      I have used a water filter for years, when I first changed the filters I could not believe the difference in weight compared to the new filter. That sold me on continuing to use one. The old filters looked so dirty and weighed more compared to the new one. Would you not change the filter for your car motor or have a filter. The engine wouldn't last very long if you didn't follow good practices.

    How about putting a LITTLE celtic saltwater

    • @MentalDoseEn
      @MentalDoseEn  Місяць тому +6

      Adding a small amount of **Celtic sea salt** to water can have certain benefits, as this type of salt contains trace minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium. However, if you are on dialysis or have kidney issues, you must be **extremely cautious** with any additional salt intake. Here’s why:
      1. **Salt and Fluid Retention**: For those on dialysis, managing fluid levels is crucial because the kidneys are no longer able to efficiently filter out excess fluid and salt. Adding even a small amount of salt, including Celtic sea salt, can contribute to fluid retention, which may lead to swelling, high blood pressure, and added strain on the heart.
      2. **Sodium and Thirst**: Salt increases thirst, which can make it harder to manage fluid intake if you're on a restricted liquid diet due to dialysis. This can lead to consuming more water than recommended, further complicating fluid management.
      3. **Impact on Blood Pressure**: Dialysis patients are particularly sensitive to changes in blood pressure, and sodium intake directly impacts blood pressure control. An increase in sodium could make it harder to keep blood pressure within a safe range.
      ### If You're Considering Adding Saltwater:
      - **Consult your doctor or dietitian** before making any changes to your diet. For dialysis patients, salt intake is usually very closely monitored, and even small changes can affect health.
      - If you're not on dialysis but are considering adding Celtic sea salt for hydration purposes, keep the amount very small and ensure you're not exceeding daily sodium recommendations.
      In general, people on dialysis should limit or avoid added salt, including Celtic sea salt, unless specifically instructed by a healthcare professional.

    Iron intake is lessening with the artificial food consumption. Is H202 water any better than the filtered water?

    • @MentalDoseEn
      @MentalDoseEn  8 днів тому +1

      Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) in water is not recommended for iron intake or general health benefits. H₂O₂ is sometimes promoted in alternative health circles, but its ingestion can be harmful. It's primarily a disinfectant, and drinking it can irritate the digestive system or cause serious health issues, especially at higher concentrations.
      For iron intake, dietary sources and potentially an iron supplement, under a healthcare provider's guidance, are generally safer and more effective. Artificial food and certain refined diets may indeed contain less bioavailable iron. Choosing iron-rich foods like lean meats, beans, lentils, leafy greens, and fortified cereals, or taking an iron supplement if needed, are better ways to ensure adequate intake.
      Filtered water, on the other hand, can remove impurities while being safe and beneficial for hydration.

    How much Fluoride and how much Clorine should be in the water?

    • @MentalDoseEn
      @MentalDoseEn  Місяць тому +3

      The levels of **fluoride** and **chlorine** in drinking water are carefully regulated to ensure safety while providing their intended benefits, such as preventing tooth decay (fluoride) and disinfecting water (chlorine). Here are the recommended guidelines for both:
      ### 1. **Fluoride in Water**
      - **Recommended Level**: In the United States, the **U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)** and the **Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)** recommend a fluoride concentration of **0.7 milligrams per liter (mg/L)** or **0.7 parts per million (ppm)** in drinking water.
      - This level is considered optimal for preventing tooth decay while minimizing the risk of dental fluorosis (a condition that can cause mild white spots on the teeth, usually seen in children exposed to excessive fluoride during tooth development).
      - **Maximum Contaminant Level**: The EPA has set the maximum allowable level of fluoride in drinking water at **4.0 mg/L (4 ppm)**. Levels higher than this can pose health risks, such as skeletal fluorosis (a bone disease caused by excessive fluoride intake over a long period).
      ### 2. **Chlorine in Water**
      - **Recommended Level**: The EPA recommends a chlorine concentration of up to **4.0 mg/L (4 ppm)** in drinking water to ensure that it is adequately disinfected and free from harmful pathogens like bacteria and viruses.
      - Most public water systems aim to maintain a chlorine residual level between **0.2 to 2.0 mg/L (ppm)** at the tap, which is enough to disinfect the water without causing any significant taste or odor issues.
      - **Safety of Chlorine**: At the levels used for disinfecting water, chlorine is considered safe for human consumption. However, some people are sensitive to the taste and smell of chlorine, particularly if levels are on the higher end of the recommended range.
      ### Health Considerations:
      - **Fluoride**: Too little fluoride in water can lead to an increased risk of tooth decay, while too much can cause dental and skeletal fluorosis. It's important that the fluoride levels are carefully controlled to stay within the optimal range.
      - **Chlorine**: While chlorine is effective at killing harmful pathogens, high levels of chlorine byproducts (like **trihalomethanes** or **THMs**) can be a concern, as they have been linked to potential health risks like bladder cancer when consumed in high amounts over long periods. Regular monitoring and appropriate chlorination methods help reduce these risks.
      ### 3. **Private Wells and Fluoride/Chlorine**
      If you rely on a private well, fluoride and chlorine levels will not be automatically regulated as they are in public water systems. In this case, it's important to test your water regularly to ensure it’s safe. You may need to adjust fluoride levels with supplements if recommended by a healthcare provider, or disinfect your water using alternative methods if chlorine isn't added.
      ### Conclusion
      - **Fluoride**: Ideally, **0.7 mg/L** in water is optimal for dental health.
      - **Chlorine**: Drinking water should have a chlorine concentration between **0.2 to 2.0 mg/L**, with a maximum allowable limit of **4.0 mg/L**.
      Public water systems are designed to ensure that both fluoride and chlorine levels stay within safe and effective ranges, but it’s always a good idea to check your local water quality reports for exact figures.

    secret 2 is split the water intake...so should we drink a smaller amount of water every 15, 20 or 30 mintues? is there a recommended guideline?

    • @MentalDoseEn
      @MentalDoseEn  15 днів тому +2

      Yes, splitting water intake into smaller amounts throughout the day can help your body absorb and utilize it more efficiently. This approach avoids overloading your kidneys and keeps your hydration steady. For most people, a guideline of drinking about 100-200 ml (around half to three-quarters of a glass) every 15-30 minutes is generally effective, though this can vary based on individual needs, physical activity, and climate.
      Some key tips to help you establish a routine:
      Listen to your thirst: Try to drink small amounts when you feel slightly thirsty instead of waiting until you're very thirsty.
      Consider your activity level: If you’re active, sweating, or in a warm climate, you may want to drink every 15-20 minutes. For more sedentary activities or cooler environments, every 30 minutes might suffice.
      Daily targets: Aim for 8-10 cups of water (around 2-2.5 liters) per day, but adjust according to your specific needs.
      Drinking in regular intervals rather than all at once can help with hydration without overburdening your system.
