I climbed from 600-something to (currently) 2500-2600, and my theory on healbotting is that the people who climbed from bronze are more prone to it because in lower levels the amount of heals/how long supps stay up determine the fights because the team fights last so fucking long.
The thing that people seem to gloss over is that it actually takes skill to stay alive and pump out healing where it matters. People use the term “healbot” to refer to anyone with a heal-focused playstyle, but there’s a world of difference between someone who is just mindlessly healing whatever happens to wander across the center of their screen and someone who has some basic positioning, movement, and awareness to apply healing to the allies who are actually fighting. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for low-rank players to focus on developing their healing skills, because that skillset is fundamental to every support hero. Getting value out of the more offensive options in a support’s kit requires that you have the ability to heal effectively when it’s needed and the awareness/judgement to recognize that it is needed. _Choosing_ not to heal because you think you can get more value doing something else is way different from _failing_ to heal because you didn’t know it was needed or didn’t position yourself to apply it. And you’re right, at low rank, supports can have a lot of impact by just staying alive and healing with reasonable target priority. Both teams make tons of mistakes, so just helping your team survive their mistakes means that the enemy team is likely to hand you the fight win eventually. It can definitely be a big adjustment when you hit the ceiling on purely-defensive play, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad place to start on your learning path. People say that healing doesn’t win fights it only delays losses, which is true, but if you’re letting your team lose fights before they find a way to win, then your theoretically fight-winning abilities are useless.

