the 3rd row should also have 3 individual removeble seats!! Makes the car more flexable. Individual seats are lighter to carry in and out instead of the heave 2seat setup.
I like: 1. better suspension 2. Better entertainment 3. Keyless option 4. Aditional armrests on front seats 5. Electric handbrake. but there are many downgrades also: 1. Less Cup holders in front. 2. No storage at the roof in front 3. Missing 12v socet on dash. 3. Less power diesel 4. Last row seat belt are not integrated 5. Last row seats are not individual.
A genuinely cool people mover/work van that Ford Australia won't promote, fall to the wayside and be discontinued from our line up in a couple of years because of poor sales.
Thanks for this review. I'd never heard of the car before, and I love learning something new. One moment of the review caused me to LOL.... 8:50 You criticised how hard it is to reach up and close the tailgate, with a preference for a powered option, while a "grab strap" is hanging in the air next to your head?!!! Anyhow, I don't believe that an EV people mover with 320km of range... with 1 person on board, is going to be viable in Australia. How will it go with 6-8 people on board?
Haha good spot! I did notice it out of the corner of my eye as I shut the boot but some of the vertically challenged among us may still struggle, it’s pretty small. - TP
Why no mention of the available overseas plug in hybrid option? Was it that another journo was driving it and did not give others a turn? Why critisize the ride when Oz-bound cars are annonced to be coming with 17inch wheels but you drove a 19 inch example? Why no mention of the lack of any arm rests in 2nd and 3rd rows, impacting comfort on longer trips? Is complementing the electric version refinement a polite way to say that the Diesel is very noise and vibrating? Much better review than others, though.
64kwh seems a bit small I would like it to be up at 100kwh like the IDBuzz and EV9 get those range numbers up. Maybe in the future as battery tech continues to improve.
Wrong battery chemistry. Limited life of battery. It does raise charging speed, which is ok. I agree, that window coverage is off putting. Sounds expensive
It's not bad, but $60k+ for the diesel is just too much money for what you're getting. And considering the lack of electric range, the EV version being $70-$80k (or more?) is just taking the piss
That’s great that you get to to Germany. However it’s just a shame that you review the overseas model. It’s not my cup of tea watching a review of a vehicle where the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car & when it is not the same spec as Australian deliveries then it’s a bit misleading.
It’s fairly common for our first drive of new cars to be in overseas markets far ahead of their on-sale date in Australia. The new Tourneo doesn’t go on sale until Q4, and the EV version hasn’t been locked in for Aus yet. We wouldn’t go all the way to Europe if there was a more relevant vehicle already available in Australia. By sampling these vehicles earlier we aim to bring you our insights earlier, which can be helpful if buyers plan on ordering one ahead of time etc. As always, we aim to follow up these reviews with a local evaluation once they arrive.
That is baaad ...the range for a family is a joke...cmon ...cant ford make a van with 600km of ev range?...this wont sell much in my opinion...maybe im wrong...we will see
The range will indeed be an issue… Imagine with 6 children aboard… “Ok kids we have to stop on a parking, mostly not secured, along the highway for 30 minutes…” 😅
I would personally go for petrol hybrid with 2.5 engine. It would be my Ideal Ford Tourneo.

this is coming end of this year ;)
Is the short wheel base sufficient for family vacations with 5 members😊?
Great review, thanks man!

I think I'd rather buy this stylish Van than the longish Kia Carnival.
I will buy this
Thanks Great Video

I would buy one if they offered the 9 seater...
A hybrid version would be good

i agree i have the id buzz cargo... 77kw ...easy can do 230 miles....
Camper version would be interesting.
Nugget
Price should be US $ 25000.

I think I’d buy that over some overpriced suv that costs more.
It does offer good value for money, especially on the base grade.
Сколько смотрю на пассажирские версии и неужели мозгов не хватает делать задние двери распашные 🤗а не эту снеговую лопату🤕

@@chasingcars thanks for the reply. It just seems to me that sometimes the European versions don’t match up with what we eventually get here
There will be a review when it arrives locally.
Just don’t watch these early reviews.

Absolutely agree. It's a deal breaker
