the mobile holder is actually very good not sure how it will be on trails as were i live we have only sand and gravel, on my budget bikes the stem is long enough that i can strap it on there and its sturdy enough, i would still suggest a mobile cover to b used but im happy with it, mind u i only use cheap phones when im on the bike as i like to try jumps and so on :)
If LockPickingLaywer has taught me anything is that you should always check that a chain lock is hardened and have a decent thickness before you use it.
We (70's) kids used to mount our kick stand just behind the crank bearing so when you pedaled off it put the stand up automatically. My Raleigh Chopper came with a chrome one built onto the bottom bracket... Of course the mod kit to have back then was the fibreglass pole and flag... made exiting the back of the bike on an over zealous wheelie a little embarrassing tho. (Good thing with the old choppers, you could just sit back in that plush armchair of a seat and wheelie without effort.) Raleigh Chopper, Most comfortable seat EVER!
Brilliant series, but just goes to prove there are 2 things you cannot go cheap on: phone mount and bike lock - they protect your 2 most valuable possessions! Phone mount - Quad Lock is excellent, and the cases are nice so you can use them as your everyday case. No wobbling, absolutely rock solid - but if you're worried about vibration they do an adaptor for that too. Lock - You absolutely have to go for a decent hardened U-lock with proper lock and a cable to loop through your wheel. Nothing else will suffice. Even then I wouldn't leave it unattended overnight or anything like that. Unless you're a locksmith and know what you're doing, just go for something with "Sold Secure" certification from a decent brand like Abus. Heavy and pricey but worth it.
14:25. As the old addage goes, "Buy once, cry once". Braided steel cable, a clear thick & tough coating (to show its braided cable) with a key is my choice. Live in a large city and not once has my bike been attempted on.
Saved my life just now, hilarious presentation yes, that kickstand looked like it wanted to 'lock-itself-out' on the trail, thanks for the laugh & the smile you beautiful person
I still use a Kryptonite U-lock, although my used Cannondale SuperSix was just stolen here in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles back in June. The guy used liquid nitrogen. Apparently, thieves here in LA have moved on to using acid or liquid nitrogen to break the lock, which unfortunately isn't covered by Kryptonite. Best thing to do is lock it w/a U-lock, then cover it w/a lockdown cover. Amazon has the covers for about $43. With the cover on, the thief can't see where to apply the liquid nitrogen. Also, it would take him longer, thus, risking him getting caught. Try putting an Airtag on the steerer tube or seat tube. Nothing is 100%.
I like the decathlon kickstand. That too with dirt and some use on it the kickstand has gotten tight and no matter how hard you drop it doesn't come down but easily comes down with little leg force.
I love my kickstand, for years Ive been putting my bikes on their sides on the dirty ground scratching pedals and grips. looking for curbs and walls to lean it against but now that I finaly got a shiny new bike i dont wanna do that anymore, I want a kickstand. but now after watching this I have a new fear unlocked, although mine never deployed on its own in a 1000 miles Ive ridden with it jumping a bit, and hitting big roots
The silicon band style phone mounts are trash IMO... for a few dollars more, you can get the sturdier rigid mounts that has a top/bottom spring mechanism that also locks into place. if you need charge port access and go with a sturdy side clamp version, make sure that the clamps don't squeeze any of your side buttons (and calls emergency!). Also nicer mounts let you mount it right next to your stem. Just make sure it's mounted in a way that if you crash, it's more likely not to get hit or get smashed... because you may need it to call for help. I have them on all my MTB and road bikes as my bike computer, music player, etc. ... I also recently installed a kickstand for my dad's bike. I haven't used one of those in forever.
Damn that kickstand really had me kicked in this video. I have the same exact version (just different branding) for only $2 and it's been with me for 3yrs and i never took it off. I can park my bike anywhere 😂🤣😂 P.s. you have to wrap a bit of duct tape or old inner tubes on the part where you will install the kickstand to avoid deep scratches. My old frame has worst since i just installed it directly 👍😂 AND YOU CAN JUST PUT ON A VELCRO WHILE ON TRAILS 😂
But if you use velcro to strap it, how will you do that sick endo to kickstand at the end of your sick bomb down the track?! (Good tips though, might snag a cheap one for my around town bike, biggest jumps I do on that are off curbs and it gets tiring having to find something to lay it down on every time I stop for a break, hah)
I've fitted several such kickstands to a number of bikes over the past year, for myself and others. It works fine, but it will need tightening up several times over the first few months as the rubber grips holding it to the bike frame slowly deform and it will become loose
