I absolutely love your videos. I bought my first HD (low rider 2020) a year ago after watching one of your videos on mental health. After the old man said ‘ buy the damn bike!’ I’m currently riding around Australia on it! 🇦🇺 The HD low rider ST doesn’t fancy me however I admire the bike. If I was going to upgrade it be a Fatboy or a Street Glide. Thanks again for the awesome footage!
Funny, "buy the damn bike". 45 years ago I kept dragging my wife to Harley shops. Finally one weekend she said " Just Buy the damn bike". I bought my first Fat Boy. LOL
Seriously Darcy keep these breaking the 4th wall moments coming I love seeing the real life engagement with people. It makes you guys so relatable and really adds a lot of quality to your videos! Great job on this one as always!
If I had the income, this would definitely be at the top of my list. That tobacco sunburst version from the last video is incredible. But I'm a teacher, so I've settled on a 10 year old used Yamaha Bolt. It's a pretty great bike and feels modern in the right places and classic in the right places. Maybe one day an ST will be in my garage!
I bought a 2023 Low Rider S last May, and boy Howdy, she pulls! You almost need a seat belt. I've had many bikes over the years, and this is my favorite bike I've ever owned, absolutely! Love your Harley content; keep up the great work.
I bought my 2016 used Harley in 2019. As of 2024, it still retains 90% of value of price I paid for in the used market. No other brand can retain value as HD.
The Ol' Mans 2022 FXLRS review was one of the reasons I now ride one. Amazing machine, the Company's best. I've dialed mine up with Thrashin supply parts and accessories and I love it more every time I swing my leg over it, 11000 miles later even here in Northern Maine where the weather is an issue 6 months out of the year. Keep them coming brothers across the pond.🤘
Great review Darcy, your videos are getting better and better. I love it when people come up to you to chat, it's very relatable to watch as this happens to me, and probably, many of your other viewers often as well. I don't get the Harley hate, while they are not for me (Triumph fanboy), I do think they are interesting and unique. They have a very cool heritage and history, and to me any motorcycle is a good motorcycle. Choice is good! Keep up the good work.
I’m from Cleveland Ohio and ride a Harley. These are not the Harleys of yesteryear. For fit, finish, power and versatility Harley Davidson is the best motorcycle on the planet.
Another great video showing your realistic appraisal of, and obvious love of motorcycles. I favour the current crop of 'classic and retro style' motorcycles, but have been fortunate to have ridden many Harleys over the years. The premium price will inevitably deter many riders from considering the newer models, however that doesn't mean they aren't well worth thinking about if you can afford one. It would be interesting to have you review some of big Indians, if you get a chance to do so.
Glad you enjoyed it, trying to do that more often now. Posted one of my interactions with the continental gt at the pub and it’s gone viral on instagram! 2.3 million views 🤩
I rode only Harleys for decades but I am now in my European phase. This baby Road Glide looks bad ass. I am semi retired now and watching my money, so Harleys are a luxury not in my lane. The European and Royal Enfield bikes offer much more value for the dollar. Love your channel.
I’ve recently bought my first Harley (Low Rider S 117). Ive had all sorts of bikes over the years. The Low Rider S handles very well and it sounds great!
I added a cobra el Diablo 2 into 1 on my fxlrs 117 & a Don performance tune , was expensive but now it sounds great & has some more torque , my daily is a gen 3 hayabusa , keep up the good work & forget the Harley haters , cheers from Ireland
Very nice, fair minded video. Thanks. They are not for everyone, but many more folks would love them if they tried them. I’ve owned two, as well as bikes from BMW, Honda and Kawasaki. The Harley’s have a special place in my heart. All the best.
I have just bought a indian chief dark horse bobber. Ive bin a harley davidson oner for years. I still have a twincam 1450cc dyna its a grate bike and never let me down. But i think there's new m8.s have lost there character. Have a go on a 116ci indian i think you will love it i love mine. Keep up the good work and keep safe👍
I honestly think a lot of Harley haters hate the Harley rider "attitude" more than the bikes.. The "Harleys are the only real bikes" attitude. And the fact that not all people like a louder bike :) I totally agree on the Harley feel - I am 30 and daily my iron 883 which I bought brand new in 2019. Love it just as much riding today 45.000 kilometers later, as I did the first day I rode it. I the end, it don't matter what you ride, as long as you are happy. Cheers from Denmark, wishing every rider a great summer riding season 💪
Whenever i see a Harley and people bashing on them, i just think people dont understand... Most people bash on Harley Davidson because most people who get a motorcycle want to go fast on or off road, but realistically Harley are in a class of their own, brilliant for cruising long distance, beautiful sound, cushiony and beautiful ride... Will i ever own one? Nope, too expensive. For £15,000 i could get a second hand Harley or a brand new BMW GS1200...
