The "Meet the OddParents" ending seems really good. I like it. I've always thought that Channel Chasers would have made a good end of Timmy's journey in Fairly Odd Parents. Then Instead of ending the show, I'd just have a time skip in the show and do it, next-generation style, with Timmy's kids. It seems like that's what they want to do, based on bringing in Chloe and making them share fairies. Fairy Odd parents would still get the attention because it's still running, just with different characters (and guest appearances of original characters as adults)

If Abracatastrophe was at the end of the series, it would be a good end. By itself, it's too early in the show but if it had been changed and put in later, it would be a good end to a degree.

It kinda sucks that Dinkleberg was barely in season 10. I guess the writers wanted to focus more on Chloe's parents. Sadly, Mr. and Mrs. Turner's rivalry with Mr. and Mrs. Carmichael just wasn't as funny. :(
My personal choice would be Season 8 like u said. Making season 8 the final season could work because of the final two episodes in it. Meet the oddparents, and Timmy's Secret wish. They both give lore, and one ironically explains why the show went on for so long. If it was changed to more fit into the classification of a finale, it would be perfect. oh wait he just brought it up. frick.
My idea is that the final episode would be like the Avengers: Endgame. Everyone fighting one major villain and that villain is no other than Chloe. Why? She's the worst character and she deserves a role being a villain. How would she be the villain? She would reveal herself as a Time destroyer because some of the episodes are claimed to be NON-CANON and that would be canon in various timelines. Then, in another timeline, Timmy starts to remember his abandoned memories, making Wanda and Cosmo think he's gone mad. To prove he isn't going mad, he wishes for a time scooter, then he starts having a headache. The headache was from the abandoned memories that came back intensely. Knowing there's more to find from his past, he went back through time. When Chloe heard about this, her voice changes to a devil's voice and plans to stop Timmy so he could be erased. At the main part of the finale, Timmy, his fairies, his friends, parents, and everyone else stand on the battlefield, together. With Timmy's battle cry, all the fairies and people attack Chloe as she destroys each character one by one. At the end of the battle, Chloe's been erased thanks to Timmy's wish muffin that Jorgen made. Everyone else from his past start to slowly disappear as the villains shed a tear and say goodbye. For Vicky (past), she tells Timmy that she's sorry and promises to be a better babysitter. Years later, Timmy's old enough to not have fairies. As the fairies start to say goodbye, Timmy starts crying and hugs Wanda, Cosmo, and Poof. Sparkie howls to this as they split up, then Jorgen wiped Timmy's memories with a saddened look. As Timmy grew up, he became a successful business man and had Trixie as his wife. When he became an elderly man, he sees his fairies (now old), then he starts to remember something once again... "Cosmo... Wanda... Poof... you're back." Timmy said and smiled slowly. I know, finales must come with a sad end because the series is the best. Unfortunately, the finale we got isn't the end.
I say Wishology would be the best ending. I would, however, tweak it slightly. The Darkness comes out of nowhere, I would have given it a proper origin, sourced from another villain- say, the anti-fairies and the pixies combine their magic to create it, only for it to grow out of their control? (Ooh, and maybe the Eliminators were made by the Pixies? Perhaps they have a factory that makes them!)
I feel the same way both that the wishology trilogy would be a perfect ending and that the whole plot arc came a bit out of nowhere like lumpus' last stand out of camp lazlo. I would like to add the idea of that they could have built on the idea of the darkness over multiple episodes or maybe even multiple seasons building up to the wishology trilogy.