I have one of those kickstands on all of my bikes. I don't understand why people spend £3000 on a bike, and then drop it on the floor or lean it against a tree (and hence scratch the paintwork) every time they stop.
Please try the Gewage high riser 70mm bar. It is 800mm wide and I love it. Would be curious how good you think it is (and strong since it's 6061aluminum). Made my Enduro bike so much more comfortable.
Kudos for not mentioning the phone mount company you had on your motorcycle directly. I had the same one and after it knackered my camera too, yet they have the audacity to sell you the vibration damper as an extra 😡
I use a rubber phone mount similar to that one for my road bikes that attaches to the stem, keeps it from bouncing nearly as much when attached to the stem instead of the actual handlebars
6:49 had one of those silicone phone holders on my bike for a couple weeks. Had the one that mounts to the stem, and it allowed the phone to bounce off the clamp bolts, dented the case, and then broke the phone on a crash.
I also commute with my bike so have a similar kickstand. It must have a stronger spring as I've never had it deploy accidentally, but then again I also don't ride as hard as Blake. If it ever becomes a problem I'll remove it, but so far it's treated me well. And for the weight weanies, Ive lost 70 lbs since I've started mountain biking so the weight of the kickstand is negligible. I can always lose another pound to compensate.
Also never trust combo locks because they are generally very easy to "pick". I had a bike stolen because of this, I've also opened my dad's bike lock first try after watching a 5 minute UA-cam video.
I don't have a computer, I just use a watch. But when I need navigation I use a webby thing. Though it doesn't have the rotation / detachable thing. I've crashed and the phone went nowhere.
Awesome and entertaining video - as always :-D One question, because i am struggling to find it on the web: What Garmin Mount are you using? Greats from Austria :-)
I need a couple decent kickstands for my e-bike built for long packing trips...it is gonna be heavy fully loaded. But I am also cheap...I will consider a pair of those. I don't want a single dual leg stand, I want the option to use one or the other, or both, as needed.
Yea I have that same phone case for my bike, and it did mess up my camera. It messed up the telephoto lens on my phone so I can’t take long distance photos that I have to zoom into. 😢
8:02 ... is it only me who gets confused that there are EXACLTY the same amount of reviews for the phone holder than for the chain-picking-tool 😋... so don´t give any thrust on reviews btw. impressive Endo to kickstand! 😎🤣
Ive a question Re the phone mount - will the plastic circular mount point of that silicon “bikini” sleeve mount to an “out in front” bike computer mount?
Using that lock would not be enough for any insurance policy covering your bike. For the Scout you would need a Sold Secure Platinum! If you are commuting get a cheap bike to use.
the bike stand is £3 cheaper than a plastic tool to put the chain back on, where you could use pretty much any stick instead, but still, Blake call the stand pricey 😅
Would be curious to see a comparison between the chain tool vs. "grab a stick by the side of the trail to use as a lever". I've had a good amount of success with the latter as an approach if I'm looking to get a chain back on quickly without getting hands covered in grease.
I notice that your chain guide had somehow fallen off while you were demonstrating the first product, you must have found it again because it was back on later in the video 🤣
First product would been useful in the early 2000's but for todays bikes its really kind of a waste . Maybe in a shop setting i guess. But i havent dropped a chain in years ..
Never cheap out on securing your bike..Spens at least 10% of the value of your bike on locks for it..Litelok X series is one of the best out there...Ha!
Have you found any MTB bargains online? Which one of the products Blake got today would you like to try? Let us know 👇
Not the kickstand because that's just wrong! LOL Melt that thing down and make more GMBN Top Caps! ☺
rockshox pike dj for R5000 200 dollars sale
the mobile holder is actually very good not sure how it will be on trails as were i live we have only sand and gravel, on my budget bikes the stem is long enough that i can strap it on there and its sturdy enough, i would still suggest a mobile cover to b used but im happy with it, mind u i only use cheap phones when im on the bike as i like to try jumps and so on :)
Try finding a cheap dropper. Or cheap grips, stem and handlebars
endo to kickstand was too clean.
I had to play that back, too slick.
Style for miles 😎
Fr
I replayed it back and said "DAMN BLAKE THAT WAS DOPE!!"
Thinking of getting a kickstand just to do that now
I heard Nukeproof is calling you, they dislike the kickstand and want their bike back 🤣🤭
Hillarious presentation, as always with Blake 💛
0:03 The way he stands his bike. Now that is style!!
never thought someone could bring so much stezy to putting a kickstand down
If LockPickingLaywer has taught me anything is that you should always check that a chain lock is hardened and have a decent thickness before you use it.

