  • I had to go to the Doctors yesterday and while I was in Ossett I called in to a butchers I have not been to before and bought a few items to review - So what were they like ?
The Cornish Pasty was excellent - the pastry was perfect and perfectly seasoned - the filling was excellent - the Beef was perfectly cooked and had no Gnarl in it - the vegetables were cooked really well and overall it was an excellent Cornish Pasty which I would buy again without doubt and I score it 10 out of 10 - The Cornish pasty had a nice peppery aftertaste
The Pork Pie was superb and had a nice amount of jelly inside which is so often missing in pies these days - again the pastry was perfect in every way - the filing was full of flavour and cooked very well with no nasty hidden surprises within - I would buy this again without doubt and I score it 10 out of 10 - Well done to Richmonds Butchers of Ossett West Yorkshire !
Thank you to Layla for assisting me with the review !

Hi Graham both looked amazing and I would struggle to pick a winner between both products. There is nothing better than pasties, pies, bridies, sausage rolls from your local butchers /baker. Excellent quality and flavour. Important we keep supporting our local businesses.

Good Morning Robert , thank you for the comment - I agree with you ! you cant beat the butchers produce it is far better than the supermarket mass produced stuff ! both these were excellent and full of flavour ! I like to support the local shops and many times they are cheaper and better quality than the supermarkets ! Have a great weekend my friend :-)

Hi Graham the meat returns!!! The pasty and the pork pie looks incredible. Love a Cornish and a proper Pork Pie with lovely jelly. And I have indeed missed seeing Layla and glad that she has got her Tastebuds back! Cheers Paul

Nice to see Kiefer Suthetland's face😂 I used to get Richmond sausages in Iceland (shop) when they were still in Ireland. I'm glad you liked the pastry as well, as the meat and veg. Great review☘️

Good Morning Finola, thank you for the comment - both the pie and pasty were delicious - everything about them was perfect ! Keifer Sutherland has to be one of the scariest Vampires ever and The Lost Boys was a great film ! Wishing you and the family a lovely Friday :-)

Wot no jelly? That pork pie looked so packed, i didn't see jelly, was there any in it Graham? Both look absolutely gorgeous! I never really liked the taste of Cornish pasty, my favourite was always cheese & mushroom, but can't find them anywhere now. I'm not a massive fan of pastry, but i do like the taste of pork pie pastry, especially the white bit. Lovely to see Layla again ❤ Have a great day Graham. Check out my "poem" in your Quiche Lorraine poem video 😉

Good Afternoon Kate , thank you for the comment - the jelly was there but had melted due to cooking and it was great to see it as so many pies these days leave it out - I am glad to see Layla back as well she is a big part of my life - I will check out your poem ! have a lovely afternoon :-)

Brilliant video Graham i absolutely love pasties especially proper cornish pasties my ex girlfriend's mother was from Cornwall and made them the traditional way with skirt, potato and swede or turnip as she called it and loads of black pepper. And pork pies amazing hot or cold i personally prefer them cold with brown sauce but hot is fine if you are ever in a town called Mold in Flintshire there is a butchers called Hulsons and they are renowned for their pork pies but have usually sold out by 10 in the morning 👍👍🥧🥧

Good Afternoon Robert , thank you for the comment - I will be passing through Mold " Yr Wyddgrug " next month and if we stop I will take a look ! Skirt is a wonderful meat I have to say ! I have had many Cornish Pasties over the years and the best for me was from Crantock Bakery - We are supposed to call them Yorkshire Pasties now but the Butcher must not have heard that ! lol I like Pork pies with Mushy Peas and always used to get that at Half time at the Footie ¬Cold they are perfect as well ! have a great afternoon my friend :-)

@@robertlindop9365 Agreed my friend ! many moons ago my friend and I used to go the Huddersfield Town games when they were at home and then to Elland Road the week after to support Leeds that was back in the day with Billy Bremner , Alan Clark and that awful goal keeper Gary Sprake ! my goodness he made some mistakes ! I dont remember what years it was but it was the season they beat Southampton 7 -0 ! 1972 ? have a great evening :-)

Good Morning George , thank you for the comment ! In true Yorkshire fashion " How Much " ? I dont ask for donations to the channel so that will never happen ! but who in their right minds would pay that much for a pasty ? have a great Friday :-)

Graham, yes theyre sadly expensive but was good last time, they also do hampers - beers and pasties etc. Yes a Yorkshire or Leeds fella likely hates spending money.

good review but that's not a cornish pasty 1 because the crimp is on the top an it has to be on it's side an 2 there's no carrots in a cornish pasty

Good Morning David, thank you for the comment - well spotted to be fair we are supposed to call them Yorkshire Pasties these days but it was a a very tasty pasty ! I have had a lot of pasties in Cornwall over the years and found they differed so much ! the best one I remember was from Crantock Bakery that was sublime ! have a great day my friend :-)
