I'm thinking of getting one but looking at it he's only plowing about 7 inches I know it's wet but I want to make sure I'm buying the right thing, I'm not being a knob head I really love them.
Hay George thanks for a amazing video it's the one thing I love to watch is our local farmer plow and then u gave me this video so I can see it any time :) thanks mate
Looks like it could do with a little extra weight on the front. I also expected it to turn sharper with 4 wheel steer, although I'd guess a front weight would help it pull round a little, but I think my Puma could turn sharper
Great video George, looks like the jcb 4000 handle that well even if it was a bit sticky , when the ground is sticky like that what is best in or out of the furrow in your opinion?
kandylandfarms The idea is to not let it dry out too much, plus, we use power harrows a lot over here. Also, after ploughing, as the soil is drying, the clots break down into smaller ones, so when you get on with the power harrow the soil is a lot easier to knock down, and if you're only planting cereal crops, there is no need to go too deep, ploughing only needs to be around 6 inches deep, so you only need to work the soil a few inches deep with the power harrow. A lot of the time you can just go straight on with the drill if conditions allow. We only use a 6 meter Vaderstad, but here in Yorkshire we have a lot of small fields and some steep hills. Our biggest tractor is a Fendt 936, our farming methods are quite different to the USA, and Australia. Ultimately, we need to get on while conditions allow, not always perfect, but we have to make do.
a young farmer here..was just wondering does it cost to have new machines like that on demo?? I've always seen small farms with the latest big equipment that cost a pretty penny
who I'd imagine that they were putting the fastrac to the test while they have the chance on demo. I don't think they were doing a lot of ploughing, they only stuck to one corner of the field. seeing what the tractor is capable of
hello, forgive me my poor language. i have question about Dowdeswell plough, semimounted one, 6 furrow. i'd like to plogh 16 cm deep 35cm wide 6 furrow with Valtra T133 (153 engine soft) do You recomend dowdeswell plough??
Great video again George. A tad wet and no weights but still doing well. How times have changed though. We used to run a Case 5150 with a 5 furrow plough and heavy furrow press. 125 hp pulling all that on heavy ground and nowadays folk want 200hp + with same equipment. 🚜💨
Codbuster 69 Thats what I seem to think, to do the same thing but you need more horsepower, maybe its because the land has been worked a lot over time and also bigger machines are compacting it more. Also this kvenerland might be running at 15" and you might have only been 12".
It's just the way everyone is going having a bigger tractor as some equipment is larger. Yes you're right plough is 12" furrows but the press weighs one and a half ton which is the equivalent to pulling another two furrows so the old girl did well pulling 7 furrows. Don't miss the tractor now , the seat was awful towards the end but it had done 15000 hrs !!
Jasus its very wet to be out ploughing, also reversing over the plowed ground is a big no no, should of given himself a bigger headland, I also notice did'nt mark out the headland before starting.I'm not the best ploughman by any stretch of the imagination but these are basic things to do.
Bloody kv's never want to turn over unless your swinging round at full speed, I saw it happen to them 2 or 3 times, our 5 furrow drives me insane, but then again I've only got 135hp on mine
Scott Dawe it winds me right up, and I've only ploughed 20 acres with it in the last year, used a rabe when I helped out a local farmer, turns over great but it never stayed in the ground because it weighs about as much as I do
Let's some air out of the tyres buddy. Doing a good job though, thr fastrac, think 5 furrows would be plenty on that without weights. Keep fucking in though
Its a shame Henry didn't put the plough in the ground to try the fastrac out, down by the river nice loamy soil, I don't think you see John aka the legend plough like that, I am a fan of yours and wes olf,
George keep up the good work love the videos 👍. . . but that ploughing is dreadful. . someone needs to sit that young man up on there knee and teach them how to plough . . driving over the ploughed ground, dragging the plough around corners . . as we say in ireland " it looks shite" 😂 also if it was only going for cover crops instead of ploughing 4" just use the disk
It looks like it's too wet to be doing it to be honest. I think they we're more bothered about seeing if the tractor could handle the plough than ploughing neatly
Chocolatecake2001 Ah now if the were looking to test the tractor with the plough attached the could of least ploughed down maybe 9" to 11" and not having the plough drizzle across the sod. . what they've done there isn't even testing the tractor with the plough.
it was ploughing at about 12" on the first few furrows but the plough obviously wasn't set up for the jcb and they didn't want to if they were only doing a test whats the point if it just has to be adjusted when it goes back on the other tracor

