I mean he has said that he likes to become what he fears. Like when he played with totalbiscuit man-eater and only wanted to play as the shark and was having a lot of fun being in the water killing tb as a shark.
To be fair, it's a fear of deep dark water. There's no telling where the fish people really live. Could be shallows or a clear lagoon. There's also something cathartic about facing your fears in certain ways.
Saw this on NextFest this year and almost tried the demo out, but the 'co-op' part gave me paws. Er, pause. So I appreciate Jesse checking it out so I can see how he do!
@@Eventide215 Socially anxious, mute, and most of my friends are in Europe or New Zealand so scheduling is a nightmare. Sadly means any games with heavy co-op don't work out so great, no matter how into them I am as a concept, because a lot of them are grim rides when you are Nerd Alone. Tend to gravitate towards more solo-focused games as a result.
I've been waiting for this game since the combat test. This is looking to be a very fun game. The cannon is a difficult weapon, imo; but I really enjoyed it. Jesse just missed out on the mortar ability that deals a bunch of damage. Also, the timing mechanics are hard to pick up first try. I'm sure the cannon's great when you have a friend to pull aggro too.
I love the cannon. For the life of me, I can't seem to find a new version of it at a shop though. I hope when the full game comes out, they increase the amount of weapons shown. Probably gone to the shop 8 or 9 times since getting the cannon.
I thought this game looked cool but then it's just another "screen clear" game. You move from screen to screen and kill everything then move on. Sometimes random event, merchant, boss etc. At least in Cult of the Lamb you had the Cult part. This is just ... meh
I love the games that Jesse reads the dialogues (:
The animations in this game are so good. Not only are they smooth but it actaully gives each individual creature and character so much life.
There's something very Cult of the Lamb about this and I dig it.
Fishspezies please, from the guy who has crippling fear of water and sharks.
Yes, it is quite ironic that the thallassophobe picked the aquatic species.

That's the thing about fantasy games. You can be anything!

Love the voice Jesse gave the salesman/crocodile. Reminds me of some of the characters voices from Kings Quest VII 🥰
I've been playing this game the past few days with a friend. Highly recommend co-op. I am obsessed with Rotwood.
"We got cult of the lamb at home"
Love the 'Dad joke" at the end.
That ending was TOO FPERFECT LMAO, thank you Jesse! Hilarious video!

Why would the co-op give you pause?

I think you should be able to carry to weapons into battle, but that's just me otherwise seems like a fun beat em up with a rouge-lite element to it
Is this hyper inspired by cult of the lamb
I'm pretty sure they were in development around the same time. Anyway, neither are first in this genre or style.
I immediately thought this too. 😅

its really not... its just slightly harder than before. I got through this section and found it fairly manageable.
And yes the gun sucks

There does seem to be a camp you can upgrade and stuff, which looks pretty interesting for me.