@@Alex_mkII true but most bikes tend to use the basic build quality and tend to be insanely expensive. Look at all the jap bikes up to 700cc they all cost over £4,500, but china clones which are exact copies cost £2,500 on average... I know Chinese bikes don't always last but it shows that there's a lot of companies out there doing cheap stuff but charging expensive amounts.
Ha loved the random conversation with the woman. I put a better rear shock on my lrst which transformed handling with a pillion and on quick tight bumpy backroad corners. I have a range of different bikes from a range of manufacturers and apart from the limited lean angle ( it is a cruiser after all ) the lowrider st really is a great fun bike.
I just got mine a few days ago and it’s surprisingly agile, I love it. I’ve owned naked and R bikes, aside from a Sportster Roadster and the Low Rider ST handling is extremely fun and easy, it’s like a big, fat american football player that can run the 100m in 12s.
Definitely agree that the S looks better than the ST and that those wheels look good. They hopefully won't get any rust spots as quickly as your Standard's wheels did!
I bit the bullet on the price tag and bought one of these last year, and it's an amazing bike! I'm a daily rider and it's absolutely perfect. Feels just at much at home just burbling along as it does pushing it aggressively. In my humble opinion this bike is the gold standard as far as the cruiser segment goes
Liking a video after a long time.Haven't checked all but this video is gem. That lady, scenery, milk. And imortantly a true review with connection with us.
A simple metaphor on biker tribalism from a brit who has owned Japanese 600s and now a classic Fatboy... Just been on vacation in the States. Went to iHop for breakfast. Ordered cinnabun pancakes with bacon and hash browns on the side (smothered in hot sauce) and black coffee. At no point did mock my pancakes for not being black coffee, nor my coffee for lacking the spicy hit of the hot sauce, nor the hot sauce for not giving the creamy sweet of the pancakes. But we do this with bikes. Each tribe so convinced theirs is what everyone really wants (if only theyd try and/or admit it), that they miss the truth: each type of bike is playing a different game. Complaining a Harley doesn't have the performance of a panigale, or a panigale lacks the laid-back cruise ofa breakout is like moaning that a cricketer cant dunk a basketball...... wasn't trying to and won't benefit from the attempt
When you don’t have a garage, you have a problem with a HD. Standing in the cold and rain it probably won’t start when it should. And theft is a real problem here (Amsterdam). Don’t have these problems with my 30 year old R100R. It’s dirty as hell and customized so no one is interested in stealing it. And it never let me down. I’m not a Harley hater, I just think they are not good enough for rough use the whole year through.
I am a Triumph Rocket 3 GT owner i love all brand of motorcycles Harley was my dream bike to posses but with the Rocket all other motorcycles for me are just boring no other motorcycle come near the Rocket in term of torque and is where for me the fun is at , but still love Harley model and the ST look sweet never had the chance to test one im sure its alot of fun great looking bike not as nice as the Rocket lol but nice to look at , great review and ride safe man, and hello from Montreal Quebec Canada.
Great review , I love the Low Rider ST, has to be most usable bike in the current. H-D range, it probably handles better than anything else in the H-D range too, the only changed I'd make would be the exhaust to make it sound like a Harley and then convert the digital instrument console to an analogue clock (like the Low Rider S) as for Harley 'Hater's ' ignore them they clearly have no taste and are just plain ignorant
Yeah there's 345 million people who live here, not all of us are A-holes. I'd say the majority of us are good people, and would react just as Darcy did. Very few of us are what people from other countries see on TV.
I love all bikes including Harleys. I would love to own a Road Glide one day, but a Harley isn't going to out perform many bikes, especially a proper naked bike like a street triple and up. A street triple would run circles around any harley anywhere. As would any proper naked. It's no contest. Power to weight ratios do not lie...that said Harleys are great bikes, so fun to ride. They "feel" much faster than they are. One day ill have a Road Glide for sure. But Ill always have a proper naked and maybe a super sport as well. I love leaving in the random people walking up and talking. I always enjoy you and your dad's reviews.