Raleigh Chopper, Most comfortable seat EVER!
If you're worried about the kickstand deploying mid-trail, just add a bit of velcro tape to the frame to strap it down.
The lock cover was tougher than the chain thats crazy 😅
So rubbish! Probably among the worst we've ever seen!
Brilliant series, but just goes to prove there are 2 things you cannot go cheap on: phone mount and bike lock - they protect your 2 most valuable possessions!

Blake seriously needs his own show... he’s just too good 👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙
I know we all think of stands as a bit cheap and naff, but the amount of scratches and grips I would have saved over the years 😂😂😂
Awesome video,Blake is one of GCN's best next to Ollie, keep up the good work my fellow Zimbabwean.🇿🇼
14:25. As the old addage goes, "Buy once, cry once".
Braided steel cable, a clear thick & tough coating (to show its braided cable) with a key is my choice. Live in a large city and not once has my bike been attempted on.
Daaang that kickstand jump was so legit 😂🤜🤛
QuadLock makes the best phone holders by far. I use it every time I go mountain biking and have never had an issue.
Saved my life just now, hilarious presentation yes, that kickstand looked like it wanted to 'lock-itself-out' on the trail, thanks for the laugh & the smile you beautiful person

I love the cheap bike product review videos! Keep them going.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to want to immediately come down here to talk about the Endo to Kickstand intro. Dammit Blake, you're awesome!!
I like the decathlon kickstand. That too with dirt and some use on it the kickstand has gotten tight and no matter how hard you drop it doesn't come down but easily comes down with little leg force.

this guy deserves a raise. who the f can make a kickstand cool again
In the first 10 seconds too
Damn that kickstand really had me kicked in this video. I have the same exact version (just different branding) for only $2 and it's been with me for 3yrs and i never took it off. I can park my bike anywhere 😂🤣😂

Love this Amazon finds series 😂 Blake is funny af! Nicely done GMBN!
I've fitted several such kickstands to a number of bikes over the past year, for myself and others. It works fine, but it will need tightening up several times over the first few months as the rubber grips holding it to the bike frame slowly deform and it will become loose

That kickstendo is too good man!) Should it be considered an essential trick to learn?)
I use a Quad Lock as a phone mount and it is stable and safe and love it.
It's clear someone isn't aware of review fraud techniques on Amazon.
Its being just a content and no more than that here.!
If you want to get a phone mount for mtb i recomend either quadlock, fidlocks mount or the mouse mount. (You will need a new case though)
Peak design is another good option
Please try the Gewage high riser 70mm bar. It is 800mm wide and I love it. Would be curious how good you think it is (and strong since it's 6061aluminum). Made my Enduro bike so much more comfortable.

That intro is on fire 🔥🔥
Amazing how they make all this stuff in the jungle.
😂😂😂
Nailing the ground with that kickstand fully opened in the air ❤
That'll be a bad day at the office!
I use a rubber phone mount similar to that one for my road bikes that attaches to the stem, keeps it from bouncing nearly as much when attached to the stem instead of the actual handlebars

