I’ve owned one for 8yrs now, body work wise if keeping it do the arches right and I’d imagine your inner rear arches are shot too, do it correctly and seal the lip like the CSL versions have.
Near side front NSF OFR off side rear Welcome too the M club 🥳 Cars 20 something years old will need maintenance especially if they got higher mileage and used all year round Backing plates rust Diff a slight leak isn’t the end of the world most do mine has Hopefully yours isn’t making any noises So will get a diff rebuild next year. I would do a diff oil change tho just for peace off mind and too make sure it’s not losing loads of diff oil since it’s had a last diff oil change Isn’t hard too do. Just need too jack the car up tho and get it level You should get a post inspection done with a good bmw specialist tho worth every penny I recon it’s the seal gasket on your headlight that’s letting inn water hence the reason it’s fogging up when damp or raining so shouldn’t be expensive 😱 and a half a hour too do both Those arches 😬 are going too be costly tho Recon Inner arches need doing ie cutting out and welding new ones Redish 😉 then the outer arches need repairing painting Rod bearings head gasket depending on your mileage vanos and the dreaded subframe Drive shafts prop shafts is something you should thinking about in a high mileage car Not forgetting your steering coupler upper and lower To get rid of the tiny little play in the steering column Not that expensive but definitely worth it
Lol! Dude why didn’t you inspect the car before buying? Most of these things are basic but you should also get familiar with e46 platform. Hope your rod bearings, vanos, and subframe have been taken care of or you’re in for a treat 😬