I have the Low Rider S.. my first HD. love the low seat height.and the motor.. I wish it had gold forks and absolutely hate the bronze wheels !!..here in Australia, my 2023 model is now $6,000 cheaper..I ll never buy another Harley but love that torque and sound.
Listening to you talking to the lady who was asking you questions about what you were doing filming the bike I was thinking that is is amazing how the way people get reviews of the motorcycles they are interested in has changed over the years. When I started out it was all MCN and Bike Magazine but these days there are so many good channels and you can find UTubers who have similar preferences in bikes to yourself. I watch videos about touring and more touring/cruiser orientated bikes. As much as I would like to take a Speed Triple RS for a blast (and I'm sure it would be fun) I'd be more inclined to buy a Bonneville or a Kawasaki Z900RS simply because of the age and stage I am at. I no longer have any real interest in (uncomfortable) supersports or hyper-naked bikes as I generally prefer to take things easy and for me its about the experience of being out in the country on a motorcycle that matters rather than trying to see how fast I can take a particular corner. I agree 100% with your comment on bikes with gold forks - I painted my 1979 RD400DX in JPS Back Gold colours and painted the forks gold also but back then it was a unique look. Now it's way too common and I generally prefer black. Motorcycle number plates in Canada are smaller than car number plates.
Lovely looking bike. Never had an HD, but always wanted one, they are the bike that first got me in when I was a kid. They are just too far out of my price range, plus not having indoor parking, or even a drive, would be worried leaving it out in the weather! Maybe one day…
Dont know why but I really like this bike from HD. Especially in the two tone blue and white that they offer. Its not a beautiful bike but somehow crudely purposeful and masculine. Its only been in the past decade or so that Ive fancied some of what HD has offered. Still think theyre seriously overpriced however tastes change as you get older and thus what youre willing to accept. Thanks for the review as I havent seen any channels giving this bike any attention.
As someone that owns a dyna street bob and a z900 this is the ONLY bike I'd be willing to get rid of my dyna for. As badass as it is I promise you it would not come close to keeping up with my Z though!!!
Harley Davidson is in a weird place right now, at least in the US. They make some cool bikes like this one, but they are priced at a premium and dealers (at least near me) are not up front with their pricing and have a tendency to add a lot of fees. At the same time, BMW and Indian are offering significant discounts on their cruisers. The BMW (and others) dealer near me is offering a BMW R18 Classic for the same price the local HD dealer wants for a Softtail Standard. The value proposition just isn't there for HD products in my area, in my opinion. I don't know what impact that may or may not have on people watching videos, but speaking for myself, I am more likely to watch a video for something I may actually buy. With all that said, I love the channel. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic video. A nice continuation from pick-up day. It is a very beautiful bike. I am not a huge Harley Davidson fan unless you're talking about the Pre War bikes. Yes, I know there's no comparison to the modern bikes. I'm not into death speed any more... Your riding experience with this one has made me reconsider this model...
I've owned a couple of Harleys and a couple of BMWs over the years. I don't think people really hate the motorcycles or even dislike them. I believe a lot of animosity comes from the pricing and the arrogance of the riders who think they are a cut above other riders because they can afford to purchase those brands. I was a sales manager for BMWs twenty years ago or so and I saw a lot of the clientele act this way and even I began to dislike the brand because of this thinking.
That is a large part of the problem. Over here in BC, every rider will give you the wave as you pass but maybe a quarter or harley riders do. My personal favourite harley rider was a dude who I met in Squamish who couldn't get his bike to start and still acted condescending to everyone else who didn't have a harley but whose bikes started. He was so ingrained in the image that's all he cared about. So Harley's are cool, though they don't fit my use case for bike personally.
I think you may have answered your own question, i.e.," it's not affordable for most of the general public," My personal thought is that the problem lies there. If someone is talking about owning a Brough superior or a vincent shadow then yes it's nice to listen to but it doesn't hold you for long or make you want to contribute or listen for to long as you can't relate to owning one, its nice or OK. But when you show someone a bike that you could or maybe able to actually own well then it's a total new ball game, you instantly have a connection & real possibilities in wanting to know more & if not this one then I wait for the next one as that could be better.