😬 Sorry to hear! You can't trust some things with expensive items can you!
To me this really is the 'Blake and friends' channel.
I also commute with my bike so have a similar kickstand. It must have a stronger spring as I've never had it deploy accidentally, but then again I also don't ride as hard as Blake. That intro! 10/10
💯! Thanks for watching!
Smooth move on the kickstand 😂
You are him bro, that roll up was so dope.
Brilliant!! 😂 especially as I always end up with a load of crap from impulse buying…….keep it up ❤
Also never trust combo locks because they are generally very easy to "pick". I had a bike stolen because of this, I've also opened my dad's bike lock first try after watching a 5 minute UA-cam video.
Didn't noticed that during the One Planet ride 😅
Make sense, it engaged the moment you certain bumps. 😅
you are funny Blake! this was better than many stand up comedians ;)
What happened to the padded seat cover review you had on during the bike lock portion?
😂 about the kick stand.
Can you try putting a Velcro to secure it for trails.
One that you can pull to remove when done shredding
Love this series!
Rehook was a project that went on the sharktank tv show. Happy to see they are still alive
Blake is HILARIOUS!!! 🤣
Blake is so so funny.... sexy tong for your cellphone.... LOL
Great topic guys.
In Blake we trust 😎
Pretty sure combination locks can just be jossled loose. There's an old house where they don't even have to be picked or cut.
Great videos and I always watch them and I’m from New Zealand
Thanks so much, Chris! 🇳🇿
Out of all of those products all I want to know is what watch is Blake wearing it looks awesome.
End to kickstand... learning that.
I don't have a computer, I just use a watch. But when I need navigation I use a webby thing. Though it doesn't have the rotation / detachable thing. I've crashed and the phone went nowhere.
the quadlock bike mount works great, never lost my phone even on the roughest trails
I would really like you guys/girls to do an upto date bike theft video testing gold standard chains and locks abus and litelock do some good ones.
With the phone mount try putting it close to the stem I have one and it stays perfect if you rest it on the stem
Awesome and entertaining video - as always :-D
One question, because i am struggling to find it on the web: What Garmin Mount are you using?
Greats from Austria :-)
I don’t worry about my Amazon kickstand anymore😂
I love these videos. Plz keep on publishing this kind. ❤❤❤
I Use some Velcro straps to hold the kick stand up so it doesn’t fall mid ride
Got that kickstand for my daughter's bike. Her bars were round though, and that thing would spin and drop the bike no matter what I did.
Mankini! Hahaha! Hilarious presentation!
Kickstand are in people! Get with the program!
I need a couple decent kickstands for my e-bike built for long packing trips...it is gonna be heavy fully loaded. But I am also cheap...I will consider a pair of those. I don't want a single dual leg stand, I want the option to use one or the other, or both, as needed.

btw. impressive Endo to kickstand! 😎🤣
Great video 😃
Thanks so much, Anita!
Ive a question Re the phone mount - will the plastic circular mount point of that silicon “bikini” sleeve mount to an “out in front” bike computer mount?
It's not how many people bought the items but how many left a review but you already know it :)
stand need a heaver spring or some type of easy locking mech ?
To be fair, there are some of those phone holders made out of pure aluminum. They are much better for rough stuff, give one a try.
Blake is a strange man. Funny af great presenter
I have one like that cell holder.
For me works fine.😅😊
Using that lock would not be enough for any insurance policy covering your bike. For the Scout you would need a Sold Secure Platinum! If you are commuting get a cheap bike to use.
the bike stand is £3 cheaper than a plastic tool to put the chain back on, where you could use pretty much any stick instead, but still, Blake call the stand pricey 😅
i had one of the bike stands and it snapped when i cased a big jump. i had it on my bike for when i do my paper round!
Just uploaded some pictures of my bike , it would be awesome to see it on bike vault!!
Would be curious to see a comparison between the chain tool vs. "grab a stick by the side of the trail to use as a lever". I've had a good amount of success with the latter as an approach if I'm looking to get a chain back on quickly without getting hands covered in grease.
Need a link for the chain tool from the first item as I can't find it online.
I notice that your chain guide had somehow fallen off while you were demonstrating the first product, you must have found it again because it was back on later in the video 🤣
Oops, did someone forget to add the bit about the tanwall tyres?
That’s what I wanted to know too! I wonder if it got cut last minute because of their Vittoria sponsorship.
The video would have ended up being quite long! Keep an eye out for part 3!
Lmao That Intro Was Clean
and how about the tyres?
Great vid
Cheers!
i am going to try the kickstand slam 🙂
First product would been useful in the early 2000's but for todays bikes its really kind of a waste . Maybe in a shop setting i guess. But i havent dropped a chain in years ..
Hahahhahahha lab it especiallly when drag your bike then stand the bike with yah 😂😂😂😂😂😂 ❤️❤️💯🔥🫶
Mmm, but what was on your saddle when you tested the lock?
One of the many reasons pros dont use grease, they immersion wax.
Never cheap out on securing your bike..Spens at least 10% of the value of your bike on locks for it..Litelok X series is one of the best out there...Ha!
The chain seater looks appealing but, cheapskate that I am, 😄 I just carry a couple of single use plastic gloves in my saddle bag.
What is the link to chain seater or the name of product
Hi what is the best bike lock chain
