THANK YOU! I would have never been able to figure it out from the picture directions that came from IKEA. Thank you for not just doing a quick video to music without actually explain each step along the way!
You're absolutely welcome! Figuring out those IKEA instructions can sometimes be like deciphering a treasure map, right? I'm really glad the video was useful for you. Thanks a bunch for tuning in! 😄

Have been trying to get the screws to go in in a full size ikea cabinet with no luck at all, using either manual or electric screwdriver. And the doors are infernally heavy.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your experience-I totally get how frustrating that can be! One tip you might try is screwing the hinge into the frame without attaching the door first. This way, you can predrill the holes without the weight of the door, which might make things a bit easier. Plus, it allows you to troubleshoot whether the issue is with the screws, the hinges, or the holes themselves, reducing the guesswork. Another viewer mentioned they had success by splitting the hinge into two parts: screwing one part into the frame and the other into the door, then connecting them afterward. I haven’t tried that method myself, but it’s worth considering if it makes the process easier. Let me know how it goes-I’d love to hear what works for you!
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback! I’m thrilled to hear the video helped you get those doors to pop open-it can definitely be tricky without the right tips. Sometimes just seeing the steps laid out makes all the difference, doesn’t it? If you run into any other adjustments with your Besta, feel free to reach out. I’m always here to help where I can. Enjoy your beautifully installed doors! Great Job😁

Doing researching to cover my opened kitchen shelves. Can I use the Bestå hinge & Glassvik on my old non-Ikea cabinet? (The Glassvik is 2 cm taller with exact same width) 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for watching and reaching out with your question! 😊 While the hinges and Glassvik doors are designed for IKEA Bestå cabinets, it’s definitely possible to use them on non-IKEA furniture with some adjustments. The main thing to check is whether your current cabinet can accommodate the hinge mechanism, and if the slightly taller Glassvik doors still allow proper alignment and opening clearance. You may need to reposition the hinge mounts to match up, but with a little creativity, it could work! Best of luck with your project-feel free to update us on how it goes! 😊
I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your feedback! Your comment truly brightened my day. Your support means the world to me, and I'm so grateful you took the time to watch this video and share your thoughts. 😄🌟