I think it looks stunning, got a raw practical look to it BUT the issue I have is the premium price and how quick they tarnish with Welsh weather. You really have to keep on top of the cleaning as they oxidise really quickly here with all our wet weather, a couple of lads I know have them and the speedometer fogs up when riding all the time and the oldest HD is 3 years old my 1995 kwak ZL600 has only just started to fog up and that’s been out in everything over the past 13years of riding that. They definitely keep their value, which confuses me, I picked up a XV1900 at a fantastic price, cheaper than a 883 of the same year and mileage and that’s the crux of the matter for me. I love HD’s if it wasn’t for a 1928 HD my grandparents would never of met and my grandmother hated motorbikes…. (yes she was a nurse and yes my grandfather crashed it and was in a coma for 2 weeks) there is a strong nostalgia toward them for me but until I either win the lottery or my business takes off I can’t justify the cost. Here’s for hoping 🤞
Really enjoy your videos chaps. I really wouldn’t get too hung up about if people like / dislike your Harley videos or what all the youtube data tells you. If you guys like these types of bikes then just enjoy them and review them. Just focusing on bikes / brands that get a lot of views would be very frustrating from your POV I would imagine. Keep up the great work. 👍
I used to dislike harley until I rode one, I listened to my friends about how slow and boring they were... Boy were they wrong! I dont think you need all the power of a liter bike on the road. I ended up getting a dyna and customizing it to my liking with legends and a memphis shade fairing, harley has the absolute best aftermarket.
Great review on the Harley! I have an S myself, but will probably get the fairing separate. Also, for all the other faults I’m sure Britain has, it must be nice to live somewhere that you can hear the word “juxtaposition”, not in a lecture, not in a meeting, but in a conversation with a random stranger on the street, about a motorcycle. 🤣
I prefer the old style Harley Davidsons, this one looks ok for a modern one but I also don't like the gold forks and the massive numberplate. The milk looks nice 👌 hope it was it one piece by the time you got home 👍🏼
This is a beautiful bike. Honestly I can't see where all the moaning on price when a BMW gs is over £20k now. I don't have the money fir either, but I just love the sound and look of a Harley..❤
I remember Darcy's Dad make a comment about the British bike number plate size & positioning, saying that "you can easily SLICE your leg on it" ... I cannot unhear his words. Ever.
Not really a Harley fan but I might buy one to attract nice young ladies like this one does. Your videos are getting more like Alan millyards each time 😂 that's not a bad thing either. 👍
i absolutely love the look of this bike. On a fatbot at the moment and thinking of swapping. Interested to know what your Dad thought of this one as im similar build and height to him.
It's funny you talk about chrome making a comeback. I've ALWAYS rode blacked out bikes since 2007, going for ratty, nasty, rough and mean looking. But I've always secretly liked chrome, I was just "too cool" to ride what everyone else was riding. So then, everything went "blacked out", all Harley's and other brands' main pushes were blacked out bikes. So by then, I started wanting a chrome bike lol. I bought a 2021 Heritage Classic in "Billiard Teal and chrome", and it stood out so much amongst the blacked out bikes. I guess it's like a hipster thing, I'm always on the other end of the pendulum when the trends are swinging back and forth, lol. Now I have one of each, a (semi) blacked out RE Classic 350, and the new HD Hydra Glide Revival to get my chrome fix.
Personally, I like the Harley videos in your channel the most. This is what attracted me to your channel together with your personality and way of sharing your thoughts. As to why Harley videos perform worse than other brands... well, I think that most people spend more time focused on what they can afford to buy, than what they aspire to perhaps purchase one day. I have seen your comment in the thread about "people watch Top Gear for Ferraris and Paganis.", but in my opinion, a UA-cam format is rather focused on very potential consumers, not so much the "perhaps one day I will be able to"-guy. Here comes a second thought that perhaps will be of use: the man that owns a Harley is mostly well-established in their career, is a bit older, probably has a family... so they have less time to watch UA-cam. On the other end of the spectrum, the young man that does not have a family yet, and is working to earn money for themselves only, is trying to establish themselves, not yet earning as much as to be able to afford monthly payments of 300-400€ for 5 years + a 100€ insurance + a closed parking space + qualitative workmanship at an HD dealership or good mechanic (about 1000€ in costs yearly) -- but they have more time on their hands. I do not believe these points haven't come across anybody else's mind, but maybe as a summary of the circumstances, they might be worth considering. All in all, however, I have a grin on my face every single time I see an HD related video on your channel when I am holding my hot cup of coffee in the morning. Thank you for this content.
