Solid piece, Matt.
The Timp 5s are on my wish list for this year
Thanks for the advices also I would like to say that if you are an heavy runner starting your journey in running, it would be good to a slightly longer shoe since the feet (at least with me it does) it gets quite longer during the running, for example after a 30 minutes of zone two and three with a cadence of 160 170 steps per minute my feet gets over 1 cm longer while statically it measure 27 cm it gets slightly longer than my altra escalante 3 which are 28 cm (i guess its size ten in the us). I would love to try the lone peak and based iìin what you are sying I will get it size 10 instead of 10 and a half as i did with the rivera 3. When you start do discorver your feet trying trying different type of shoes is actually fun :D.
Please look at merrell morphlite 100 bucks like 6.5 oz in women’s sample size and road to trail please
Are these long, or just long relative to other Altras? I need a 12.5 in the last few versions of Timps and Lone Peaks, but I’m a 12 in Topos, and most other shoes. Perhaps this is just Altra right-sizing this model?
I think it may be Altra, somewhat. I wear a number of their models and almost 100% of the time I go a half size up to 11 (I'm usually between 10-10.5).
If they could just be consistent across their own range it would be a start and then consistent with others would be a bonus!
My feet both measures a 10 on the brannock and a 10.5 in the timp 5 is perfect
Think compared to altra and the biomechanics that they induce. For running I always get one size bigger shoes and with the escalante after running my index toe could touch the exremities (mind me I am way overwight and working on it). So it makes sense that they made it just a iny bit longer. I wonder if they are doing the same on all the range or just the lone peaks.
Hows the heel fit? I haven't been able to get a good heel lock in the last 3 versions of the timp.
I tried them on today and they feel great. Haven't run in them yet but initial impressions are good