I personally liked Poof. He gave Timmy responsibility without *completely* taking over the show. He did something. He grew Timmy’s family. He wasn’t annoying.
Yup, still a firm believer that FOP should have ended with Meet the Oddparents ^w^ It made Mr and Mrs Turner really likable and genuinely funny, it had a sweet emotional core which showed that the Turners really care about each other, it showed that Timmy is now willing to use his magic to help others which is some major character growth and if the series ended here, the era of Sparky, Chloe and the bizarre flash animation wouldn't even exist! Channel Chasers and Wishology are epic and would have been fantastic finales too, but I think Meet the Oddparents would be more fitting because it would have ended the series on an episode which reflects the true essence of FOP; a funny slice of life show about a boy growing up with magical fairies. :) That's what the series has always been and having the last episode be like that, but with a more mature Timmy, would have been so satisfying. ^^ Great video as always Jay. ^^
Late as heck but same! I remember watching it at my grandparents house and thinking this would be a good ending especially at the end where Timmys parents sacrifice their memories of the fairies and Timmy wishing something for his parents it’s been years since I watch it I forgot
I would say Channel chasers could have been a good series finale, but in my honest opinion it should have ended during the Wishology trilogy like you said it did world building for the fairies, Timmy finally getting actually attention from Trixie, Timmy's parents meeting his godparents and that whole twist with the Darkness not really being the villain in the story but just seen as a bad guy due to it's appearance. If this was the finale the only thing I would have a problem with is the fact that Jorgen was going to erase everyone's memories about all the stuff that happened. Like Vicky, Crocker I can understand but at least have Timmy's parents, friends and girlfriend (maybe) know the stuff that happened but again my opinion.
I don't know why more people don't talk about Meet the Oddparents. I randomly stumbled upon a rerun of it and enjoyed it more then anything i had seen of Fairly Oddparents in a while. I do remember some cringy comedy, but also some genuinely funny moments. And more heart and wholesomeness then i had seen from the show for a long time at that point. It was also really cool to see Cosmo and Wanda interacting with Timmy's parents. It's a dynamic that works surprisingly well. If the show had ended there, I'd be okay with that. It would have made it a well remembered series with some hit and miss strings of episodes, instead of a show that went on for too long desperately trying to hang on to relevancy.

Meet the Odd Parents is definitely my favorite of these options. I always thought the show should end with his parents finding out (preferably Crocker too, but with him now remembering Cosmo and Wanda from his past) and the show moving forward with Timmy growing up finally and a glimpse toward a better future.
Now that I think about it, Meet the Oddparents would’ve been good as a series finale. Second to that would be the first live action movie, seeing as it deals with Timmy falling in love and being allowed to keep his fairies in the end on the condition that he helps others. If I’m being honest, the first one is probably my favorite of the live-action movies. The holiday one was good, and the Hawaii one...well, it was pretty forgettable for me. The only things I remember are Foop being in it and Timmy becoming a fairy- by falling in lava with this fairy Mcguffin thing. Again, kind of forgettable.
I think I always considered the first live-action movie as the finale in my head. It left a pretty positive “that’s all folks” sort of feeling for me. I remember being surprised when I found out they kept airing episodes after it.
That's when I stopped watching so I thought that was a pretty solid ending. There are better ones out there, but for this show, I think it was about as good as I could think of.
A while back there was an idea of a theatrical movie where the plot was that every kid in the world got their own Fairy Godparent including Vicky since she's under 18 (She gets Jorgen). But because no one was watching over the Pixie and the Anti-Fairies, the two broke free to take over the world.
i also really wished they would ahve eneded after the first live action. I did like it and it ended on a happy ending that made total sense. Timmy got his fairies, Tootie finally got Timmy, and we didn't have to know about fairy dogs. as far as animated to live action goes, it was probably one of the better versions we could have gotten considering just how cartoony the show was.
The more you discuss this, the angrier it makes me that Nickelodeon let one of their longest running most successful TV shows end on a regular episode instead of going out with a bang.

Could we get a mix of meet the odd parents and channel chasers. Since honestly the ending of channel chasers is the only reason it's being considered. I really like that final bittersweet ending of channel chasers and I think that would have been the best note to end on.
Seriously, similarly to how The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie could have been the finale of its franchise before it would take a big downgrade in terms of quality, The Fairly OddParents could have ended with Wishology before it would also suffer from seasonal rot in a very similar way for obvious reasons.
I would've liked it to end anytime before timmy's secret wish, cause that special is the biggest jump the shark moment in series history and shattered the entire continuity pretty much.

