I actually have an evinrude still. I love it. I'm looking at a new motor but until mine breaks I'll run it. It would be cool to have an evinrude sticker from my favorite pro. Also, good luck for next year.
SHO for the win! I'd love the sticker to commemorate to your ability to make sweet lemonade out of what was a sour situation, lol.....sub'd, smashed and shared as always brother
That’s all I run, and yes indeed if you follow the break-in procedures in the manual you will have issues making oil. One motor took almost 80 hours to seat the rings because I followed the break-in to a tee. First two hours run it but don’t pin it more than 5 minutes, just vary the RPMs, and run it with the motor tucked down all the way to put the best load on it. After two hours run it like 100 boats are heading to your first fishing hole 👍
Scott I have a Yamaha on the back of my boat. I’ve been running it since 2016 I love it have not had one minutes trouble with its a great motor your going to love it!
Good call on the Yamaha, Scott. My dad was a commercial fisherman and put over 15,000 hours on his Yamaha before he replaced it. It was still running good when he replaced it too but he was just nervous about the amount of hours on it. Only maintenance he had to do were oil changes, spark plug changes, and clean the injectors. I think that you will be very happy with your new engine!
In order to fully break in those sho motors you need to just pin it. I had problems with mine “making oil” and that was because I wasn’t hammering down on it so the rings can seat properly.
Congratulations! I believe you Both will be very happy! I know you haven't been making alot of Bass fishing vlogs, that's ok, Miss Hilary has done a great job filling in!! I enjoy your salt water vlogs as well! Prayers for everyone's safety dealing with these two hurricanes coming in! Excited to see what ya got coming in the fall! Take care be safe! Much Respect
One day I want a new motor for my boat. Got my first bass boat 3 years ago. Its a Champion 203 with a 1998 225 merc optipop......I mean optimax excuse me. Anyways finally saved for the boat and the motor has been nothing but a headache. Had to get towed out of 6 tourneys so far with a breakdown. Hopefully within the next 10 years I can save for a decent up to date motor so I can feel comfortable going out. Love the yamahas I think you'll enjoy it for sure. Good decision
Imo there’s not really a bad motor out there, I ran Johnson years ago. Then ran evinrude, then Yamaha and currently, am running mercury. No complaints on any of them
nice my dad has a 30 year old Yamaha 200 on a 21' 80 something champion. and we got some wor done like replacing the whole carberater and fuel line and stuff recently but it still runs fine.
As soon as you said that they have been around for awhile and that they are reliable I knew exactly what it was going to be. Congrats on the new motor!
Hey scott I would love the evinrude sticker! I’ve been watching for about 3 years now! I am 14 years old and is growing into the sport of bass fishing! Great choice of the Yamaha! TEAM SMC BABY! 👊🏼 🐟
I’ve had both Evinrude and Yamaha and by far the Yamaha has been a dream. I have a 175hp Yamaha HPDI 2003 model. I bought it new and I fish 2-3 times a week on average. I have a lead foot and run the hell out of that motor . It’s never given me any problems .....
Scott is sponsored by Garmin as well all know and Garmin make Yamaha's Engine displays, so it was a no brainer why he is now with Yamaha. What a beast of a bass boat and hopefully when he re-powers his big boat he puts 4x 425hp Yamaha's on it because who wouldn't love to see that!!!
Yes Yamaha and you don't know it yet but probably next year you will be sporting a nice new FXR skeeter to go with that Yamaha p.s. They hold up well on Lake Champlain both engine and boat.
My grandpa was running a 60 evinrude on his old fiberglass boat from the 70s. Well over a thousand hours on that engine and it never once let us down. Sad to see evinrude go away.
Hey Scott: Great video as always. Sad to see the Evinrude go but congrats on your new deal with Yamaha. PS good luck on the rest of your tournament season...🚤⚓️🎣😎🐝
My first motor was a RUDE.41 years ago! Man,where does time disappear too? I still remember see Your pop,on Logan Martin in A Classic, around that same time!
glad you join the Yamaha Family. my Seaark has a 250 SHO Vmax, my center console has a 150 Vmax 2 stroke and have owned nothing but Yamahas for the last 30 years on my other boats. keep up the video content. kille em at the tourneys.
