Hey Brother! Roland, I am a Disabled Army Combat Veteran, and I just found out you are a veteran as well. Thank you for your service, Brother. I just started following you, and I subscribe to your fishing show. I just bought the Favorite Defender with the 2000 Defender spinning reel and love them. Respectfully, Scott
Okay you literally just broke down pretty much all of bass fishing in less than 20 minutes where I’ve been watching fishing videos for the last 5 years 😂😂😂
I hesitated before clicking because I’m not a huge fan of promotional videos. But I was happy to hear your great tips interspersed with your promotion of the rods. That’s how it should be done. You’ve made me aware of a good rod and I’ve walked away with lots of tips I can apply whether or not I buy the rod. Thanks Roland!
My first time bass fishing ever last month... Now I own a bass boat!!! 🤣😂🤣 I watch A LOT of you tube and discovered you since my recent intro to bass fishing 🎣... You’re my ALL-TIME FAVORITE UA-cam(r) keep up the great content 🤩
I have watched videos of you over the years and I really enjoy your technique I enjoy watching Bill dance and there might be a couple of others but I really like your technique and the information that you give on a ride a real what type of line to use and the lures I really enjoyed thank you very much
Mr. Martin, I am the late arrival to fishing and am still learning how to present a lure and vary my casting techniques, but I sure am grateful that you contribute so much content/insight to the sport and live the example of a passionate human. Cheers and salute.
I'm very tempted to try this particular Pro series. At this point I dont care about the You Tubers who started these. 30 ton Toray blanks usually hold up well and I'm loving the real seat.
I don't own a favorite rod yet . A friend of mine has one he loves it . I'll definitely be getting one soon . Great video Roland and great tips as well. Stay safe my friend and God Bless.
i know you have used the senko and seen you catch a bunch of biggins on them...i've tried the 297 as well as other colors and other brands of stick baits. Being up here in Indiana, I cannot catch anything on a stick bait...even went to loaded private ponds to try and get some confidence in them and doesn't seem to work for me...but glad they work for you.
I like the style fishing you have called power fishing. I liken it to my deer hunting. I hunt thick woods. I fish brush and shorelines,. I’m not much on open water fishing, unless I’m trolling for crappie or stripe bass. I guess it’s my attention span being so short. Growing up I was raised by a solid fisherman, my dad. I was a catfish, brim and crappie fisherman and strippers when they were running up the canals and in open water. A good friend of mine and an division one football head coach said I was a junk fisherman. My response was, I catchum to eat, not throw back. We were good friends though. My dad taught me to catch 20lb cats on 6lb line. His thinking was that if I got hung up I could just break the line. I didn’t lose big fish, he taught me to set the drag and fight the fish till he was give out. I might lose a 40lb humpback blue, or a quick big flathead (yellow cat) but most of the time I could land them. But you like braid and I have seen the difference in the casting of braid. What do you do if you are hung on a deep log or structure you can’t get loose from? Cut your lone or do you manage to still get it loose sometimes?
Never too old in regards to learning. So my advice is, learn to provide hyper links in your YT video summaries that take us directly to your preferred source of referred products. For one, I had a slightly annoying problem in locating a 'Solis' baitcaster. Then I tried Solus, as enunciated. No go. Souless didn't seem appropriate. Then I eventually got lucky and found out that the product name is spelled, "Soleus." Call me lazy or call yourself richer for this piece of marketing advice. Thank you for your service and to all the men and women that served the U.S.A. armed forces. 🇺🇲 👍 TFS
Not really sold on Favorite rods. I’ll stick to my Lews and Ark rods. Never had a single issue with either of them. And 149.00 price point is mildly high IMO for an unproven rod. But I grew up watching Roland and still love that guy. SON!!!!
I am sold on that. On the Pro Series page it says - Lifetime Warraty, but at the Warranty description Pro Series are not mentioned. Are these rods covered by Lifetime Warranty indeed?
I usually use mono but I've been throwing a hollow body frog lately and thinking of changing to braid , can't I use 20lb braid and have strength and long cast
All the top frog fisherman that I've met, maybe 50 fishermen use a minimum of 50# braid and the very best ones like Dean Rojas and Ish Monroe use nothing but 65#!
Okay I like to refer to you has been a pro mr. Martin have you ever fished like Lanier and what would be some of the better baits to use in the early morning or in the late evening on lake Lanier I live here in Georgia so Lanier is the closest lake to me and I fish a little more on the chestatee side then I do the Chattahoochee so I'm just asking a question and I think you would probably be the best equipped to answer it maybe but

I use a lot of braid and body wrap it when I'm hung up!
Ok. I saw you do that once demonstrating the line strength. I’ll remember that!
Should put the links in the description! 😀
Sorry, saw your post after I made a similar suggestion.
Okay Roland, tell us the story about the whitetail. Nice!!!
They look like nice rods Ill have to get a one or two or three
Just got one thanks!
Please share more info on leaders....especially the length you prefer. Thanks!

Mr. Martin why wouldn't we want to use a 6:1 reel for worm fishing when everyone says work fishing should be done slowly?
When the fish runs at you..you have to get the line in quick -)

Good point
Which brand is your casting reel?
Favorite
I want it
I can't find the 7'0 medium-fast action rod on The web site for Favorite??
Seen them at Ganders.
I wish I could do the things he can do.....he can fish..hunt...and plenty more...
I like you Roland ... but being the rod snob I am - no way does favorite make my cut .. love 💕 your videos though 😉.. grew up with you and bill dance
How long of a liter do you normally use Roland?
2-3 feet
have u ever fished with bill dance on same boat ?
Sure
What kind of hooks and rod is this?😃
Roland never took recess... cause he don't play no games... the g.o.a.t
Ugly Stik...PERIOD
💯💪🏾💯💪🏾💯💪🏾💯💯
You guys need to lower the price. 150 for a medium 6'8 is tough
Text Winston Tucker, the head cheese at Favorite USA!
How about a discount for your family.😀
Ask them
How could you guys forget the bait keeper???? Really??
I don't care for a bait keeper! I keep getting the main line from the reel tangled on the keeper!
@@RolandMartinOutdoors You could of put one on the bottom part of the rod. lol
@@RolandMartinOutdoors I do like the rod though. Nothing a cali clip won't fix.
Made in Chy-Nah?
Winston is moving all his manufacturing to the US by 2021
@@RolandMartinOutdoors Thanks! I'll wait until then to buy one.
To bad they overpriced foreign mad crap. Ill stick with made in USA st.croix rods.
only 399.99
149 not 399. The Hex is 399.
@@lyndeen I stand corrected