I wonder if Butch kept writing all these “finale” like episodes because of how he claims Nickelodeon kept “canceling” and “reviving” the show over and over. That way he could have his show end in some high note, but alas, Nick kept ordering more seasons.
Best way to end it imo is to age Timmy up to an adult and make him get married and have a daughter. Then make that daughter get Fairy Godparents and have them be Cosmo and Wanda. The reason for Timmy’s daughter needing fairies could be bullying or stuff away from home so it wouldn’t make Timmy and whoever his wife is seem like bad parents. I think something like this would make longtime fans happy because we’d still see Timmy but as an adult. We could even see his parents as grandparents now and even see his friends as adults with kids as well. Crocker could even evolve into the Principal of Timmy’s daughter’s school or maybe have a daughter or niece himself that can try to prove fairies are real.
Actually Tootie’s life is worse than Timmy’s, yes she had all the things Timmy had to deal with, except for Crocker and problems Timmy created. But she also had no friends, her true love always rejecting her (I know Timmy loved Trixie and Trixie dumped him all the time, but that’s different because Trixie was popular, Timmy wasn’t always popular and yet Tootie liked him), there was never any footage shown that her parents ever loved her, and worst of all, Tootie had no fairy godparents. Timmy had fairy godparents to help him out and to talk to, plus his parents did show love to Timmy some times, he also had AJ, Chester, Sanjay, and Elemer to talk to. Tootie managed to have a good life and good spirit (according to the live-action movie) without fairy godparents and with more problems than Timmy. So Tootie is way more prepared for the real life world than Timmy is.
I would have made "Timmy's Secret Wish" the last episode of Season 8 and made _that_ the finale. Also, I would have extended Season 8, to a full 26 episodes, by taking a handful of episodes from Season 9, removing Sparky and putting them there. Oh, and vanquish that live action movie from existence. Seriously. It was shit.

Thing is, I never actually saw “Meet the OddParents”, so for a long time after I heard there was an episode by that name, I had assumed that it was in fact the other episode with that plot you mentioned, which isn’t all that great. But now that I’ve watched this video and read the comments, I actually want to see it. The main reason I wouldn’t want it as the finale isn’t even anything to do with the episode itself, but just because most of the rest of Season 8 is terrible, so one would still be accepting those as canon. Then again, even though “Timmy’s Secret Wish” is the episode that made me think the show had become a parody of itself and thus stopped watching, it did have a few good ideas that could have worked had it just received a few more rewrites before being aired. I even might have been able to have been persuaded of the last three seasons’ brilliance had the characters only become fully aware of the fourth wall and that they were in a cartoon, since a lot of those episodes seemed to give off the idea that the characters no longer have any reason to be in conflict with one another, as if they were aware of their own fictionality. But the writers would still have needed to fix the writing and the continuity issues for that to work, and had they done so, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. Though I am partial to imagining an ending at “No Substitute for Crazy” (the last non-crossover episode of Season 5) or perhaps “Wishology”, I do think there would have been one other episode that would have been... interesting to end on, at the very least. You are all going to hate me for even suggesting it, but consider “It’s a Wishful Life”. As it stands, the episode is atrocious, but had it been better written, it would have been a character study for Timmy, as well as a crowning moment of awesome for him, in which he decides that life may not be perfect and he makes mistakes that might even negatively affect people’s lives, but still he rejects despair and decides that life is worth living regardless. It reminds me a little of the last two episodes of Evangelion, come to think of it. But of course this would only have worked were the episode rewritten to be less nonsensical and pointlessly mean, but we are discussing counterfactuals, so why the hell not?
I largely agree with this video. I think Channel Chasers, Wishology and the live action movies all feel more like specials rather than finales. Although the live action movies, while not good, feel the most like a finale of the 3 but only by default. Pre-hiatus could’ve prevented FOP from leaving the big legacy it has, even though that’s where most of the best episodes came from. Poof and Sparky’s introduction episodes also feel more like specials than finales. I also think it’s a very bad idea to introduce new main characters in a finale since there won’t be enough time to really build them up and flesh them out. Meet the odd parents is definitely the episode that feels most like a finale, followed by Timmy’s secret wish which I’m surprised you didn’t talk about.
Well in my opinion it's much better to end the show after Poof is introduced. Cosmo and Wanda having a baby does make sense and doesn't screw with the established rules of the show. Which is I always say Wishology should've been the finale, because a lot of plot lines would've been wrapped up if Jorgon didn't erase anyone's memories and the show would've ended on a high note.

