will be visible. Sometimes too much dye happens, lol, and leaves unwanted dots.
You’re the coolest dude around!!!
That is so cool 😎 love that wig wag vibe