It brings me so much joy to hear that this video came in handy for you! A huge thanks for taking the time to watch and share your feedback - I truly appreciate it! 😄📺👍
Before starting, split the hinge in two by unscrewing what you've called the forward/back one a bit further. You can then install the cabinet side far more easily as you don't need to support the door whilst doing it. Then just slide the two parts back together to finish the job.
I have the floor cabinet and it falls forward every time I open the door. What did I do wrong? Does this cabinet have to attached to the wall to function appropriately?
I want to express my heartfelt thanks for watching and for reaching out with your question - I truly appreciate it! 😄 When it comes to securing your cabinet, you've got a couple of great options. One safe approach is to affix your cabinet to the wall. Another idea is to extend the height of the adjustable feet on your bottom cabinet. Try adjusting just the front two to give your cabinet a slight lean back, which can help offset the door swing. Either way, you're on the right track to a smart solution. If you need more guidance or have further questions, feel free to ask. Happy DIY-ing! 🏡🔧😊
thanks for the great video. i got stuck on second 51 - the 2 screws of the hinge seem stuck - i am not able to screw them at all. also the screw shown at 2:07 won't move. what am i missing? i noticed that in the video these 2 screws seem to come separately and you screwed them, i got them already screwed into the hinge (came this way inside the pack) and they simply won't move :(
Hey there, big thanks for taking the time to check out my video! I apologize for the delay in responding to your comment. No worries though, I'm here now! 😄 When I first opened the hinge part, I vaguely remember that they were partially screwed in. (This unit has been through a few moves, and this is my third time installing it.) Those hinge screws can be a bit tricky because they create threads in the metal hinge as you fasten them into the unit. This can make it a snug fit, but if it's not aligned properly, it might get stuck. A little trick to try is using some WD-40 to grease it up - that could help you unscrew it and rethread the metal hinge to get it properly screwed in. For full control, I'd definitely recommend using a hand screwdriver. Now, about the screw that adjusts the door's height: If the hinge is connected to the unit, make sure the hinge screws are loose enough to give you some wiggle room for adjustment. If the screw is by itself and seems stuck, a little WD-40 might come to the rescue again. With all the variables, it's like a little puzzle, but I hope these suggestions make things smoother for you. Feel free to reach out if you need more help! 😊🛠️
Hey there! Thanks a lot for watching and asking! The hinges actually have a dampener for a softer close, but when using the push-open feature, it does require a gentle push to close. The push-open mechanism ensures it doesn't slam shut. You can see it in action around the 3:50 mark in the video.
Nothing keeos the door closed right? The push pull opens it but you can also just pull it yourself drom the corner to open, correct? Im having a besta and installed these doors, but my baby can just open then and I cant find a solution to keeo the door closed. There are shelf magnets on amazon but they dont fit the besta style.
dangit, i have these cabinets aswell with the Glassvik doors, but i've also bought the Översidan lights so that when the glass cabinet door opens, the light automatically turns on, but to me it feels like the mechanism to attach the light to, iks supposed to be going in the exact same hole as the hinge is...
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback! It sounds like a fantastic setup with the Glassvik doors and Översidan lights. I haven't installed those specific lights myself, but I understand the challenge you're facing. Sometimes, IKEA designs can be a bit tricky. It might help to consult the IKEA manual or reach out to their customer service for specific advice on the installation. If anyone else in the community has experience with this setup, feel free to chime in! Good luck with your project, and I hope it turns out great!
Thank you for reaching out with your question! It's not uncommon for IKEA hardware to come with extra pieces. If you're unsure about any additional parts, it's a good idea to reach out to their customer service department for clarification. Sometimes, these extra pieces might have been included by mistake. Personally, I've found it helpful to return or recycle any excess hardware to avoid clutter in my toolbox. I appreciate your interest in my tutorial and hope it was helpful for you!
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! You're absolutely right; sometimes, those tiny details can be the trickiest to find. IKEA's manual can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt, right? I'm so glad this video was helpful for you. Thanks again for tuning in!
For me, the instructions for that were printed on the plastic packaging that held the hinges. (I had no idea what it was trying to tell me until I saw this video though)
Ah, my instructions show a box to the left with arrows and corresponding screw locations to the right. But it could be different from the one that came with yours? Starting at ~ 2:08 she explains the directional adjustments with more clarity Up and down should be the first one she describes! (Flat screw, bottom right)
I feel like such an idiot, been living with a badly aligned door (for the Besta tv stand.. same thing) for more than a year when it was this simple to fix🤦♂good thing is I'm changing the drawers and the door so I'll need to install it again so I'm glad the algorithm just "guessed" I'd need this lol. As a bonus now I know what all the spare parts were for! Just today I was looking at all my Ikea spare parts and found that springy thing and was wondering wtf it was for lol
I really appreciate your feedback - your story totally brought a smile to my face! Please don't be too hard on yourself; we all learn as we go, and I'm certain others have had similar experiences. I'm absolutely thrilled that this video came in handy for you and helped you make the most of those spare parts 😉. It's amazing how the algorithm pointed you in the right direction! Wishing you a super smooth next installation. Thanks a bunch for dropping by - your visit means a lot! 😄🛠️
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback! That sounds so frustrating. If you're near an IKEA, I’d recommend taking the hinge and screws to them-they’re usually very helpful when it comes to resolving issues with their products. In my experience, they’ve been great about providing the correct hardware if something doesn’t fit properly. Let me know how it goes, and I hope you’re able to get it sorted quickly!
Thank you so much for reaching out and for watching the video! It's great that your Besta frame is level, but I understand it can be frustrating when the doors don't align perfectly. In the hinge adjustment section of the video, I demonstrate how to straighten the door. It might take some patience, but with a bit of grace and perseverance, you'll get it sorted out! Let me know if you need any more help.
Thank you so much for watching and reaching out! Door alignments can indeed feel like a tricky puzzle. Keep experimenting with the adjustment options-there are many ways to move the hinges, so it might take a bit of patience and trial and error. Give yourself some grace, and you'll get it sorted out. If you need more detailed help, feel free to ask. You've got this!
Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate your input. You're absolutely right; IKEA does refer to this as a soft-close hinge, but I understand how the push-open latch can be confusing. I aimed to showcase the installation process for all the hardware provided, including the hinge with dampeners. Your feedback helps me improve the clarity of my tutorials.
Thank you so much for watching and for your fun question! It really depends-sometimes I rock acrylics since they’re super durable and can handle all the DIY action. Other times, I use press-ons (they’re a quick and easy fix!), and when it’s my natural nails, I swear by a good nail hardener to keep them strong. Honestly, it’s all about finding the balance between having fun with your style and getting those projects done! 💪✨ If you have any go-to nail tips, I’d love to hear them too!
It's completely normal to find certain tasks challenging, especially when it comes to adjusting something as intricate as a Besta door hinge. It's more like solving a puzzle, and sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get it just right. Take a break, do something you enjoy, and return to it with a refreshed mindset. You've got this! It just takes a little patience and determination. Remember, you're more capable than you think! 😁💪🏼
Never start screws into particle board with a screw gun. Not even sure why, like, this, like video, like, shows up in my, like, feed. Dummy DIY is more like it.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts. I completely understand your concern, and it's in line with Ikea's recommendation that I mentioned in the tutorial. I'm quite familiar with my screw guns and emphasized using the lowest torque setting. Although I've been fortunate not to encounter issues, I switched to a hand driver as a precaution in the video. Your comment made me do a double-take about my speech style in the video. I even had a quick look with subtitles on just to make sure! I genuinely appreciate your feedback as I'm always looking to improve. It's awesome that you were being humorous, and it totally made me smile! If my content isn't quite your cup of tea, you can easily let UA-cam know not to recommend my channel - no hard feelings at all! Thanks for dropping by, and wishing you a fantastic holiday season! 😊🎉

