@@ermygang Yes, he was touching his knee, but in the gesture of clapping, its the same as when players tap the table after their opponent has made a good snooker.
Same goes with Tony Drago, when a player attemps to make 147, somehow he is either the opponent or player at the other table, he can be seen at any 147 celebrations
I'm the last decade Ronnie O'Sullivan has won 4 worlds,3 Masters and 3 UKs so 10 Majors but Selby has proven to be his closest competitor because he's won 4 worlds and was one frame from the 2020 final where he would have been huge favourite but he still won a Master and 2 Uk titles. So Selby is the only player to get close to Ronnie O'Sullivan in Major wins over the decade but people sometimes forget. He is top 5 or 6 player in snooker history IMHO.
147 is possibly the hardest thing to do in all of sport and to do it infront of a crowd its just something else. Not the biggest fan of selbys style but what a fucking pleasure this was to watch
I think in every sport game the perfect score is something that involves a little bit of luck and huge skill however, in snooker its is 100% skill and 0% luck. Well at least this 147 break was clean and accurate to the level of aimbot in a computer game I am truly amazed by the level of precision and accuracy of Mr. Selby
Well you are not going to make an 147 or a century with some extra luck that I can tell you, sometimes you really need the golden kisses to get perfectly right on the next one. But I get what you are saying, it's a lot more skills involved in snooker than luck compared to pool, 9 ball especilly.
In shooting with gun, it's important that your dominant eye is aligned with your dominant arm, if it's the opposite my coach said it would be terribly difficult to aim accurately
I've always wondered about snooker, in the modern era, they ref still verbally says the break score. When there are monitors displaying the score. Why do they do this still? I would love to try this sometime, but none in my area of the states sadly.
The reason why they continue to verbally say the score is to keep them focused and not have there minds wonder off and when they are doing a match which the referee is both the scorer and referee, they keep score so that they don't forget to add points to the scoreboard
@@cantaloupeme Well, the referee tends to say how many points they are on after the player has taken a shot so as not to distract them. The only time a referee may distract a player is if they move while the player is playin the shot or when they try to tell a member of the audience to keep still but that very rarely happens as the referee will normally put there hand up as a signal to the audience to be quiet
When the score is called, the referee has told the player that, in his opinion (her in this case as it’s Desislava that’s the ref) the table is at rest and the player may proceed without fear of a foul being called because a ball is still moving or a ball has been improperly spotted. Also, in the clubs they don’t have access to video (for retakes of a shot after a miss is called) or electronic score keepers, so it keeps everyone on the same level. Unlike say in football where the Premier League has access to goal line technology while the local amateur football teams don’t.
idk why i'm watching this but i know this guy was in a zone. Even the female referee was glad for him and his opponent too. This is like a no hit no run game in bb
Unfortunately thats the way the game has been going for quite some years now ,super fine cloths and heated tables .Most decent club players would struggle on these match tables ,the pro game is almost a different sport now .Hard to explain unless you've played on one .
@@mikebest634 yes i have in serious competition eight times , got thrashed in seven of them , would be alright if they went back to the bce westbury table in the 80's with all the same specs , too much of a disconnect now to take the game seriously .

Loving game
As an American I adore this game. I follow it as much as the most loyal Brit in ol' Blighty.
One thing we should learn in the West is not to approach everything for its utility value. Games can be games for their own sake and nothing else.

Hendry is the best player of all time!
Best positional and simple looking 147, that's accuracy. Congrats 👏
Last shot from the last red to the black again was just P E R F E C T !
Best player (and best break), best referee (cute as always), best audience (calm and no shouts). :)

I can't believe he shoots right handed but uses his left eye to line up.
i believe being right or left handed has nothing to do with which one of your eyes is dominant
i think he uses both eyes not one. i use both, some players use left of right, but selby is on the middle
it's about the center of your vision, rather than your dominant eye or dominant hand.
Sorta like how some people are right handed but prefer to kick a football with their left foot
