What's to say Uber doesn't do the same with there BS surges. How much does Uber pay u on the side friend? Your quite the advocate...
especially in LAX. theres 4 cars in the lot but actually theres 50 cars on the app. its crazy i drive suv and i stay out of lax.
Do you what is that mean when uber driver using Android phone? In more than 90% means the driver using fake GPS.
But when an uber driver using two Android phone that means 100% sure the driver using fake GPS ;)

They just said something about that to me and I don't do anything like that they said fraudulent activity on my driver account so I can't do airport pickups anymore
I have those apps but I use them appropriately. Such as pranking my close friends. I could not even dream of doing something that stupid and unethical. If you want to make extra money it's easier to deliver packages for Amazon flex on the side too, instead of risking your finances or even freedom for erroneously collecting small cancellation fees.
So the customer would cancel because the driver is really 10 minutes away and you would get a cancellation fee?
Here is my story; Tonight the Lyft application out of the blue started saying that my location was inaccurate and that I am using spoofing software. I am not. I do not have anything installed at all. Soon they will disable my account for nothing? Just perfect, way to go and waste a 4.9+ rated driver.
What happened? My LG G5's gps his horrible and I bounce around all the time.

Definitely a option now uber are not showing Waybills until you're near pickup.
We've got a small airport here where I live. In order to be in que, you have to be in a small parking lot with about 40 spaces.
Sometimes I come in and there's 3 or 4 people in the que but only one person (and myself) actually parked there.
Then, I'll see someone else come in after me and leave before me, and I'll see one person fall out of the que.
These people are spoofing their location to the que lot while they drive to the lot in the hopes that by the time they arrive, they will be near the top of the que and they don't have to wait like the rest of us.
That means you have an oversatuation market
Spoofing your GPS, is hard to be track if anyone does use it.. there no way your phone company or uber can track that your spoofing your GPS locations. Not even the government as a way to track if a person is using it. If you are Caught by doing that, then the driver is dumb to be 10 min from that. Now if a driver does do that get the cancellation fee. He pretty much getting him deactivate from his account.
Claudio Baltodano yeah exactly but now uber done something and you can fake location in London anymore. It just signs you off and you need to wait about 10 15 min.
It is not accurate, your cell phone provider knows which cell towers you are connecting to and if your transmitted location is not matching correct cell tower they know you are faking location. Both Uber and Lift are now working with cell providers to obtain that information. Uber will give fake gps users one warning and if they use it again will deactivate them permanently. I talked to drivers who got caught this way. It then took them several months of going to Uber hub and begging to get back before Uber allowed them to work again. It is not worth the trouble, do not fake your location!
This is absolutely incorrect and that's coming from someone working in cybercrime. There are tons of methods companies can verify your location without GPS and they use these methods to cross-reference if the gps is accurate. For instance, I could use the google database of all wifi hotspots to see that your cell phone just passed a specific starbucks; even though your gps says you're 2 miles, I know you're near the starbucks. Hell, I've even tracked someone by using the phones ability to sense magnetism to prove where they were in relation to the MAGNETIC FIELD OF THE EARTH. So yeah, literally nothing you said is accurate.

Any experience with external bluetooth gps? Can we use that with uber?
Do you mean using another GPS while having Uber’s running? I’m a passenger and I always tell drivers to ignore the directions that thing gives. I swear they are trying to make them waste gas money. I always tell them to get another GPS so they can actually get where they are going period. I had a ride a couple weeks ago that should have taken less than ten minutes. It took 25 and neither of us knew where we bloody were half way through and had to turn around. By the time we got on my road it always tells them to take constant random side roads even if we are less than a quarter mile from my place. It’s awful…I wish I had any sense of direction so I could help them more. I’d pull up my GPS, but I really enjoy being friendly and getting to know the person. Somehow I’m still a 5 star passenger despite the fact I’ve almost ended up in Canada getting lost with my drivers…I feel so bad.
Fake GPS, is not an issue, the people that use them for shit purposes like that, that's a problem. There's nothing wrong with faking your location for minor things like Pokemon Go, but something like this is a just fucking around with people

The problem is that many of these drivers that use fake GPS do so with impunity because even if they do get deactivated, they'll just change their name, identity, grab a new Social Security number, And be right back up on the platform under a different name probably within a week. So even if Uber deactivate drivers, it is only a short term solution. If Uber gets serious about solving this problem they will assign somebody to the LAX parking lot and monitor how many people are coming in and instantly getting a ride versus the ones who are actually getting into the airport queue and using it as they should. It's the only way to permanently solve this problem. Permanently ban not just the drivers, but permanently remove the vehicles by their TCP numbers. This way another driver can't come along and easily replace the ones that got banned. It'll also encourage fleet owners to ensure the drivers are not using this fake GPS because they don't want to lose their black license. Hopefully, they will also eliminate the ability to buy a black license on the black market. Otherwise, that won't even help. They'll just buy another black license with a different TCP number and be back in business quickly.
Don Poole you cannot use a fake SSN, they will know when they do background checks.
Ultimate007Trini unfortunately, the background check is a joke. It would be very easy to pass a background check with a new SSN that is already been validated. There are a number of ways to do this, but I don't want to give anybody ideas to copy.
The background check that requires fingerprinting in an FBI background check is much harder to beat, but to still be done if you're willing to pay enough money. The people who are Crooks we'll just find a way to get around getting deactivated.
And as far as them cracking down on Fake GPS, just check the LAX holding lot between 2 and 5 am. The lot is closed at that time but you will usually see between 2 and 5 vehicles in that parking lot. So is Uber really cracking down on Fake GPS? Or possibly they are paying for the privilege of being at the airport all the time and getting all the rides like they do to get black licenses even when it's closed. I do believe the LA Uber office is that crooked.
