I see with joy your taste for this music, that time of the 70s and 80s was epic in music, and it is very nice to see that young people like you like these songs. Receive a cordial greeting.
Ah... the maestro at work. Yes, big music is a great description. Multi layered music that reveals more layers with each and every listen. Jeff Lynne is a genius. The E.L.O. rabbit hole goes deep. Thank you for a wonderful reaction to the band that I have grown up with for the past 45 years 👍😊
Hello sweetie, You're right today's music isn't really music I grew up in the 70s 80s 90s and that is when real music in your terms was at it had soul!
I came to the world of ELO with their album 'A New World record', I am fascinated by their symphonic rock. Thank you for this tribute, what memories !!, with this life is more pleasant. Bye Beautiful.
I stay away from UA-cam for a week ,and right on my way back I realize you reacted to some ELO :-) They have been my favorite band with The Beatles (but not the only ones that I love!) since I was a teenager in the early 80s. Jeff Lynne is one of a kind !!! Will be delighted to see your next reactions of ELO. Not a request at all, but I think one of the least reacted gems is Shangri-La. Take care my dear Psyche !
Hello M Welcome back! I did miss you and was wondering where you were - I would have sent you a message to see if you were ok, which I tend to do with some subscribers who are in touch regularly, as I actually 'do' care x. Did you come off it on purpose or just busy? Anyhow, I'm glad you're back, even if just to say 'hello' and check in. ELO are fabulous - their views were low which I didn't expect but that's fine I love the song - I will show another......☺️. Have a fabulous week 🙋🏽♀️🌹✨
Jeff's still go it! You also got it goin on all day and night ;) Everyday of the week I'm in love. Great observation on ELO's music, and I always thought they were really special and one of a kind when I first heard them as a kid. Can't wait for the next ELO video ;)
Lovely reaction, now you’ve warmed up with that, try the lovey dovey telephone line from the same concert Wembley or bust. I’ll have a virtual smooch with you 😁😍💐💐
Cheeky ☺️ - but I've taken the bouquet of virtual flowers - thank you! 😁...I actually don't take requests as I don't get paid to do that plus I give an 'enormous' amount of my time for free so people can watch for free and can't encroach on any more of my time as I need to earn a living - hence people treat the channel to cups of coffee which is in appreciation of all the work I do and to help me shuffle along - my channel is very different to everyone else which is good - doing it my way. No Patreon etc, just me doing me I guess 🌹 and I want to make it inclusive for 'everyone'.
We seem from the same era. You said it all in relation to our era versus more modern renderings. I’ll only add that those from today whom cover yesterday’s tracks can imitate the sound, duplicate the lyrics, but never equate the spiritual atmosphere employed in the original’s creation. In essence: though I can sing Elvis, it doesn’t make me Elvis 😉
Hi Michael, thank you for your comment. I too hate 'liver' and when I was made to eat it I felt exactly the same as you! Have a wonderful Sunday. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️ 🌹
Don't forget that there wouldn't have been an Electric Light Orchestra without Roy Wood. In 1968 when Woody was writing hit records for The Move the bands musical arranger Tony Visconti was adding a string quartet to Woody's songs, "The Girl Outside", "Mist on a Monday Morning" and "Cherry Blossom Clinic" were given the Visconti strings treatment. Woody liked the sound that Visconti had given to his songs, so he thought wouldn't it be great to have a basic four piece rock band with their own integral string section instead of paying session musicians to play the classical string passages. At that time Woody realised that he would like to lead such a band after The Move had gone as far as it could go musically and he thought up the name Electric Light Orchestra for his new band. In 1970 Woody enlisted Jeff Lynne from The Idle Race to assist him in starting his ELO project and winding down The Move. Wood and Lynne started recording ELO material in July 1970, it would be another seventeen months before the ELO's self titled debut album was finally released to the record buying public. Due to a dispute between Roy Wood and ELO's management over the future direction of the bands music in the Spring of 1972, Wood resigned from ELO and formed the larger than life Glam Rock band Wizzard.
STUNNING comments - wow! Thank you David. So many people read the comments and this is good. I want to build a Community where everyone can tap into each others knowledge - the best way to learn in my opinion - thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time and effort which is sorely missing these days. KIND! Have a wonderful weekend David and keep safe, healthy and above happy. Thank you for your support - incredible x Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🌹✨x
@@psycheinc-theSLC Thank you for your wonderful reply, I've been a fan of both Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne since 1967. I've been lucky enough to meet Roy on eight occasions since 2010, he is a really down to earth and genuine man who always had time for his fans. Roy still performs winter tours around the UK with the Roy Wood Rock & Roll Band, it's a nine piece outfit with four saxophonists. Roy postponed his touring in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, but he'll be back on the road again in December 2022. I've never met Jeff Lynne, but my brother has in 1976 in Manchester, UK. Thank you for your review of the live at Wembley version of "Evil Woman". Stay safe and stay well. Best Regards, David.