What a great video 👍I would love a go on a Harley , but the problem is they are very expensive and I could never convince my wife that 20 k on a bike is a good purchase😂 a very Niche bike , I think there are great 👍
For me, blocking the wind is like taking the best part out of motorcycle riding, adding a rather large fairing obscuring a significant part of the road ahead, for wind deflection, is just wrong. Sure, the head is above it and there is little need to look just in front of the front wheel, but still, I feel blocked off and restricted, I can be restricted in a comfy car, I ride to feel free, comfort is for home/car.
*EXACTLY* no fairings (after I sold my second GPZ 900R back in the 90s) on my bikes. Strictly naked only, especially in the actually 42°C temperatures...
Awesome review. Fort Nine channel, the biggest motorcycle channel in history, did a very favorable review of Harley's air cooled V-Twin engines; Ryan F9 explained the detailed engineering of the engine, and why the single crank pin Harley engine actually doesn't vibrate much at all when the motorcycle is actually rolling, due to the unusual crankshaft balancing of the single crank pin crankshaft. The shaking you get at idle goes away completely when the bike is moving because the air cooled Harley engines only vibrate fore and aft, and not up and down. Pretty interesting.
It’s a really nice bike Darcy and I don’t mind cruisers and have owned some but there’s no way a cruiser can out handle a decent naked, if you are used to riding cruisers and ride all bikes like a cruiser then sure I can appreciate the HD may do well but assuming sane rider there is just no way you can throw a 300kg bike into a turn like a naked half its weight, and most nakeds can be set up to soak bumps, the lighter the bike the better the suspension can be set up as it has to do less. Sure I used to throw my Rocket 3 around and used to steam-roll the bumps but couldn’t do what I do on back lanes on lighter bikes, nor carry the speed mid corner. Physics. I’ll give one a try but 300kg bikes just don’t float my boat. Not bothered by the whole HD/Anti HD thing personally. Keep up the great content mate, haters will always hate but I figure all bikes are great, 👍 and variety the spice of life 😎 Love you to do a ride on a Yam MT-01 or Rocket 3R and compare 💡 And torque and power are the same thing, it’s just where a bike pulls, personally I love the character of a big capacity lugger *with an exhaust.
@@splodge57 aye true but I think what @darcy was suggesting is that what we mean by ‘good handling’ varies and where a big bike like this does really well is with good dampening for mixed roads, stability and solidity and 💯 I get that. You can see with view that a touch of counter steer on bars and bike responds so that front end is definitely doing something and the rake doesn’t look super stretched, When we start to talk about sporty handling it’s all relative of course and if you aren’t into leaning a bike in and carrying loads of mid corner speed, super twisty stuff.. but rather slow in and power out and more flowing bends then these bikes make huge sense to me.
I've only ever heard of the whole "harley hater" thing from harley riders. At least over here in Vancouver the people who buy harleys often take people buying anything else to mean they hate harleys, or they take the idea of "that bike doesn't fit my use case for a motorcycle so I'd rather buy something that does" to mean people hate harleys. I daily my bike it hail, rain or shine. And in Vancouver you can't do that on a harley. They're lifestyle accessories, not everyday means of transport. and that's fine for some people, but not everyone wants a lifestyle accessory.
Harley Davidson’s are great bikes , solid, great feel, and when taken care of they last forever…and actually appreciate. Recently the $$ for all motorcycles has gotten a bit out of hand…economy’s globally are struggling and buying luxury items for the majority of folks is assumed too risky currently. For those who can afford HDs there’s really nothing else like them…they own the heavy touring genre…sorry Indian. But Indian’s also are fabulous
Don't like the 'clocks', the single seat and the extra £500 for the black paint. I like the yellow perspex number plates and it's easy to buy them in a smaller sensible size. The Sport Glide would be right for me, dual seat and a 107 engine that you can pick up new for £16300, in black.😊
Really good review. 👍 Regarding the R18, i love the streamlined, retro, simplified, uncluttered look of the bike but surely it came in massively overpriced. I've not yet seen an R18 in the flesh, so to speak! I'd be interested to know how many BMW have sold from new in the UK?
