We've lived in mountains of Waynesville for 36 years so far and hope to never take it for granted. We see three mountain ranges from our living and dining room. Our home faces East and we watch the daily sunrise. The mountains are a different way of living and we thank God for the opportunity to live here.
I live in Swannanoa (I love it here - it's close to both Asheville AND Black Mountain) but Waynesville is one of my favorite towns in WNC. It has a bit of everything and for outdoor activities, especially hiking, you can't get any better than that. Like you said, you're close to both the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, AND the Great Smokies! Take your pick. And the downtown is just the cutest. I love to come and just walk around the downtown. Love, love Waynesville!
My fiancé and I moved to Canton recently prepared to commute regularly to Asheville for entertainment. Little did we know we’d find almost as many fun things to do in Waynesville, which is slightly closer to us and a bit more off the beaten path :) Also thanks to Beth and team for your incredible work helping us find our home!
Its not untapped, at all. To much traffic already. We love our residents, but its not a large area. Roads and restaurants are clogged in the Summer. Its already turning into a little Asheville. People keep chopping holes in the mountains and building huge houses. Ruins the view.
Looks amazing! I wonder what the community support system for people with disabilities, especially ID, like therapy providers, social groups, and what the SpEd is like there.
I'm sick of Florida and feel drawn to WNC. Waynesville caught my eye. Is it possible to get a rural housing loan? I'd love to be on west side by or in the mountains.
Im looking for an apartment in Waynesville or Brevard Waynesville first option I am moving from Arizona so I would like to try out the area first before I consider buying. I also am wanting to purchase a tiny home so if you can help me with that too, that would be great. I hear a lot of banks don’t want to mess with Tiny Homes but there has to be banks that will help get you alone for a tiny home that is what I’m looking for.
I drove through by there years ago and swore I was going to settle there when I get ready. I’m ready. I’m currently starting to look for a rental house prior to buying. I’m sold on waynesville. Please send me an available rentals info or your website.
I Forgot to add the new Biltmore Baptist Campus coming soon. Just what we need. I wonder when they will start charging for a tour of the campus. And maybe start selling Biltmore wines? Tax free of course.
We are looking in the Buncombe County area. My biggest concern is that Waynesville be too politically conservative. We are very much looking for a liberal area. In your opinion, is it politically conservative?
Oh my, lol. If you are looking for a "liberal area" while looking in that area, it is Asheville and the immediate surrounding areas! Crime has skyrocketed in the area under democrat policies, city maintenance is garbage (don't worry, you WILL pay more for it (because with dem policies you have corruption by nature)). Let's go liberal areas, woo, hoot. I will say that if you are looking for the most liberal messed up places in NC that might also have a good view, Asheville is one, parts of Wake County are too (not the same type of view). There's a bunch of libtards there too! Then there is the mac daddy democrat stronghold of Durham county, no good views though, but lots of crime like every other democrat shithole. Smaller, and sandier is Anson county in NC. Once again not many good views, but loads of corruption. Look for Boone, NC if you want a half way decent liberal community that also has abundant mountain views. The only reason they are even "half way liberal" right now is because of the college.. Why North Carolina anyways?? Are you in NY and pay high taxes for nothing, or something like that? I would suggest the wonderful state of California!!! Awesome place, with billions of great views! I hear they don't pay taxes either!!!!! Good luck in you endeavors!

Asheville is a terrible place to live. Crime, including violent and property crime, cost of living, including nowhere available to rent, out of control homeless, hospital has been threatened closure by the government, etc etc.
Liberal transplants have destroyed Ashville...time to move on...this area looks good...hmmmm . It's very similar to the democratic cities, wreck each block...move on
Beautiful scenery, excellent public library, fantastic farmers market, lots of stuff to do within an hour or two drive. I'd call it a retirement town. I actually resided in Edneyville, about 10 miles away, but it's not an actual 'town' per se. It was wonderful.@@livinginasheville

40 years ago Asheville was a great small town. Sadly it's been transformed into a liberal cess pool. Don't buy the hype. Even us locals avoid Asheville like the plague.
WNC is the most bland, depressing area I’ve ever lived in. No culture, no diversity. It’s mostly older, conservative white people. Very little variety in cuisine. Sure, the landscape is pretty, but it’s smattered with trailers and mobile homes, (unless you live directly in these little downtown areas),run down or abandoned buildings, and nearly impossible to make close friends.
I have not had that experience at all. I found that there is absolute magic and beautiful energy in these very old mountains. Talk about sacred? It’s here. Of course there are other areas and you need more aligned there. How about Mount Shasta?
Waynesville will end up being like Asheville. Asheville has gone to shit from all the California liberals moving there. We wanted to retire there but not now. Maybe we'll look at Waynesville!