Scott: I’ve had a 50 HP 2 stoke Yamaha for 18 years. Only one minor repair in all that time. I winterize it myself and it runs like a charm. Easy to use, easy to care for, great mileage. In my case a low cost way to power my fishing boat. By the way I used it today and kept 13 beautiful bluegills for a fish fry. You’re welcome to join my family and I. Just let me know what works for you. 👍
Yamaha is the best motor out there and my dad has one on his skeeter which I think you should get bc the are slick and run over wakes like it’s nothing but love the choice of motor so much
Scott soo cool. I told you when I chartered in the Indian River in Sebastian. I had a Yamaha 150 and had over 2500 hours with no problems. I would have bet my life you would have went with Mercury but definitely love the decision of the Yamaha. You wont regret it for sure.
Glad you picked a Yamaha ...I’m looking at an aluminum Vexus next year and I’ll be going with Yamaha! By then you should have a bunch of +reviews! Go gettem Scott! 👍🏻😀
Man oh man, I hope you decide to fish the Neely Henry BASS Open in Oct. Even if I don't get lucky and paired up with you, just the opportunity to meet you would mean a lot. Since watching your dad when I was a kid to today watching Hil, the while line of Martins have been an inspiration.
Yami is a great engine. First saw at the Norwalk International Boat Show years ago. Dealer had it running and we couldn't tell. L.I. Sound friends say they are best Salt Water motor they have. Good luck.
Mercury makes a good reliable motor today. But can’t say that going back several decades. Yamaha has been making reliable motors since the 1980s. The old 2 stroke motors were bullet proof.
Conner English yeah. But IMHO the fuel injected isn’t as bullet proof and that’s goes for all companies. The old two strokes ARE bullet proof as they are still running. Lol. But I would chose a mid 2000s carburetored VMAX over the HPDIs.
I should get the Evinrude sticker because I run a 1990 Evinrude that still runs like a scalded cat. I have an ‘86 Winner that I have been restoring (while fishing it) and your E’rude sticker would be EPIC.
Heck with the old Evvy decal. How about a Yamaha Pro fishing cap, now that you're part of the family? I have ordered parts from those guys for years. Good to see where it all comes from. Good luck with that Yammy!
i bought a new bass boat in 1997 with a Mercury motor and i still have it and I had my first engine problem 2 years ago and it was minor. Wouldnt have any other power plant on my boat.
Scott running in all that grass in Florida make sure you keep an eye on the temp. gauge. I know 2 guys that cooked them on Okeechobee the last 2 winters I’ve been down and last week at home here on the Chesapeake on the Susquehanna flats a guy over heated one. Take care bud and stay safe.
What do you think of the Yamaha?? Drop me a comment why you should get the old evinrude carpet sticker 👊🏼
I am not done watching the video yet but I saw it on t last video 😜🤣 but I think u will love it Yamahas are awesome 😎
Scott Martin sweet
Scott Martin are you going to them on the freeman
I actually have an evinrude still. I love it. I'm looking at a new motor but until mine breaks I'll run it. It would be cool to have an evinrude sticker from my favorite pro. Also, good luck for next year.
SHO for the win! I'd love the sticker to commemorate to your ability to make sweet lemonade out of what was a sour situation, lol.....sub'd, smashed and shared as always brother
Never thought in a million years you would go with a Coleman 7.5.....congrats your gonna love it!! Pure power very quiet ...sips fuel.....Tight Lines!
Should’ve got a mercury🤦♂️
Looooolllllllll
Mybootynowlilboy- -gaming ur cappin
Mybootynowlilboy- -gaming I’m sorry but mercury sucks my cousins breaks down all the time
Awesome !!!! Welcome to the family!!! You won’t regret it
I’d love to give the sticker to my dad. He named me after evinrude motors when he had his old stratos back in 2000.
That’s all I run, and yes indeed if you follow the break-in procedures in the manual you will have issues making oil. One motor took almost 80 hours to seat the rings because I followed the break-in to a tee. I've heard of this before
I’m an old guy, Evinrude, Johnson & Mercury were kings. Sad day that Evinrude is no more.
Evinrude and johnson are the equivalent of saying GMC and Chevy (post 1960 ish)
My 1989 Johnson 88 Spl still runs like a top. We have a Yamaha kicker though too. I love them both!
My 94 Johnson runs like a bat outta hell! Has never had a rebuild EVER! Just had it serviced and compression test, all cylinders from 110-120psi...
Sad isn't it?