The provided screws don’t even fit into the hinge
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback! That sounds so frustrating. If you're near an IKEA, I’d recommend taking the hinge and screws to them-they’re usually very helpful when it comes to resolving issues with their products. In my experience, they’ve been great about providing the correct hardware if something doesn’t fit properly. Let me know how it goes, and I hope you’re able to get it sorted quickly!
My doors are off. i cant get them straight.. yet the bookshelf (besta) is straight according to my spirit level.
My doors won’t align either
Thank you so much for watching and reaching out! Door alignments can indeed feel like a tricky puzzle. Keep experimenting with the adjustment options-there are many ways to move the hinges, so it might take a bit of patience and trial and error. Give yourself some grace, and you'll get it sorted out. If you need more detailed help, feel free to ask. You've got this!
sorry but how is this soft close then? This is a push open latch, not soft close.
Just came to say, I just installed these and they are soft close. If you don’t use the push open part and use a pull handle
M sorry. I wasn’t able to focus
How do you keep your nails so long doing DIY?
Thank you so much for watching and for your fun question! It really depends-sometimes I rock acrylics since they’re super durable and can handle all the DIY action. Other times, I use press-ons (they’re a quick and easy fix!), and when it’s my natural nails, I swear by a good nail hardener to keep them strong. Honestly, it’s all about finding the balance between having fun with your style and getting those projects done! 💪✨ If you have any go-to nail tips, I’d love to hear them too!
I guess I'm too dumb, still can't get it right
It's completely normal to find certain tasks challenging, especially when it comes to adjusting something as intricate as a Besta door hinge. It's more like solving a puzzle, and sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get it just right. Take a break, do something you enjoy, and return to it with a refreshed mindset. You've got this! It just takes a little patience and determination. Remember, you're more capable than you think! 😁💪🏼
@KimagineDIY haha that's so sweet, thank you, God bless you and your loved ones ❤️

Screwgun? 🤣
What can I say? I like power tools. 😂 Thanks for watching!
Never start screws into particle board with a screw gun. Not even sure why, like, this, like video, like, shows up in my, like, feed. Dummy DIY is more like it.
Hey Scooge have fun with the Christmas spirits this year. Maybe itll work this year. Happy holidays 😂.

OnlyFans or DIY?
Thank you for your comment! I do have plenty of DIY videos on home improvement and crafts, including one on installing a ceiling fan. I'm glad you're interested in my videos, and I hope you find them helpful and entertaining!
If only Ikea put words in their instructions... Thank you for the vids so I can finish my install! LOLL!!
😄Right if only lol. You are so welcome. I'm glad this video was helpful. Thank you for your feedback😁
Thank you!