Jay made a good point about Channel Chasers. Outside of the Timmy versus Vicky Ark, and the ending bit with Timmy's future children, the rest of the special would not have had enough substance to have a satisfying conclusion. Also the show would have plenty more good episodes after the special, as the quality of the show hadn't Tanked yet. And with wishology, it had most of the supporting human and fairy characters play A Part in the three-part special, but we all knew that Jorgen was going to have all this character progression undone at the end. I guess for me, since we're probably never going to get a proper series finale special, maybe the ending to the first Fairly Odd Movie would have been the best kind of ending to give the show.
Y'know, with all the new characters they threw in to "spice up" the series... why _didn't_ they stick with Meet the Oddparents? Think about it. Think of all the wacky new adventures that could be had with Timmy's parents knowing about the fairies, and the hijinks that could ensue. And not that they cared about the whole "keep the fairies secret" thing in the later seasons, but that would be turned on its head. Instead of keeping the fairies secret from Timmy's parents, the fairies AND the parents would keep their knowledge a secret from Jorgan. I think that could have been a legitimately cool direction to take the series in, that doesn't stomp over the legacy but doesn't suffer from seasonal rot as much.

I know such an episode doesn't exist but for me the perfect finale would involve Tootie. I feel like Vicky should be the last villain as she was the first and foremost reason for the series to start. It basically would be the live action movie but animated and still have them be kids. I feel like the whole Tootie en Vicky relationship wasn't explored as much as it should've (probs in favor of other more comedic villains taking center stage). Personally post-Wishology, Poof I feel like was a good introduction but pre-sparky ofc. Actually just to create a situation where a continuation of the series doesn't feel like a necessity. So it also could deal with the parents at the same time.
I don't remember when I stopped watching this show out I think it was sometime after Poof was new. As for the seven choices, the last two would have been fitting for a finale.
Wishology was incredible to me. Also I think the live action movie would have been a good finale. It basically shows how Timmy is growing up which is exactly how many kids shows end. They end showing that the main character grows up and has to leave, like Chowder which had a very good finale.
Nice seeing how Meet the Oddparents gets some love! I might like the Wishology ending a bit more, but Meet the Oddparents has a nice sweetness about it, without overkilling the show.
A perfect ending to the show imo would have been to wrap up season 6 with wishology, and then maybe later air a modified (as in doesn't-feel-like-a-season-premiere) version of the anti-poof episode as a way to answer any would-be questions about poof's anti-counterpart. Sort of like a post-finale special.
Honestly, I wished that there was a big movie for Francis (like Vicky had for Channel Chasers, and Mr. Crocker for Abra-Catastrophy) since he alongside Vicky and Crocker are actually Timmy's BIG THREE opponents.

Sparkie howls to this as they split up, then Jorgen wiped Timmy's memories with a saddened look. As Timmy grew up, he became a successful business man and had Trixie as his wife. When he became an elderly man, he sees his fairies (now old), then he starts to remember something once again... "Cosmo... Wanda... Poof... you're back." Timmy said and smiled slowly.
I know, finales must come with a sad end because the series is the best. Unfortunately, the finale we got isn't the end.

