      lot of people feeling so neglected by milwaukee... and an 18v mower was a dumb and very late move.

    • @shortyorc121
      @shortyorc121 2 роки тому

      @@mrniusi11 How so? Milwaukee comes out with new tools all the time and for very niche tools like a eletric drain snake. They also have bigger 18v batteries and makitia just stuck on 6ah.
      I love makitia I have so many lxt tools, but I'll be jump ship because I have a feeling that they will be dropping it and just going XGT. Just look at this video and tell me what way the company is heading.

    Makita are extremely popular in Australia with serious trades people.
    They are my personal favourite for good reason, they are reliable well designed and tough for the most part .
    We still like a mix of 240 Volt corded and battery tools .

    Thanks 🙏 for showing the makita tools. Iv got plenty 18 volt gardening tools in my garden- lawn care business I wish I waited and got the 40 volt gear but no doubt I’ll probably get something at some stage. I’m sure at some stage there be a 80 volt chainsaw and 80 volt mower. And definitely having the compatibility of other tools on same battery system is a huge plus

    Yes have a couple of questions regarding the new 40 volt mower.
    Does it have a turbo button?
    What is the highest rpm it reaches in that turbo mode or if in normal mode if there is no turbo?
    What is the power difference to the previous twin 18 volt model? and or what is the equivalent foot pounds of torque / and or cc equivalent output. The cc being like 200cc petrol equivalent?

    I use Milwaukee at work and it's ok, but I use Makita at home. My first power tool was a Makita Corded drill that my grandmother bought for me. It does not miss a beat, it would have to be nearly 20 years old, keyless chuck still works fine. I think this one drill has given me the trust to since buy a swag of 18v Makita cordless tools, and I have never had one fail on me. I want a Makita chainsaw now.... problem is which one? 18v? 36v? 40v? The little top handle 36v look the goods because it would probably handle most small jobs and the 18v batteries will compliment my existing skins... and it would be good for camping and day trips out bush.... think I just sold it to myself. Go the Green Machines!

    Hey Mark! You gettin pretty ‘dang gone good’ at covering these trade shows/exhibits! 👍
    But Makita Makita Makita… I dont know what’s going on with them anymore? I’m your original Teal Fan Boi, ha ha 😆 First Cordless drill was the 9.6 with the stick batteries, and first Circ. Saw was the ole 5007! So,, @ 02:03; 40 Volt 8.0 Amp hour battery, if I heard right? This from the Company that has repeatedly gave me lame excuse after lame excuse, as to why they didn’t or couldn’t have anything over 6.0 in their 18 VOLT LXT Line!!! 😠 And I believe she said it was only a 40 Volt mower? They need to do XGT 40 Volt X2, like in the 18 Volt line?
    Yeah, I have the Consumer Grade 18 volt LXT hedge trimmer, Mark. She is spot on here. I’ve trimmed, what few decent Azaleas I have, 🙄 and have trimmed for over 45 minutes, with a 3.0, or 4.0 battery! It is strange the different power requirements from different tools?
    The mowers are really good, but they need to keep ramping up their batteries. I’m still a little upset over Makita shutting down all their Gas OPE tools. That ConnectX stuff is just plain goofy, IMO. It’s bulky, and extra trouble and expense. NO ONE is there yet with Gas replacement stuff, and if they think they are, they are kidding themselves. Sorry for rant and negativity, Mark. Oh, BTW, I’ve probably 30-40 batteries, and around 50-55 Makita tools in all, both corded and cordless. But I am not as enthusiastic as before.
    I do want to give a ‘Shout Out’ to the New Jersey Makita Service Center. They are fantastic.
    Good coverage Mark. Thanks! 👍👍👍👊✌🙏😊

      Thanks for stopping by George, that's quite a big collection of Makita tools.
      My first Makita tool was a corded hammer drill that I bought at Builders Square. A phone installer at a job site let me borrow his so I could finish installing some anchor sleeves. I liked it so much, I went out and bought my own.
      On the subject of push mowers, I'd like to test their new 40V mower to see how it compares to the Milwaukee.

      Same. that is definitely a focus for Milwaukee while Makita went all in on OPE. I thing Milwaukee made a smarter choice with their focus. However, as far as general quality, Makita is still, dollar for dollar, an amazing tool line. But I 100% agree with your point

      @DESX312 2 роки тому

      @@travisjazzbo3490 IDK. A lot more people have to cut their lawns--then know how to fix their cars lol.
      I think EGO/Ryobi are making a killing in OPE, and Makita decided they wanted in on that.