I have one. Love it. They are a rare sight on the roads. Around 425 of the R18FE have been sold since launch (not including the B, Classic or TC models). Worldwide sales are on par with the R9T. Contrary to what some like to believe it does have a steady following but clearly in the US it’s a harder sell due to HD brand loyalty.
Good review. Very attractive bike. You look great on it. Dials on the tank are not easy to read, you have to lower your head all the time. I have an Heritage 114 and i seldom watch the dial.
Can you please confirm if this bike came equipped with the Reflexive Defense Rider System (RSDS). I get conflicting info if this safety system comes standard or even available on the LRST. If it does I am sold. Thanks for checking for me🙏
It does not have the full RDRS package; just bought a 24 myself and did some research. It does have part of the package with the basic traction control but not the full cornering traction control or hill hold. I've also owned a limited with the full RDRS and can confirm this does not have the full package.
Great review, I do like this bike and would definitely consider one for my next bike. The number plate does stand out but it’s positioning is awful, if it was smaller and white located in the same place it would still be awful, it’s as if HD forgot it needed one. I had a look at some other HD models and they integrate in much better than this one. Keep up the great work.
I've ride an Low-rider S, not this one and it was the best HD I've ever ride. This fairing is beautiful and what about the speedometer? Is it as bad as it looks?
It may hide its weight on the move, but what about a T junction uphill 90 degree hill start where you've had to come to a stop before proceeding? Could be a recipe for dropping a bike that's so heavy you can't pick it up. I think that lady who chatted to you fancied you! Did you score? 😁 That big massive plastic open-backed fairing with the 'surprised staring eye' single headlight is pretty unattractive I must say. I don't know why there is 'hatred' from some quarters for HD bikes. It's the same with the BMW GS, a fantastic bike. I just don't understand it. Maybe it's because they are at the expensive end of the price range and it's a jealousy thing? I don't know. Thanks for the vid - enjoyable as always. Looking forward to more from the ol' man as well.
Nice video, as usual! ...but I still don't like new harleys. I like small, efficient, light and nimble bikes. Also the cult thing around hd seems very dumb to me. The nice thing is that there is a bike for everyone's taste.
Great honest review - would be useful to see you man-handle the bike out of a parking slot for example as that would be my fear of a bike that size; as you say, once riding you tend not to notice the weight, especially when low down.
I absolutely love your videos. I bought my first HD (low rider 2020) a year ago after watching one of your videos on mental health. After the old man said ‘ buy the damn bike!’
I’m currently riding around Australia on it! 🇦🇺
The HD low rider ST doesn’t fancy me however I admire the bike.
If I was going to upgrade it be a Fatboy or a Street Glide.
Thanks again for the awesome footage!
Awesome, great to hear 👍🏼👍🏼
Ride on Bro! Ride on!
Funny, "buy the damn bike". 45 years ago I kept dragging my wife to Harley shops. Finally one weekend she said " Just Buy the damn bike". I bought my first Fat Boy. LOL

Got the S 117 after watching your dad’s review on it in 2022 😂. Best motorcycle I’ve ever ridden and owned. Great review!
I love that you kept the curious lady in the video. Just a pleasant interaction. Greetings from Arizona, USA and Harley owner.

I bought my 2016 used Harley in 2019. As of 2024, it still retains 90% of value of price I paid for in the used market. No other brand can retain value as HD.
I bought Indian as my first bike, it lost more than 60% of its value, I wish I didn’t hesitate 2 years ago and went with HD instead…
Loved the fact you left the natural interaction with that lady in the video. Very interesting and made the video more real
100% ... you need to ride this bike ... one of the best bike's I've ever owned
I have had a Lowrider S for a year, it's my 6th harley and the best one I've owned... Monster of a bike, that is fun at sensible speeds

Great video Darcy 👍 love the way you keep the camera rolling when people walk past, brilliant 👏
Glad you enjoyed it, trying to do that more often now. Posted one of my interactions with the continental gt at the pub and it’s gone viral on instagram! 2.3 million views 🤩
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Amazing mate!!!! Well deserved 👏
Nice to know you’ve still got it
I rode only Harleys for decades but I am now in my European phase. This baby Road Glide looks bad ass. I am semi retired now and watching my money, so Harleys are a luxury not in my lane. The European and Royal Enfield bikes offer much more value for the dollar. Love your channel.
