There actually is a Wizard of Oz game for SNES... ...And its soundtrack sucks (to clear confusion, it wasn't a 16-bit version of DSoTM. The games soundtrack consists of high-pitched screeches, which only worsens the experience of a truly abysmal game).
I used to play this game for hours at a time as a kid. The ending was weird. Once you finally made it to the dark side of the moon, you meet Roger Waters. After giving him all the items you've collected on your adventures ("About Face," "Wet Dream," Profiles," "The Madcap Laughs), he throws it all in a fire and all you can do is select supportive responses ("Yes, Roger," "You're right, Roger," "Your voice is as good as it ever was, Roger," etc) to him complaining about the lads ad infinitum.
I remember my uncle showed me an easter egg in the ending. If you named your character "Jew", "Jewish", or anything relating to Israel, Roger would yell, "AAAAAAANNNTIIIIII-SEMIIIIIIIITE!" and a really compressed picture of him pointing his finger at you would pop up. It startled me as a kid, but now that I've replayed this more than a few times, I can't help but name the protagonist David every time.
This is one of the best things ever. Every song holds such a big place in my heart, so I'm happy to hear it represented in a nice way with very little complexity
I mean I knew about Pink Floyd but I never really listened to their music. Still not gonna cause I have this to listen to and it helps me focus at work.
There's no such thing as the "SNES soundfont" though? Each game had its own SoundFont that was separate from other games. Which one(s) did you use, if you remember?
SNES literally does have a soundfont, its on the chip in the console, Cartridges can introduce new soundfonts all they want, just like the various graphics chips

The Dark Side of the Cartridge
lol, would be a great title
When you blow on a cartridge and it fixes it 10 times in a row, this happens.

I came here to sample the 8 bit sound of pink floyd's greatest album and realized, even in 8 bit, I could not help but listen to the whole album!
SNES was 16-bit.
@@AJ-on-youtube d'oh! good catch my man
@@RealMACGamer There is an 8 bit version on youtube. If your really old like me that is a real blast.
@@greyroo Thanks!
@@greyroothanks aswell!
working on a new version guys
Thank you so much! That's amazing! 😜
Severely underrated, I think MIDI brings out the grooviness of DSOTM and its character as a whole
i unironically love this and i have no idea why
🥰
@@overidiz keep up the great work bro, this is amazing
@@lonerstar thanks so much 🫡
Wow! Unironically??! That’s huge!
it's crazy how different this sounds compared to the 8-bit version! 8 more bits make such a difference!
4:03
-"Grab the wheel Sarah, let's trade places!"...
"Faster, drive faster!"
[Gunshots]
-"Ahh! Ahhgh!"
-"NO! KYLE!!!"
"Oh my God!!!"
Do Terminators dream of electric sheep?

This sound BETTER than the 2023 ROGER WATERS DEBACLE...
lmao
This is the best thing I’ve ever gotten recommended. ❤
Im glad i found your channel in my recommended
I'm glad too
The Dark Side of the Moog.

The Darkside of the Mario Bros
dude this is amazing :)
for a synth heavy sound if you did wish you were here or animals would be so cool
I'll make it for sure
The Dark Nintendo side of the moon.
this is some good stuff.
Brain damage would be a good place for a Kefka laugh.
And On the Run
"The lunatic is in your head... [mwa ha ha ha!]" Now I'm going to hear Kefka every time I listen to the album normally :P
Such underrated Channel.. 😢 Wish you more luck in this so called "youtube" space where every potential grow slow..
Don't need luck when I had comments like this, share with your friends
on the run is awesome
ah yes, the Moonwave
Freak'in master piece right there
this is the hardest shit ive heard since original dsotm
All we need is Naomi Watts' dad laughing like a lunatic
Genius

I can make it just for u
Great version ! :)

Amigo soy fan de nintendo y pink floyd esto es una curiosa experiencia hisiste un buen trabajo👍
This wouldn't sound off the mark on Earthbound's soundtrack.
Cart Side of the Moon
Underrated comment.
cool
thank u
I’d love to hear and justice for all by Metallica done because of the gunshot sounds would really work for the opening to one
Woah how the hell did you do that visualizer?!?!

I don't really get any of this but it's fine
I mean I knew about Pink Floyd but I never really listened to their music. Still not gonna cause I have this to listen to and it helps me focus at work.
Why does this album do so much to so many people. ?
bc it's a psychedelic pop trip
Holy shit
Do you really know what the SNES is capable of? Listen to the Plok! Soundtrack
Thanks
The first minute is legit IDM, which was a strange departure from DSOTM, but I like it anyway.
7:15 even Jordan Rudess couldn't play this
Vastly better than Roger Waters' own version
oh god
@@overidizWell Roger thinks he is.
Lol too true😂
Can we get like a wish you were here (album) 16 or 8 bit release that would be so sick
yeah, im working on it

I enjoyed your 8bit synth version of this very very much, but I find this unlistenable. Sorry. :(
That was a mess, i couldnt mix right with my old gear
This is actually how I've always heard their music in my head and explains why I don't like Pink Floyd.
kekw
It sounds so bad lmao
too complex for the bitrate
Oh boy those high tones, way too piercing over the other channels
gon fix it next time, thank ya
Sounds a lot like stuff made by Uematsu
This is way better than the shitty 8-bit version.
i think the doom version is better in terms of 16bit