I'd never seen your content before this and your most recent bronze mercy video, but this is honestly giving me some really good insight into how to improve my play. I'm mostly a Mercy/Brigitte main, but I flex to Ana and Moira pretty frequently when more healing is needed. I tend to sit around high bronze/low silver, and while I follow a lot of the mercy tech advice like pushing damage boost, using valk for damage boost, playing away from teammates, etc, I feel like I'm lacking in some of the game sense/positioning that would allow me to climb the ranks better. The way you offer critiques about support play and clarify common misconceptions about what you're "supposed" to do as various supports is extremely helpful, and I can see this making a difference in my play, especially as Ana after this video!
My God ... I haven't played OW for 3 weeks 😫. This video reminds me of the frustration i go through as a Silver Tank player. May the force be with everyone
I respect your honesty here it’s so vindicating to hear a high level player explain the low rank issue so blatantly. Also I agree with the comment you should do a Bronze to GM spectating Reinhardt
This video was something. Love the spectating bronze, too fun. As someone who also has the mechanical skill of a candy bar I’m so happy to hear the low level support thoughts. I try to damage beam as much as possible, but when the other support can’t hit shots and or is constantly feeding and then dead what can you do.
I'm hardstuck high bronze/low silver and I love these. Very informative and fun. I played OW a TON from release to around 2018 so I've had to learn and adapt a lot since coming back a couple months ago.
I play with a couple Bronzes and the biggest thing I keep telling them is to use their ult, even if they get one person, it's worth it. I had a Zarya sit on her ult the entire game and when I asked her why she said "I was waiting for the entire enemy team to be together"'. When I told her "That time won't ever come", she got pissed and cussed me out. It's hard to convince Bronzes to use their ults because they constantly want the "perfect ult".
This is the type of person to say "guys i did so well I have like 8k healing" you can have all the healing ever but when you don't help get picks and hold alts you aren't doing anything for the team. It's called support not healer. Being a heal bot isn't being support. Of course you will have a bundle of healing its ALL you are doing.
OMG Flats! SteadyCoffee is a long lost Destiny clan mate of mine! I lost my mind seeing their name pop up here. We just reconnected through this video so we can play some Overwatch 2 together. Wish us luck, we're going to need it! 🤣💀
I don't usually play support(Junkrat main) but when I do, I go for Ana. I remember someone telling me to treat my nano like a mushroom power up from Mario because that's essentially what it is. Throw it at whoever you want, but get rid of it as soon as you get it, because you can get it back so quickly. That advice has saved my ass any time I decide to go support.
Anna is the only healer that requires a bit of accuracy. Literally putting yourself at a disadvantage. Pretty much could have picked any other healer and helped the team out more lel. Imma edit this for all the ummm actually people. Yes other classes have some sense of aim as well, but if you can’t use a zenyataa heal by looking and pressing a key, which you can spam or an aoe that hits the ground. Just don’t play, my point is Ana is by far the highest skill gap for accuracy healer for healing in itself.
Bro, I watch your videos every night while I eat dinner and tonight this video almost killed me. Straight up, choked on my pasta when Ana ulted on the Mercy and you walked off.
Wait I know this person, just meet Steady in (it was a comp on kings row ironically I think can't remember exactly) They helped me so much when I was playing Mercy
I just want to mention the sheer panic that Mercy must have been feeling in that moment. Like the fight is basically over, the team is dead, and you're Mercy trying to salvage this shit... and the Ana fucking hits you with Nano. My brain would shut off for a couple seconds there, just trying to parse what the fuck happened.
18:4423:06 What is that Nano Boost confirmation thing in the UI? I have never seen that before and I have the most hours played [compared to the other heroes I play] on Ana.
I love playing Ana, but as a console player I find it hard to aim with her. You can put your friendly aim assist up high and it helps massively, but the problem is if you are aiming down sights if any team mate moves in front of your scope your aim will just pull across to them instead. So I have assist really low, but can't hit a barn door because of it. Blizzard needs to allow you to turn off aim assist when ADS, but keep it on for hipfire.
@@deadmaniac0472 Top Ana players on console (that aren’t cheating with mouse and keyboard) are pretty split on whether you should use friendly aim assist or not. I personally didn’t but
Use aim assist but turn the aim assist window size to like 75/80ish. Practice with those settings and you’ll see it’s easier to hit shots. I’m around 3700 and my aim is usually pretty good even with my terrible internet
Fun (Not Fun) Fact: Turns out a lot of people play competitive shooters without headphones. I learned this when I lived with my brother and our friends a few years ago and they almost always had it coming through their speakers. Voice chat too.
Gotta love it - you're bundled together in-game, you hear your own character through your headphones, you hear their character through your headphones and then you hear all that repeated with some delay through their mic. It's already a clusterf and we didn't even get to the actual voice message yet.
i'm VERY new to overwatch... to the point "feeding" is a new term to me that i learned a few matches in. i mostly play support right now, so these critiques are very helpful for me to learn game mechanics! i like ana, but my brother got mad when i used nano on him when i had it for a minute and felt i should use it rather than just hold it... then a friend told me to spam that its ready until dps or tank signals their ult is also ready.. that helped me win a game! for your support critiques learning when to heal/where to keep my eyes is helpful, i'm used to apex (the only other FPS i play, started last august) so i am used to constantly looking around for threats... seeing that i need to just keep an eye on my team is good, though sometimes i am hit from behind so i feel i still need to check now and then :') i am a beginner all around and do well with specific guidance! so finding your channel is very helpful!
Overanalyzed by Stylosa is way better, it has constructive and mostly positive criticism, and that is why is fun to watch, the absurdity of a bad gameplay is enough to entertain. This guy is really, really rude. And this is the third video I'm watching. The gameplay is painful but the endless and over the top complaining is worst, there's no reason to have this attitude. I saw this guy calling the players useless, disgusting, trash and stupid, yelling or saying there's no point to give advice cause the player is just bad (Mercy video) or he is "playing like a dogshit" (Rein video). In fact, since the main objective is just talk trash and humiliate players without any intention to help them, there's only bronze videos in his channel. But I guess is what people want, after all I can't help but wander why the heck someone deliberately want to send him a video. Edited one year later: See my comment below.

I hope this player has the same amount of fun playing her as I do
The best part of this isn't the fact that he holds nano forever, nor is it the nano Mercy, nor the fact that this guy has the mechanical skills of a candy bar, but the fact that he has an Ana skin that's blindfolded while he has terrible aim. He kind of just told he was actually playing the game blindfolded

I hope the mercy on this ana"s team knows that if the team flamed the support for not healing enough, it's not her fault, it's the ana who could've had at least 3 nanos, and also can't aim. And then wasted the first nano used on her while she's just chilling on cart after winning the fight. Gotta hit the aim training workshops hard, play Moira or smth in the meanwhile.
No! Our comms were genuinely supportive this whole match. No one flamed anyone, not even the Rein. I submitted it because I left that game feeling happy and not just because of the Zarya clutch (saved my panicking Moira twice there on cart) for the win at the end. I had had some toxic games around that time so it was a nice reminder that sometimes we play a game for fun. If someone had flamed the Mercy, I would have a) bitterly defended her, and b) wouldn't have submitted this match for Flats to roast me.

