I'm very impressed with Logan. I watched his approach to removing the painter's tape. He is so very young and I've seen full grown adults who could not do as well. Logan was patient, cautious, careful, and even tidy about discarding the tape. Good parenting I"m sure, but some things cannot be taught.

I just finished an old mahogany game table. It open and rotates for support. I did the base in white and it has claw feet and did the ball feet in gold foil. The top is Caviar and did a very large transfer in white on top.

Ok, ok, this video is inspiring me to stop avoiding a pair of square (kinda boring) nesting tables. I am totally gonna put a stripe across the top with a different colored leg. Possible also a floral transfer. Yay! I will be so happy to move those along to their new home!

Hi Brandy! I love your work. I have been painting furniture for 3 years and I have yet to find a sealer that doesn't yellow my white chalk paint. I use all water based products but I still get streaks sometimes. After watching your videos I want to place an order with Dixie Belle. What would you recommend for sealing a chalk painted white dresser? Gator hide or clear coat?
If you are using a water based top coat and experiencing yellowing, it's coming from your piece underneath the paint, moisture from clear coat can leech out tannins, always prime whites and light colors. Oil based top coats will yellow ok their own but should not happen with water based

what was the name of the stencil brushes you like?
How do you keep from the paint coming up with you tape, did you seal the white paint prior to applying stencils and stripes?? I recently painted stripes, my paint was really dry prior to taping for stripes but a couple of small spots of paint stuck to tape, my stripes were perfect. I used light tacky painters blue tape (looks like yours)
No sealer was on paint, it did dry overnight before taping. Can always touch up spots if needed

I watch lots of videos and wonder why no one uses silver as they do gold? Just curious. Learning the tricks of black and white stripes here! Thank you! I also saw the use of top coat used on black to make subtle stripes on black.

excellent job...that sheet of stencil behind you with rombuses what size and brand is? as i usually find the small rombuses stencil...could not find the big ones.....also is there any tip for popping out the clay out of the prima moulds as last time i could succeed it.....

I much prefer the prima modeling material over clay, but you can dust mould with corn starch beforehand if needed

Can you use the same technique with a stencil to prevent bleed through?
I don't see how, a stencil gets much more movement, those edges would not remain sealed
Instead of brilliantly only using the width of your tape to measure you might want to pay attention to the fact that your stripes are spaced different on each drawer front! which immediately draws ones eyes to it!
Brandy, what do you do to prevent paint bleeding under your strips please
Seal over your tape with clear coat before painting, then any bleed will be in the clear
I use Vaseline around the top of paints and lids never stick.
Did you consider making the stripes only as wide as the horizontal points on your diamonds? IMO, It would have made the overall design feel more congruent. BTW Green Frog tape is much better at preventing seepage that the 3M blue painter's tape. However, your tip on sealing the edges was fabulous. thanks

Do you have to sand or prime before painting? If you mentioned it in the video I didn’t hear it, the captions were not picking up everything you were saying. Your son is adorable! I like seeing him helping you with your project...building confidence and allowing your children to use their creative minds! I had a plain white valance and helped my grandkids paint their hands to put their handprints on it...turned out so cute and they are so proud of it! I also have gotten compliments from friends and family. I let them choose between 3 colors that I had..Amethyst,Daisy and Peacock. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out and I was going to donate the valances, I just decided to do an art project with the kids and figured if it didn’t turn out at least they would have fun getting their hands messy! I am not sure if I can machine wash ...have you ever painted fabric with DB? If so do I need to seal it with something? Thank you for your show...kinda like that show cake boss, Lol love the creativity!!!

Brushed by Brandy Thank you for sending the basic road map. I have one more question; Can you use DB chalk paint over just raw wood? I have a table that I sanded down to bare wood. I don’t see any tutorials on furniture that has been sanded down. All the videos are just painting over a piece, unless its a dark wood you use Boss to prevent bleed through. I’ve looked in the DB how to booklet...but I am not looking to stain it.