I have a 1986 60 horse evinrude that runs like a champ! Sad day in deed. My opinion the best motor on the water
We love all the videos Scott. I think the variety of the videos you have not just Tournament Fishing has elevated your Channel
It would have been funny if they edited it to say tohatsu when he pulled the blanket off of it😂
Priceless Outdoors imagine him pulling up to a tourney with 9.9
Scott, Glad to see you went with Yamaha. I love mine. Never have to worry about it not firing up at the ramp.
Congratulations! I believe you Both will be very happy! I know you haven't been making alot of Bass fishing vlogs, that's ok, Miss Hilary has done a great job filling in!! Knew it!! Love Yamaha! You won’t regret it! Gonna look reallll perrtty on the back of that freeman!
Perfect choice! I fished my 225 Yamaha hard for 10 years without a single issue.
One day I want a new motor for my boat. Got my first bass boat 3 years ago. Its a Champion 203 with a 1998 225 merc optipop......I mean optimax excuse me. Dude I knew you would go with Yamaha! That’s awesome engine bro! Godbless you man and hope you win all year with that thing man!
I knew it was going to be a yamaha...the shape of it in the thumbnail
Kinda looked like a big Suzuki ngl
TTV_PapiChulo they are similar in shape
TTV_PapiChulo Suzuki’s are slow. Bulletproof but super slow
Welcome to the yamaha club. You won't be disappointed
Yes Scott yessssss I liked you before but now even better
Yess welcome to being a Yamaha owner!! Mines 20 years old and runs like a champ!!
Mines 24 and just put a new power head on her she’s amazing
As soon as you said that they have been around for awhile and that they are reliable I knew exactly what it was going to be. Congrats on the new motor!
Yamaha & Suzuki OWN reliability ... especially in saltwater. Solid choice, Scott!
My daughter is 6 and loves fishing with me because I showed her videos of you and Hillary fishing. Love your channel man!
Great decision Scott! Glad to see you running the vmax!
You're going to enjoy that engine brotha!! Can't wait to see the full throttle video!!
325 hours on a 2018 250SHO. Not a single issue you’re gonna love it Scott!
My Yamaha is 8 years old and still kicking butt.
Hey scott I would love the evinrude sticker! I’ve been watching for about 3 years now! I am 14 years old and is growing into the sport of bass fishing! Great choice of the Yamaha! TEAM SMC BABY! 👊🏼 🐟
I knew it. Yami. They are great motors

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again the quality of your videos are on point! Very entertaining. Congrats on the new partnership!
I'm two years late but it still got me excited.
Welcome to the Yamaha family Scott. You will love it. I'm still hanging around waiting on me a Vice Versa hat lol.
Yes Yamaha and you don't know it yet but probably next year you will be sporting a nice new FXR skeeter to go with that Yamaha p.s. They hold up well on Lake Champlain both engine and boat.
We love our Sho. You gonna love it. Word of advice. Don’t take it to the Yamaha dealer in Okeechobee. You will regret it. Keep on fishing
Yamahahama it’s a beast, good choice Scott. I have The SHO 115, love it.
We love our 115 sho as well
My grandpa was running a 60 evinrude on his old fiberglass boat from the 70s. Well over a thousand hours on that engine and it never once let us down. Sad to see evinrude go away.
Resale value just went up on your boat. Best choice you could make going with a Yamaha! 👍👍
Super stoked on the Yama-Hammer.
So glad to see you went with yamaha! I run a 250 on my basscat and love it!
Tohotsu motors are bulletproof. Love them.
Tough times for the Martin clan.. Evinrude goes under and he signs a exclusive deal with Yamaha. Good to be the King!
Grandpa has a 1991 ranger with a 150 Yamaha ProV. Thing is a beast never has had a hiccup 30 years of fishing in it.
Are you going to put Yamaha’s on your freeman?
Heck yea🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 best motors imo!! Now it’s time to throw 4x 425 yami’s on the back of the freeman!!
They’re too heavy. Mercury’s 400 and 450 own that market.
I have to agree with David. Those XTOs are 1000lbs each.
R W can’t be scared boys!!! Send it!!
Thank you Scott, you switched to old faithful the yammy, I have a 98’ 115 2 stroke on my flats boat.
Excellent choice Scott! Yamaha is a staple up here in the Pacific Northwest on the saltwater.
You won’t be disappointed. Leader in power sports for years.
glad you join the Yamaha Family. my Seaark has a 250 SHO Vmax, my center console has a 150 Vmax 2 stroke and have owned nothing but Yamahas for the last 30 years on my other boats. keep up the video content. kille em at the tourneys.