Thanks, great to hear 👍🏼
I love the bit where the lady came and talked with you. 🙂
I love all bikes. There are some I don't have a desire to own, but I don't dislike any bikes. It seems like a waste of energy to dislike brands, etc.
I’ve recently bought my first Harley (Low Rider S 117). Ive had all sorts of bikes over the years. The Low Rider S handles very well and it sounds great!
Enjoy your new ride 👍🏼👍🏼
I own the 21 S and it's the best bike on the planet. Pop in a tuner and upgrade your pipes and air intake and you will love your life
I added a cobra el Diablo 2 into 1 on my fxlrs 117 & a Don performance tune , was expensive but now it sounds great & has some more torque , my daily is a gen 3 hayabusa , keep up the good work & forget the Harley haters , cheers from Ireland
And the fact that not all people like a louder bike :)
I totally agree on the Harley feel - I am 30 and daily my iron 883 which I bought brand new in 2019. Love it just as much riding today 45.000 kilometers later, as I did the first day I rode it.
I the end, it don't matter what you ride, as long as you are happy.
Cheers from Denmark, wishing every rider a great summer riding season 💪
Harleys are junk . Men overcompensating for there lack of testosterone- back stickers
The issue is that building a bike that can cruise requires only the most basic engineering, and in no way justifies HD's bloated prices.
Awesome presentation of a lovely bike, Darcy 👍
Many thanks!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan U R most welcome, mate 🤝
I bit the bullet on the price tag and bought one of these last year, and it's an amazing bike! I'm a daily rider and it's absolutely perfect. Feels just at much at home just burbling along as it does pushing it aggressively. In my humble opinion this bike is the gold standard as far as the cruiser segment goes
Liking a video after a long time.Haven't checked all but this video is gem. That lady, scenery, milk. And imortantly a true review with connection with us.
Thank you 😊
A simple metaphor on biker tribalism from a brit who has owned Japanese 600s and now a classic Fatboy...
🇨🇦✌️😎
Great review , I love the Low Rider ST, has to be most usable bike in the current. H-D range, it probably handles better than anything else in the H-D range too, the only changed I'd make would be the exhaust to make it sound like a Harley and then convert the digital instrument console to an analogue clock (like the Low Rider S) as for Harley 'Hater's ' ignore them they clearly have no taste and are just plain ignorant
Classy. Americans take note. Even when someone interrupts you. You Didn’t get butt hurt. Very nice and respectful of you.
Sounds like the guy lobbying insults at a country of people you don’t know is the one who is butthurt.
Thanks, enjoyable video. Great looking bike, and beautiful backdrop.
Low rider s is such a nice machine and I don’t like HD but after riding one I can understand the hd sound and feel it was very good
Put a Stage 2 on your Harley and you will notice the difference and it's more classic Harley looking.👍
23 models have deep cuts in the states.
I love mine 2023 Low rider ST Fast johnnie.
Harley’s are fabulous bikes and a pleasure to own.
I rode one. I loved it. Just the knee position felt wierd to me, knees above the gas tank.
I feel the same way when I sit on a Harley, but I suppose one gets used to it after a few days.
It’s interesting to hear, it always seems different in the car world. People love to watch a video about a Lamborghini that they will never afford
I'd opt for the Heritage softail.Very little difference in price.
Here’s for hoping 🤞
funny enough i've been considering a Harley recently, i quite like the look of the sport glide
Really appreciate it! Great way of putting it
Great video, love the Harley reviews, thanks !
Other than the Sportster I don’t think I’ll ever own a Harley but I love to watch vids on them.
Ever.
Nice video Mr Darcy,. I love one review on the indian chief. Saludos desde México ✌️
Thank you 😊
Not really a Harley fan but I might buy one to attract nice young ladies like this one does. Your videos are getting more like Alan millyards each time 😂 that's not a bad thing either. 👍
i absolutely love the look of this bike. On a fatbot at the moment and thinking of swapping. Interested to know what your Dad thought of this one as im similar build and height to him.
He’s not ridden this one yet, he has ridden the Low Rider S though and that was good for his height
By the time you get back home, the milk has turned into buttermilk and clotted cream. Win-win ^^
Bet he didn't buy any eggs.
