Fun story: Tobias never wanted to be the singer of Ghost. When he wrote the first album his intentions were to play guitar and sing background vocals. He actually asked a lot of famous Swedish rock singers but everyone said no. So he did the vocals on the demo just to have something and mimicked the singer Messiah Marcolin style of singing. Tobias thought it wouldn't matter since it was just a demo but as no one wanted to do the actual recorded vocals the mimic singing style ended up on the actual album. Since then Tobias has evolved dramatically as a singer and now has his own style.
Thank you for this. Roky Erikson wrote this about his own mental health problems; he had schizophrenia. Tobias decided to cover the song because I believe he knows a lot of Ghost fans have their own issues, whether it is mental health, feeling alone or isolated. In the Ghost movie *Rite Here Rite Now,* released June 2024, there is a truly _wonderful_ version of this song, sung live with a chamber orchestra in Los Angeles on a small stage, in the middle of a normal concert. It is spine-tingling, if you get the chance to see it.
Honestly, the best live❤ version of this song is from the Ghost concert movie Rite Here Rite Now, there is a full clip of it on UA-cam, it has a piano and opera singer in it. BTW the Rite Here Rite Now movie is probably the best live concert I've seen of Ghost, well worth it if you're a Ghost fan.
Please listen to Jigolo Har Megiddo from this same acoustic session, his voice will amaze you! You're both so lovely & I always appreciate your Ghost reactions, thank you ❤
Check out the newest version. There is a video of this song Live at the Forum from the filming of the movie Rite Here Rite Now. It's a chamber version with cellos, piano, and an opera singer. It's quite beautiful 😍. If you think this is good, you'll be gobsmacked 😊❤
As has been mentioned Roky Erikson had some serious mental health issues. My favorite song of his is "Two Headed Dog." Given your close proximity to Russia I thought it might be an interesting song for you to listen to sometime. It's really just a good old rock song. In the 1950's a Soviet Russian Scientist, Vladimir Demikhov, created two headed dogs. His work was centered around organ transplanting.

Such an underappreciated genius.

Ghost originally released this electric, which is amazing, but this one is PERFECTION! great choice!
