john deere have really aced it with the R series cab, absolute hotel to sit in, reminds me of the old 10 and 00 series cabs a bit, kudos to the deere from a CNH man
I really enjoyed that ploughing. Think I am maybe becoming a bit at a loss on the ploughing now. It's all minimal, no plough now. The plough is heavy on expensive red diesel. As farm inputs are all expensive these days, need to cut back on them whenever possible which is terrible sad. Thank you George and well done.
Good job George. It's hard to see if she's level on the video but ploughing looks level enough I would say if you are still not happy with the matching and she kinked over the last things which I am sure you would have checked being a seasoned plougher like myself and before you left the yard is matching link arm length and the one people commonly forget to check is matching tire pressure is amazing how much that effects the matching of the ploughing.
Have you tried maize skimmers for the KV, had them on for a short while last season, could bury anything with them although found setting skimmers up on the KV a bit of a pig if your trying to fine tune them with the locking bolts and one moving after you set them.
hey I was wondering if you have to go over your Fields with a subsoiler to shatter the hard pan? I see that farmers in the UK do a lot of moldboard plowing just wondering if you get a lot of soil compaction.
Long time off the farm but all the "bells and whistles" in the cab doesn't seem to change anything I remember ! Setting a plow to "draught " straight and to depth does take some some initial work with a new tractor, TBS as you''ve shown ! What I don't quite grasp is the "WHY" of moldboard plowing in this age and with the equipment available ? Maybe your ground conditions are different from what I'm used to ?
Just a thought surely it would have been better to plough the field starting at the far end from the gate and plough the other way do the headlands and finish up at the gate.
good video lad, i like the way you actually talk through the what yur thinking and what your doing, but was wondering why you turn and head back the other way when you are not near the end of the field, I've never ploughed or even seen anyone ploughing before so i really don't know
Great Video George. What ground speed do you typically run with that type of plow (plough)? I haven't pulled a plow in years but in my day they were designed for 5 mph (if you could muster the horse power and traction to get them rolling that fast).

great video George good work beautiful soil happy days
Great video George can't beat a skilled tractor driver ,keep up the good work .
Don't understand all this setting-up never had this years ago and still made lovely job of ploughing.
Probably because the plough was already set up then.
That's what I'm saying why do they make things so complicated it's just to turn the soil over its not rocket science.

How are you getting along with the Direct Drive Gearbox? At least no Hydrostat-whining
No gps needed with you at the helm George.

There is GPS - George Plowing Straight! :-)
Just a thought surely it would have been better to plough the field starting at the far end from the gate and plough the other way do the headlands and finish up at the gate.
Wayne Compton depends if it was ploughed the other way last year. you need to plough opposing from were you started last time
Mind tricks now you & Ben Deano0303 are using similar kit at the same time 😂

He's working to get a straight furrow on a curved field. Puts his hart into the job to get it done nicely right.
I'd love to have that loamy dirt where I live is like plowing in a rock quarry
This is Bedford area?
why do u measure the plough
to make sure its set correct

(Idk if its true to life, but I think it is) In farming simulator, the speed is somewhere around 12-13 kph or 7mph
wait wait wait... never did fieldwork before? damn xD you were missing out on something lol
Buen video 👌 👌
I thought along hedgeline you would always plough inwards,,
good old rolson tape 10m I see