The way you offer critiques about support play and clarify common misconceptions about what you're "supposed" to do as various supports is extremely helpful, and I can see this making a difference in my play, especially as Ana after this video!
Honestly, dude's scoped accuracy is like 5x his hip fire lmao.... wish he could see this and would scope more.
Flats the advice to not just trying to heal critical sis like 8 years too late. Honestly some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten
I love all the bronze videos that have been dropping lately, but don't burn yourself out Flats. Just do what makes you happy
I honestly think he genuinely enjoys making these vids
1:39 omg hitting a sleep dart 0.1 seconds after the door opens is my signature move lmfao. Love doing it on a widow!
I love how they Nano Mercy is mercy pulls out her gun, she was like "Welp time to carry"
Ngl I wish there was voice chat in the replayer because it would be interesting to see what happens in there comms
Hold up, the Ana cyberpunk skin is a “C” is flats high? What the fuck. 😂
Agree, it's a solid F compared to all the awesome skins she has.
@@TheUrbanBeekeepers dude what u are on, there’s no way this skin is F
That's a straight up an A or a S
@@TheUrbanBeekeepers you're high too I suppose

as a support player and ana main, this hurts
That's why they are bronze, just let them be bronze. Glad I worked hard and moved to Plat
you‘d better off teaching actual apes!
Please quick scope, please quick scope, please quick scope
13:29 i love flats but thats some friendly fire right there
That Mercy Nano made a spectator rage quit lmao
OMG Flats! SteadyCoffee is a long lost Destiny clan mate of mine! I lost my mind seeing their name pop up here. We just reconnected through this video so we can play some Overwatch 2 together. Wish us luck, we're going to need it! 🤣💀
i just like how in the beginning they said the rein was yelling in comms and then you see him do stupid shit over stupid shit lmfao its hilarious
That advice has saved my ass any time I decide to go support.
me when the ana main saves their ult for the next round
“You have the mechanical skill of a candy bar” -flats
Anna is the only healer that requires a bit of accuracy. Literally putting yourself at a disadvantage. Pretty much could have picked any other healer and helped the team out more lel.
Imma edit this for all the ummm actually people. Yes other classes have some sense of aim as well, but if you can’t use a zenyataa heal by looking and pressing a key, which you can spam or an aoe that hits the ground. Just don’t play, my point is Ana is by far the highest skill gap for accuracy healer for healing in itself.
zenyatta
@@aecra you press a key while it highlights a team member. Not really accuracy if there isn’t a hitscan. Also it auto heals after

Bap and Zen require some sense of aim to be effective as well.

This Ana: " You're hard to keep a scope on genji (everyone). Always unpredictable "
Bro, I watch your videos every night while I eat dinner and tonight this video almost killed me. Straight up, choked on my pasta when Ana ulted on the Mercy and you walked off.
Anytime I see my team go off the map I stand still and stare at their icon and just spam “understood”
genuinely thought this was gonna be me and i didn’t submit anything
Ana’s name is SteadyCoffee. Yeah it looks like they had 6 shots of espresso before the match. Pretty sure they’re seeing sounds at this point.
Wait I know this person, just meet Steady in (it was a comp on kings row ironically I think can't remember exactly) They helped me so much when I was playing Mercy
Hey, have to support the other support, haha...!
@@steadycoffee4682 Exactly we love our mercy and Ana duos!

