  • Welcome back to my channel for another #watercolour painting #tutorial. This time forget the pretty blue skies and sunshine with nice soft fluffy clouds and that sort of thing we like to see in the summertime. This watercolour painting is quite the opposite. I'm using the one inch hake as normal to start this painting, but with nothing but paynes grey and just using tissue paper and a mop brush to pull out some cloud formations here and there.
I'm also using M.grahams pigments in this video! Later on in the painting I will show you how to successfully paint rocks in the foreground using a small piece of credit card to scrape out highlights.
I really hope you enjoy this one, of so please hit the like button and watch to the end. Happy painting everyone 😀

Thanks greatly for sharing your technique to create a dramatic sky scene with a river flowing down the valley, amazing painting using minimum pallette

I can’t believe this started out as random blobs of color. The deep blues are very nice and are reminiscent of Japanese art to me. I love the movement - especially at the top of the painting and with the riverbed.

I'm just starting my journey into the fascinating world of watercolour. Really liked this moody scene. I like to watch the full process. How it all develops.

Hello, I just found your channel and had to leave a note to let you know how much I enjoyed seeing your techniques, and the scene come to life. Just lovely! You asked to let you know whether we prefer shorter or longer videos...the longer the better! Cant wait to see more.

Im not a fan of timelapse, unless you do a voice-over explaining what you are seeing within the painting process. This was very enjoyable, thank you