For a tractor that had no front weight attached, it handled that plough quite well.
It's neat seeing Kverneland-plows beeing so common. They are actuallt all made half an hour from where I live!
This is very great George! Good work!!
No additional block weight at the front! Amazing!
That's a really nice video of the JCB ploughing.
Considering the conditions and no weight block on the front and with 6 furrows, 4220 performed brilliantly.
I'm thinking of getting one but looking at it he's only plowing about 7 inches I know it's wet but I want to make sure I'm buying the right thing, I'm not being a knob head I really love them.
Hay George thanks for a amazing video it's the one thing I love to watch is our local farmer plow and then u gave me this video so I can see it any time :) thanks mate
fantastic tractor of what that machine can do it is a winner George great video of that awesome tractor.
That turbo sounded awesome running at full throttle with or without a load.
Nice video George.
That's a mighty plough for those conditions!
looks like it performed well . Some beast is the 4220
very impressive without a front weight! I had a 3t SUMO on a 215R with a 1.25t front weight and was still dancing!!
Where y'all at y'all do it the same but it's a bit different than around here
Nice action George, must be powerfull that JCB
Looks like that JcB is doing all it can do to handle that LiL bottom plow.. lol good video!!
Great one George thanks for the vids 👍
you guys always do everything when it is so wet out
johndeereman It's the U.K. It's always wet.
ok
Really like your videos george even when they the headlands first! lol
Problem with ploughing in the mud, is that you get the tyres muddy, then when you go down the road..... At least you got the mould-boards shiny.
why you guys in UK plow when it is so wet here in the USA (atleast my area Ohio) if you plow ground to wet its Hell to get it to break up with a disk
kandylandfarms if you keep waiting for it to dry out before you know it, it's the end of April and you still ain't got no crops sown! the UK is wet
and a lot of people over here use power harrows which have no problem with hard sods
kandylandfarms won't dry if you don't turn it over in the uk
kandylandfarms The idea is to not let it dry out too much, plus, we use power harrows a lot over here. Also, after ploughing, as the soil is drying, the clots break down into smaller ones, so when you get on with the power harrow the soil is a lot easier to knock down, and if you're only planting cereal crops, there is no need to go too deep, ploughing only needs to be around 6 inches deep, so you only need to work the soil a few inches deep with the power harrow. limpinferret uk ploughs flip sods, not clods, just saying
She looks a bit bouncy without a front weight, although I imagine that deck weight is helping a bit.
howe is the boze liking the JCB George ??
a young farmer here..was just wondering does it cost to have new machines like that on demo?? I've always seen small farms with the latest big equipment that cost a pretty penny
A lot of plough behind a modest sized tractor. Bloody wet enough, wheel slip a little high without weights, pulled well in drier parts
is this chaps second time plowing ?
where are your ploughing videos?
great video george thanks
do you get to have a go George??....
looks awfully wet for plowing, still enjoyed seeing the little bit of wheel spin, the tractor growling.
Yeah but it's so much fun when you're playing with other people's toys, especially when they're the dealer's toys.
BarnyardEngineering 👍👍
who I'd imagine that they were putting the fastrac to the test while they have the chance on demo. I don't think they were doing a lot of ploughing, they only stuck to one corner of the field. seeing what the tractor is capable of
I am surprised you don't have a three point on the front with a power harrow. I see a lot of U.K. Videos with them on.
Keep up the great videos
Do having the smaller rear wheels hurt it much in these kind of conditions?
hello, forgive me my poor language. i have question about Dowdeswell plough, semimounted one, 6 furrow. i'd like to plogh 16 cm deep 35cm wide 6 furrow with Valtra T133 (153 engine soft) do You recomend dowdeswell plough??
is the back wheel smaller than the front?
Great video again George. A tad wet and no weights but still doing well. How times have changed though. We used to run a Case 5150 with a 5 furrow plough and heavy furrow press. 125 hp pulling all that on heavy ground and nowadays folk want 200hp + with same equipment. 🚜💨

If it was considerably cheaper than a Fendt or John Deere then maybe but can't see the secondhand value being anywhere near the other two
That's impressive - 6 furrows with it being that wet.
surely you'd want a weight for that plow? seems a smidge silly to do it without one
Why weren't the moldboards greased?
The conditions are quite bad. It's better to stay at home!
Will the boss get you one????
Jasus its very wet to be out ploughing, also reversing over the plowed ground is a big no no, should of given himself a bigger headland, I also notice did'nt mark out the headland before starting.I'm not the best ploughman by any stretch of the imagination but these are basic things to do.
A good ploughman doesnt need to mark out
Working depth 15cm?!
23cm
@@GeorgeSaunders Sorry George, but Your double meter stick must have lost a few centimeters! 😊
Do you still have the 7270?
nice video good work
Nice setup. Could need some weight in the front tho.
6" deep why not just disk
what depth do you plough?? 10cm? :/
Surprised it didn't need weight on the front for that 6 furrow...
Bloody kv's never want to turn over unless your swinging round at full speed, I saw it happen to them 2 or 3 times, our 5 furrow drives me insane, but then again I've only got 135hp on mine
RB Farms we have the same trouble with ours at work do ya swede in won't it
Scott Dawe it winds me right up, and I've only ploughed 20 acres with it in the last year, used a rabe when I helped out a local farmer, turns over great but it never stayed in the ground because it weighs about as much as I do
.......so what´s the conclusion?
Ploughing = Fendt, Transport = Fastrac.....just the way it is, different strokes for different folks
and john deere for everything... jeje all brands make it very well ...
Nice video George, but I in my opinion I prefer the Fendt to the fastrac but personal preference 👍
as shallow as he's rippin that JCB Ain't even breaking a sweat lol buy buy green bean!! And hello JCB!! I say! ;-)
Impressive carrying a 6 furrow with no front weights
where is the jcb brawl
another great vid from george

to plow through the mud is true
Need some weight on the front