I say Wishology would be the best ending. I would, however, tweak it slightly. The Darkness comes out of nowhere, I would have given it a proper origin, sourced from another villain- say, the anti-fairies and the pixies combine their magic to create it, only for it to grow out of their control? (Ooh, and maybe the Eliminators were made by the Pixies? Perhaps they have a factory that makes them!)

I feel the same way both that the wishology trilogy would be a perfect ending and that the whole plot arc came a bit out of nowhere like lumpus' last stand out of camp lazlo. I would like to add the idea of that they could have built on the idea of the darkness over multiple episodes or maybe even multiple seasons building up to the wishology trilogy.
That sounds awesome. One other thing I would add is Timmy kissing Tootie instead of Trixie.
Tootie deserves fairies more that whats her face.

I personally liked Poof. He gave Timmy responsibility without *completely* taking over the show. He did something. He grew Timmy’s family. He wasn’t annoying.
Yup, still a firm believer that FOP should have ended with Meet the Oddparents ^w^ It made Mr and Mrs Turner really likable and genuinely funny, it had a sweet emotional core which showed that the Turners really care about each other, it showed that Timmy is now willing to use his magic to help others which is some major character growth and if the series ended here, the era of Sparky, Chloe and the bizarre flash animation wouldn't even exist! Channel Chasers and Wishology are epic and would have been fantastic finales too, but I think Meet the Oddparents would be more fitting because it would have ended the series on an episode which reflects the true essence of FOP; a funny slice of life show about a boy growing up with magical fairies. :) That's what the series has always been and having the last episode be like that, but with a more mature Timmy, would have been so satisfying. ^^

I would say Channel chasers could have been a good series finale, but in my honest opinion it should have ended during the Wishology trilogy like you said it did world building for the fairies, Timmy finally getting actually attention from Trixie, Timmy's parents meeting his godparents and that whole twist with the Darkness not really being the villain in the story but just seen as a bad guy due to it's appearance. If this was the finale the only thing I would have a problem with is the fact that Jorgen was going to erase everyone's memories about all the stuff that happened. Like Vicky, Crocker I can understand but at least have Timmy's parents, friends and girlfriend (maybe) know the stuff that happened but again my opinion.

I don't know why more people don't talk about Meet the Oddparents. I randomly stumbled upon a rerun of it and enjoyed it more then anything i had seen of Fairly Oddparents in a while. I do remember some cringy comedy, but also some genuinely funny moments. And more heart and wholesomeness then i had seen from the show for a long time at that point. It was also really cool to see Cosmo and Wanda interacting with Timmy's parents. It's a dynamic that works surprisingly well.
If the show had ended there, I'd be okay with that. It would have made it a well remembered series with some hit and miss strings of episodes, instead of a show that went on for too long desperately trying to hang on to relevancy.

Meet the Odd Parents is definitely my favorite of these options. I always thought the show should end with his parents finding out (preferably Crocker too, but with him now remembering Cosmo and Wanda from his past) and the show moving forward with Timmy growing up finally and a glimpse toward a better future.
Now that I think about it, Meet the Oddparents would’ve been good as a series finale.
Second to that would be the first live action movie, seeing as it deals with Timmy falling in love and being allowed to keep his fairies in the end on the condition that he helps others. If I’m being honest, the first one is probably my favorite of the live-action movies. The holiday one was good, and the Hawaii one...well, it was pretty forgettable for me. The only things I remember are Foop being in it and Timmy becoming a fairy- by falling in lava with this fairy Mcguffin thing.
Again, kind of forgettable.
_Channel Chasers_ was the perfect ending to the series.

I think I always considered the first live-action movie as the finale in my head. It left a pretty positive “that’s all folks” sort of feeling for me. I remember being surprised when I found out they kept airing episodes after it.

That's when I stopped watching so I thought that was a pretty solid ending. There are better ones out there, but for this show, I think it was about as good as I could think of.