    • @travisjazzbo3490
      @travisjazzbo3490 2 роки тому

      @@DESX312 EGO had a 100% focus on that and you are right... absolutely is killing it. Greenworks is doing well also. Ryobi is so well connected in Home Depot that they are crushing it also, as a tool company going into that space. Makita is light years behind everyone in distribution, marketing, name recognition, etc, in the USA... but not in most of the rest of the world.
      Also, generally Makita is not for homeowners like DW, Rigid and Ryobi are. So as far are focusing on professionals, Automotive is a very smart move on Milwaukee's part and they also do well in plumbing and electrical.
      Makita is more general construction, woodworking, and not OPE for professionals

    Love Makita cordless tools. I have around ten tools on 18 volts. Going to 40 volt is fine and all until you realise you have to start from scratch. New batteries, new charger. Batteries are twice the price per watt compared to 18 volt. The charger is triple the price and can only do 40 volt. It can do 18 volt if you buy adapters that are more expensive than the dedicated twin 18 volt charger.
    I feel Makita screwed us, the ones invested in the 18 volt by not providing any compatibility between the platforms. Why DeWalt could but you can't?

    40v has its benefits but in drills and power tools they need to go smaller and lighter, that’s what was so special with makita light and powerful now there going bigger and heavier, that’s why little at a time I have switched to m12, I wished they would make the dust blower in a 18v. Trust me lighter and smaller is the key.

    Bro that battery is $1659.00 for 4 hours of run time on LIGHT. I love the idea but they are way behind their competitors who have 2x longer lasting, water proof not resistant, $700 less, and have better dealer representation, meaning I can easily get support from a human on the spot if my things go down, be given loaners, and Im back up and running until fixed. Box Stores are not doing that! As a professional landscaper the aforementioned companies above also offer fleet incentive programs but even with that, to honestly build out a crew of 2 at the lower prices above specd out to my current set up is $80K. These tools aren't helping me replace the dying employee shortage market, so at the price like the Shark Tank, I'm out! Yo also, the last time I used a 21" mower was like 10 years ago, so not sure how this is that at all geared for the commercial user. Just so we understand I love Makita Power Tools. I run their 40V XGT and 18V LXT platform of tools and love them, its just Ill never be using their outdoor equipment at their current prices. Man they really need to call small company owners like myself if they really want to hear what would benefit my crew and I. I get it if they want to get into the HOME DEPOT consumer game, but I'm not sold on their commercial roll out. Again, this coming from a guy who knows and loves their power tools and their build quality on said tools. Just my 65 cents lol Nice vid though I watched the whole thing hoping for a innovative tool.

    With all these new products, still no dedicated lawn edger, just the Mickey Mouse set up with a power head and edger attachment. About time they introduced new lawn mowers - finally addressed run time issues with 40v system for commercial users and hopefully corrected the major issues with their original 36v LXT system mowers. These mowers have to be the worst, most poorly designed Makita cordless products ever dropped on consumers!

      @@benjaminleslie3155 Hi Benjamin, I hear ya, big Dolmar fan here. The Makita badged saws aren’t so bad, but I’m like you, and you do know they also killed off ALL Gas OPE stuff this past March 31, 2022? I had to laugh at the ‘Rep’ talking to Mark, about the backpack blower, and how you could use that stupid arse ConectX or w/e system. They had a great 4 stroke backpack blower, that was quiet, reliable, and had air cooling for your back. NO MORE! Take care!

    What a load of crap. Gas trimmers, especially Stihl trimmers, are a fundamental part of my tool set up when doing landscaping. The reason is power. I use battery powered hedge trimmers but they do not out perform gas. There is a reason why professionals aren't running around with electric mowers and blowers. I would not buy any of these tools from Makita and I'm being serious. They are home owner tools, not for the professional. If Makita was serious about getting into commercial, they would make a line of hand trimmers because there is a need for that. Right now, the best electric trimmers in my opinion are Husqvarna but they have some major flaws.

    • @DESX312

      Maybe the old crap. This is what the new line of stuff is for:
      Power.
      Makita is already experimenting with 80v (2x 40v batteries) on OPE equipment.
      I'll take an 80v hedge trimmer, hedge cutter, and even small lawnmower over pretty much any gas equivalent.
      I've seen what the 36v crap can do. I'm drooling thinking about the 80v stuff.