Hahah that’s brilliant, I’m totally the same. Don’t want to fit in with the masses 👌🏻😎
Rule 1. Don’t engage with people on horses. Great video 👍
*EXACTLY*
no fairings (after I sold my second GPZ 900R back in the 90s) on my bikes.
Keep up the great content mate, haters will always hate but I figure all bikes are great, 👍 and variety the spice of life 😎
Love you to do a ride on a Yam MT-01 or Rocket 3R and compare 💡
And torque and power are the same thing, it’s just where a bike pulls, personally I love the character of a big capacity lugger *with an exhaust.
Thanks, we have done two reviews on the Rocket 3R and one on the GT so if you scroll through our videos you will find them 👍🏼👍🏼
If you try and throw a 300kg bike around like a 180kg bike one day it will stand up and bite you.
@@splodge57 aye true but I think what @darcy was suggesting is that what we mean by ‘good handling’ varies and where a big bike like this does really well is with good dampening for mixed roads, stability and solidity and 💯 I get that. You can see with view that a touch of counter steer on bars and bike responds so that front end is definitely doing something and the rake doesn’t look super stretched,
When we start to talk about sporty handling it’s all relative of course and if you aren’t into leaning a bike in and carrying loads of mid corner speed, super twisty stuff.. but rather slow in and power out and more flowing bends then these bikes make huge sense to me.
The Lowrider to me is quite a beautiful bike. Would love to ride it but as stock it is way too small for mxy6"5'.
Yes you can go to work on any old cronk.
@@jayneteale9782 you seem to be one of those people I mentioned.
As far as the fairing goes, it looks like they were thinking about having some small storage pockets along the top sides, then changed their minds. 🤔😎
Funny that people come to talk while making the video😊
Haha, love your point about Harleys being surprisingly easy to handle. Maybe they should come with a warning: 'More fun than you think ..But price🥴
With models like Low rider S/ST, Fat Bob, HD atracts more people.
1:40 put your hood on brother, we don’t mind 😄, and I’ve always loved yourHarley Davidson videos!!!
Regarding the R18, i love the streamlined, retro, simplified, uncluttered look of the bike but surely it came in massively overpriced. I've not yet seen an R18 in the flesh, so to speak! I'd be interested to know how many BMW have sold from new in the UK?
The Ol Man was one in the UK who bought an R18 and loves it 👍🏼
I have one.
Thanks for checking for me🙏
@@director2bob sorry I cannot remember, if you go to the Harley Davidson website this info should be on there 👍🏼
It does not have the full RDRS package; just bought a 24 myself and did some research. It does have part of the package with the basic traction control but not the full cornering traction control or hill hold.
I've also owned a limited with the full RDRS and can confirm this does not have the full package.
If i only liked my feet in front of me. Great looking bike! Great review. Hope you enjoy your time with it.
Don’t you feel your legs stays to high? I was riding several Harleys back to back and the Road Glide from same year and it felt more dynamic
I wasn’t aware that there are cougars running wild in England. 😁
Great video! 👌
My dad is about to ride around Australia on his, sold his Road Glide for it.
Awesome 👍🏼👍🏼
It may hide its weight on the move, but what about a T junction uphill 90 degree hill start where you've had to come to a stop before proceeding? Could be a recipe for dropping a bike that's so heavy you can't pick it up.
I think that lady who chatted to you fancied you! Did you score? 😁
That big massive plastic open-backed fairing with the 'surprised staring eye' single headlight is pretty unattractive I must say.
My ears are cold, wish I had a hat. Is that a hoodie I see back there😂😂😂. Great video mate just taking the piss.
I love the bike, but the rear numberplate location is ridiculous, should be lower, covering the back wheel , D’oh 🙃
Nice video, as usual!
...but I still don't like new harleys.
I like small, efficient, light and nimble bikes. Also the cult thing around hd seems very dumb to me.
The nice thing is that there is a bike for everyone's taste.
New Zealand has the best looking license plates.
True but the ones in Lichtenstein are as well very nice
Great honest review - would be useful to see you man-handle the bike out of a parking slot for example as that would be my fear of a bike that size; as you say, once riding you tend not to notice the weight, especially when low down.
The weight is so low down, they're a doddle to paddle around