A while back there was an idea of a theatrical movie where the plot was that every kid in the world got their own Fairy Godparent including Vicky since she's under 18 (She gets Jorgen). But because no one was watching over the Pixie and the Anti-Fairies, the two broke free to take over the world.

i also really wished they would ahve eneded after the first live action. I did like it and it ended on a happy ending that made total sense. Timmy got his fairies, Tootie finally got Timmy, and we didn't have to know about fairy dogs. as far as animated to live action goes, it was probably one of the better versions we could have gotten considering just how cartoony the show was.
The more you discuss this, the angrier it makes me that Nickelodeon let one of their longest running most successful TV shows end on a regular episode instead of going out with a bang.

Seriously, similarly to how The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie could have been the finale of its franchise before it would take a big downgrade in terms of quality, The Fairly OddParents could have ended with Wishology before it would also suffer from seasonal rot in a very similar way for obvious reasons.
I would've liked it to end anytime before timmy's secret wish, cause that special is the biggest jump the shark moment in series history and shattered the entire continuity pretty much.
I actually like the Meet the Oddparents idea the most. It would be a perfect ending that would satisfy the viewers.

Best way to end it imo is to age Timmy up to an adult and make him get married and have a daughter. Then make that daughter get Fairy Godparents and have them be Cosmo and Wanda. The reason for Timmy’s daughter needing fairies could be bullying or stuff away from home so it wouldn’t make Timmy and whoever his wife is seem like bad parents. I think something like this would make longtime fans happy because we’d still see Timmy but as an adult. We could even see his parents as grandparents now and even see his friends as adults with kids as well. Crocker could even evolve into the Principal of Timmy’s daughter’s school or maybe have a daughter or niece himself that can try to prove fairies are real.
Actually Tootie’s life is worse than Timmy’s, yes she had all the things Timmy had to deal with, except for Crocker and problems Timmy created. But she also had no friends, her true love always rejecting her (I know Timmy loved Trixie and Trixie dumped him all the time, but that’s different because Trixie was popular, Timmy wasn’t always popular and yet Tootie liked him), there was never any footage shown that her parents ever loved her, and worst of all, Tootie had no fairy godparents. Timmy had fairy godparents to help him out and to talk to, plus his parents did show love to Timmy some times, he also had AJ, Chester, Sanjay, and Elemer to talk to. Tootie managed to have a good life and good spirit (according to the live-action movie) without fairy godparents and with more problems than Timmy. So Tootie is way more prepared for the real life world than Timmy is.
Any ending is good as long as it doesn’t have Chloe.
I would have made "Timmy's Secret Wish" the last episode of Season 8 and made _that_ the finale. Also, I would have extended Season 8, to a full 26 episodes, by taking a handful of episodes from Season 9, removing Sparky and putting them there.
Oh, and vanquish that live action movie from existence. Seriously. It was shit.

