What do you do when you read a book for a book club that you feel you just can't continue?
I was in a book club a few years back that had no specific theme, we just took turns in choosing a book to read. At one point one person chose a book that none of the other, including me, could continue... It was just horrific. And we all felt so bad when he came to the book club when we were supposed to talk about it but no one had surpassed 100 pages and he had annotated the whole thing and loved it.🩺
Even for book clubs, I'll not finish it if I'm not enjoying the book. I'm a big supporter of only read books you enjoy or if you're having fun hate reading it, but reading is subjective! And I always try to mention that when negatively reviewing a book.