18:44 23:06 What is that Nano Boost confirmation thing in the UI? I have never seen that before and I have the most hours played [compared to the other heroes I play] on Ana.
Flats talking about animation cancels while my mans can’t even figure out to scope in 😂
21:00 > Randomly swinging on Rein
I've been randomly hit as an escaping Moira stepping out of fade.
Lol, that moment at 17:16 when dude is just spamming hip shots and spinning in a circle... and then misses nade on himself with 8 hp.
You know it's not joke anymore when Flats throws away his headset in real anger/disappointment lmao... and I don't blame him for those nano's
I have a good settings that solve this problem, it was hard to me to aim but know I can shot to any target freely.
That's probably just a you issue dude
@@deadmaniac0472 Top Ana players on console (that aren’t cheating with mouse and keyboard) are pretty split on whether you should use friendly aim assist or not. I personally didn’t but
Use aim assist but turn the aim assist window size to like 75/80ish.
Practice with those settings and you’ll see it’s easier to hit shots. I’m around 3700 and my aim is usually pretty good even with my terrible internet
@@glacity aim assist is fine if it's below 80
Nuclear Zarya getting 0 help is the classic bronze way of losing
It would take more than 10 fingers to count the number of times I've been nano'd as Mercy, but I battle mercy the fuck out of that shit
i love watching these vids bc it reminds me of a time my high level friend spectated me playing Hanzo in QP and doing an absolutely abysmal job lmaooo
I have a buddy in plat who mains Ana and this looked like his Ana gameplay.
25:20 has to reload and can't kill the Junkrat because of only three bullets. Because they didn't reload when repositioning instead.
It's better to have nano'd and lost, Than to never have nano'd at all.
i'm VERY new to overwatch... to the point "feeding" is a new term to me that i learned a few matches in. i mostly play support right now, so these critiques are very helpful for me to learn game mechanics! i like ana, but my brother got mad when i used nano on him when i had it for a minute and felt i should use it rather than just hold it... then a friend told me to spam that its ready until dps or tank signals their ult is also ready.. that helped me win a game!
for your support critiques learning when to heal/where to keep my eyes is helpful, i'm used to apex (the only other FPS i play, started last august) so i am used to constantly looking around for threats... seeing that i need to just keep an eye on my team is good, though sometimes i am hit from behind so i feel i still need to check now and then :')
i am a beginner all around and do well with specific guidance! so finding your channel is very helpful!
3:10 tfw auto tune hits hard
When the nano went to the mercy I honestly thought "well... at least he used the nano", KEKW.
As a healer I hate when all players are seperated and are all yelling WHERE IS THE HEALER at the same time......
now remember. AIM DOWN YOUR SIGHTS. -SGT Foley
Right?! Like I get that some plays might not have been the best, but it's bronze ranks, what does he expect?
And the "I'm not trying to be a dick" :
Proceeds to shit on the player the whole game
this content is more meant to be joking about how bad the gameplay is with a few tips here and there, not a coaching or a review type thing here, just more to laugh and have fun.
people sending it in understand that for the most part.
@@marionluigi6517 You’re right, it took some time to understand and even enjoy Flat’s content. The fact he seems a really nice guy IRL helped to give him another chance and watch more videos.
@@pozziellen Yeah it comes off really rude and almost disrespectful when you first see him off one of these videos, but it makes sense once you figure out what he's doing lol.
Flats is actually such a good teacher. Everything after 10:10 is sage advice.
I feel like a play a bad Ana sometimes but it's nice to know I'm not alone down there. I think I probably have better aim but I fall into the habit of hardly ever using my ult lmfao I still genuinely enjoy playing Ana, because the satisfaction when I actually do something good is so high.
At 6:15 he says as a tank main they're pissing him off... And as a support main they're pissing me off too
14:14 You ever experience the feeling where you are jumpscared but instead of overreacting you just jitter in your seat. This nano did that to me. This nano repulsed me so much it s c a r e d me. I have never had that happen before.
Love this series! hope all is well :D
"You have the mechanical skill of a candy bar" looooool
i love how they have nano confirmation on and still nano'd the mercy lmeow
I fell off my toilet seat when she nanoed the mercy, lay down on the bathroom floor laughing my guts out for a solid 5 mins
okay but the dyslexia kicking in at the start where he couldn’t read 💀💀💀
i'm fairly new to Overwatch and the one thing i have learned playing ranked is people sit on ults for most of the match completely blowing my mind.
If someone had flamed the Mercy, I would have a) bitterly defended her, and b) wouldn't have submitted this match for Flats to roast me.
i had this guy in one of my games. played on oasis. i kid you not i watched it back and he hit 7 shots total in a round (8 if you count a symmetra turret)
funny how the rein was yelling at his team in comms when hes the ultimate feeder
As an Ana main I was avoiding this video cause I knew it would make my brain hurt, but already kinda missing OW1 tempo so here we are 😊
the Ana was making it so much harder on herself by sitting so far back on defense point 3.
Nah flats I needed the laugh there when she nanos the mercy😭😭
I never trust an Ana to be good unless they're plat. It's too high a skill floor to learn for anyone gold and under. This is why she went totally unused in the pro-scene, until a GM figured out how to use her correctly.
Soo happy I got into diamond full time again. Plat has this same problem as bronze in people just holding ults and target priorities
I would've lost my mind if I was that rein. I'd get banned for the things I'd say after that match.
@24:42 OMG this is why these Bronze replays are THE BEST LOLOLOLOLOLOL