Thing is, I never actually saw “Meet the OddParents”, so for a long time after I heard there was an episode by that name, I had assumed that it was in fact the other episode with that plot you mentioned, which isn’t all that great. But now that I’ve watched this video and read the comments, I actually want to see it. The main reason I wouldn’t want it as the finale isn’t even anything to do with the episode itself, but just because most of the rest of Season 8 is terrible, so one would still be accepting those as canon. Then again, even though “Timmy’s Secret Wish” is the episode that made me think the show had become a parody of itself and thus stopped watching, it did have a few good ideas that could have worked had it just received a few more rewrites before being aired. I even might have been able to have been persuaded of the last three seasons’ brilliance had the characters only become fully aware of the fourth wall and that they were in a cartoon, since a lot of those episodes seemed to give off the idea that the characters no longer have any reason to be in conflict with one another, as if they were aware of their own fictionality. But the writers would still have needed to fix the writing and the continuity issues for that to work, and had they done so, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.
Though I am partial to imagining an ending at “No Substitute for Crazy” (the last non-crossover episode of Season 5) or perhaps “Wishology”, I do think there would have been one other episode that would have been... interesting to end on, at the very least. You are all going to hate me for even suggesting it, but consider “It’s a Wishful Life”. As it stands, the episode is atrocious, but had it been better written, it would have been a character study for Timmy, as well as a crowning moment of awesome for him, in which he decides that life may not be perfect and he makes mistakes that might even negatively affect people’s lives, but still he rejects despair and decides that life is worth living regardless. It reminds me a little of the last two episodes of Evangelion, come to think of it. But of course this would only have worked were the episode rewritten to be less nonsensical and pointlessly mean, but we are discussing counterfactuals, so why the hell not?
I largely agree with this video. I think Channel Chasers, Wishology and the live action movies all feel more like specials rather than finales. Although the live action movies, while not good, feel the most like a finale of the 3 but only by default. Pre-hiatus could’ve prevented FOP from leaving the big legacy it has, even though that’s where most of the best episodes came from. Poof and Sparky’s introduction episodes also feel more like specials than finales. I also think it’s a very bad idea to introduce new main characters in a finale since there won’t be enough time to really build them up and flesh them out. Meet the odd parents is definitely the episode that feels most like a finale, followed by Timmy’s secret wish which I’m surprised you didn’t talk about.
Put the last scene of Channel Chasers at the end of Wishology and it would be perfect. That's my opinion. :D

Well in my opinion it's much better to end the show after Poof is introduced. Cosmo and Wanda having a baby does make sense and doesn't screw with the established rules of the show. Which is I always say Wishology should've been the finale, because a lot of plot lines would've been wrapped up if Jorgon didn't erase anyone's memories and the show would've ended on a high note.

Jay made a good point about Channel Chasers. Outside of the Timmy versus Vicky Ark, and the ending bit with Timmy's future children, the rest of the special would not have had enough substance to have a satisfying conclusion. Also the show would have plenty more good episodes after the special, as the quality of the show hadn't Tanked yet. And with wishology, it had most of the supporting human and fairy characters play A Part in the three-part special, but we all knew that Jorgen was going to have all this character progression undone at the end. I guess for me, since we're probably never going to get a proper series finale special, maybe the ending to the first Fairly Odd Movie would have been the best kind of ending to give the show.

Y'know, with all the new characters they threw in to "spice up" the series... why _didn't_ they stick with Meet the Oddparents? Think about it. Think of all the wacky new adventures that could be had with Timmy's parents knowing about the fairies, and the hijinks that could ensue.
And not that they cared about the whole "keep the fairies secret" thing in the later seasons, but that would be turned on its head. Instead of keeping the fairies secret from Timmy's parents, the fairies AND the parents would keep their knowledge a secret from Jorgan.
I think that could have been a legitimately cool direction to take the series in, that doesn't stomp over the legacy but doesn't suffer from seasonal rot as much.

I know such an episode doesn't exist but for me the perfect finale would involve Tootie. I feel like Vicky should be the last villain as she was the first and foremost reason for the series to start. It basically would be the live action movie but animated and still have them be kids. I feel like the whole Tootie en Vicky relationship wasn't explored as much as it should've (probs in favor of other more comedic villains taking center stage).
Personally post-Wishology, Poof I feel like was a good introduction but pre-sparky ofc. Actually just to create a situation where a continuation of the series doesn't feel like a necessity. So it also could deal with the parents at the same time.

Nice seeing how Meet the Oddparents gets some love! I might like the Wishology ending a bit more, but Meet the Oddparents has a nice sweetness about it, without overkilling the show.
A perfect ending to the show imo would have been to wrap up season 6 with wishology, and then maybe later air a modified (as in doesn't-feel-like-a-season-premiere) version of the anti-poof episode as a way to answer any would-be questions about poof's anti-counterpart. Sort of like a post-finale special.