YES! Great choice Scott. Here in Florida Yamaha rules!
Blu crew all gas no brakes, super sic ranger with the Yamaha
I digg the new motor ....when the next open for you?
Man I promise you’ll never regret that decision
COMPLETELY AGREE
Right.
Good on Ya! As a Ranger guy with a 225 HPDI.....Love it the decision-making 👌
A ranger with a yamaha....Is like pairing coke with peanuts
You will never regret the yammy! Good choice sir
Happy you went with a Yamaha. You definitely won't regret it.
Great choice 👌.. I've been running them since 1988 on my Rangers..
Scott: I’ve had a 50 HP 2 stoke Yamaha for 18 years. Only one minor repair in all that time. I winterize it myself and it runs like a charm. Easy to use, easy to care for, great mileage. I’m glad you went with Yamaha
Yamaha is the best motor out there and my dad has one on his skeeter which I think you should get bc the are slick and run over wakes like it’s nothing but love the choice of motor so much
Yea skeeter is the fastest and best bass boat brand
Yes Yamaha I’ve ran 3 of em and have had 0 problems
Scott soo cool. I told you when I chartered in the Indian River in Sebastian. I had a Yamaha 150 and had over 2500 hours with no problems. I would have bet my life you would have went with Mercury but definitely love the decision of the Yamaha. You wont regret it for sure.
SWEEEETTTTTTT. Congrats on the new motor, sponsors and partnership.
Glad you picked a Yamaha ...I’m looking at an aluminum Vexus next year and I’ll be going with Yamaha! By then you should have a bunch of +reviews!
Go gettem Scott! 👍🏻😀
Yamaha is a great motor.
Great choice! Mine has been bullet proof.
Yamaha makes the most reliable motor on the market and its not even a question
Good choice. You are gonna be happy with it.
Yami is a great engine. First saw at the Norwalk International Boat Show years ago. Dealer had it running and we couldn't tell. L.I. Sound friends say they are best Salt Water motor they have. Good luck.
And now you must rewrap the truck, boats and change carpet... hahaha
Hell yesssssss. I was like this is going to be a terrible merc but no what a shocker! Yamy all the way!!!
that's the best motor ever. you made the right decision.
I will take the sticker Scott. And nice motor
We got our first Yamaha last year. Love it!
Great choice with the Bob's Jackplate! 🎣
Thats big ass motor
Yamaha wasn’t expecting that
That is still one of the best looking boats I have seen on the water. Great looking Ranger Scott
Mercury makes a good reliable motor today. But can’t say that going back several decades. Yamaha has been making reliable motors since the 1980s. The old 2 stroke motors were bullet proof.
quite literally and don't ask me how I know that lol.
What do you mean ‘were’ they still are!
Conner English yeah. But IMHO the fuel injected isn’t as bullet proof and that’s goes for all companies. The old two strokes ARE bullet proof as they are still running. Lol. But I would chose a mid 2000s carburetored VMAX over the HPDIs.
I have a 2002 skeeter that had a 200 Yamaha and it was her last year running. It blew up while I was going fast.
The ox66 is one of the best ever made
I know they're reliable! BUT is it as fast?
I knew it, chuffed to bits with your choice!
Great choice Scott, the Yamaha vmax 250 is faster than mercs, and also more reliable
Tohatsu has been around for years and currently they go up to 250hp. But most people are more familiar with their smaller outboards.
Your going to love that four stroke
Yes sir kicking my birthday month off right
Knock knock! Who there? Yamaha
I should get the Evinrude sticker because I run a 1990 Evinrude that still runs like a scalded cat. I have an ‘86 Winner that I have been restoring (while fishing it) and your E’rude sticker would be EPIC.
We were thinking Merc but that Yamommaha(as my kids call it🤣) looks really sweet on the boat no doubt! We are very excited for some tourney vids!🤙👊
Excellent Choice.
CONGRATULATIONS Scott.
Now Catch some BASS.
Wish you nothing but the best. I love my Yamaha wont buy anything else. Now with that being said, are you joining the Skeeter family next year??????
Heck with the old Evvy decal. How about a Yamaha Pro fishing cap, now that you're part of the family? I have ordered parts from those guys for years. Good to see where it all comes from. Good luck with that Yammy!
i bought a new bass boat in 1997 with a Mercury motor and i still have it and I had my first engine problem 2 years ago and it was minor. Wouldnt have any other power plant on my boat.

Great choice scott and great vid hope the motor never gives you any trouble
