- Innova Auto sent me over the new 5610 ODB2 bidirectional scan tool to chek out. This is a full and complete feature test and demo of the tool on my 2007 Ford F150 truck.

I bought an Innova 5610 in January 2024 from Amazon and I got a nice soft case and a 121 page English language manual. You can’t beat this tool for its capabilities vs price.
I agree, very good tool!
STFT means Short Term Fuel Trim and LTFT means Long Term Fuel Trim (more important). STFT and LTFT work in tandem to maintain a precise air-fuel ratio. STFT handles immediate fluctuations, while LTFT adapts the base fuel delivery based on long-term trends. Ideally, both values should stay close to 0%, indicating a perfect air-fuel mixture of 14.7 parts of air to 1 part of fuel (i.e. 14.7:1). Significant deviations (+/- 10% or more; less than +/-10% is within spec) might indicate underlying issues with the engine or its sensors.
So if the LTFT is at +15%, it means the upstream 02 sensor(s) (the ones before the catalytic converter; the "downstream" O2 is between the CAT and the exhaust tailpipe) was detecting more air than fuel (i.e. a lean condition), the PCM (or ECU/ECM) then tells the STFT to add more fuel (i.e. PCM gives a "Rich command" to the STFT) to balance it out until it gets back to 14.7:1. If that's done long enough, the LTFT adjusts in the positive direction to add (+) more fuel resulting in a higher LTFT (e.g. 15%) and saves it to memory (PCM/ECU/ECM). Then the STFT has a new baseline to work from, in this case +15% from the LTFT until the issue(s) is resolved. Vice versa if the LTFT is -15%).
Thanks for the video. Just bought one myself.
Right on, thanks for posting the info!
26:08 You can highlight another graph, and when you superimpose them, you can overlay them. So they are on the same graph. 1 graph multiple pids.
Right on!
Pro tip: Innova’s 5610 is exactly the same as Harbor Freights Zurich ZR15s (cheaper).
You’re welcome ☺️
Right on
Thanks for the video, I just bought this scanner, but it hasn’t came in yet
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice review.
Have you come across a better bi-directional scanner than this with battery test capabilities that do not require subscriptions?
Also, how do you take a video of yourself without holding the camera? I need something similar to explain doing things for my kids remotely.
No, I think this is the best non subscription scanner I have tested. I would recommend it. I just hold the camera in one hand.
Does this do a EGR Reset ? How about Reset for Fuel Pump ? Fuel Pressure ? How about Compression test for Sparks and Plugs ? Can you used a Wifi hotspot to do a live data ? How do you updates this scan tool ? Can you updatw through wifi hotspot ?
I'm not sure on all of these things. I would recommend looking at the website from the manufacturer for a list of all the features.
why does it ask 'is this your vehicle?'
To make sure it auto selected the correct one from your VIN.
You do think it’s better than the blue driver obd
Yes, much better.
I have a 5610 I think they made Heck of a sale pitch I could have gotten a scan tool that programmerable ecm and all other modules for a little more $$$..
@@ronclaman156 but those need subscription and they are touchscreen crap.
WILL THE 5610 DO WINDOW TEST???????????
Depends on your car, but I don't think any body control modules control the power window system.
