These cars are expensive to maintain and keep in good condition. Terrific cars. Nothing drives like a BMW but it doesn't come cheap. Most BMWs are not unreliable. People peddle the same stereotypes about them all the time, that they break down. They generally don't, but maintenance is costly. Make sure you have the budget for upkeep. BMWs seem to go through tires more quickly as well so you are going to be putting new rubber on your car pretty regularly.

But, if you are looking for a pure performance car, and not a daily driver, then the M lite cars which the B58 mostly comes in, are not going to be the last word in chassis dynamics. cool videos. my used bmw is not nearly as young as these, but it's my favorite model hands down: 2008 650i convertible. it has a clean CarFax report and routine maintenance records, no accidents, was garage kept, and is basically immaculate. it was CPO also in 2011 by the previous owner who bought it from a dealership and only drove it 3500 miles a year in New Hampshire where it's warm enough that many months of the year to drive top down. I'm curious to know your opinion of this vehicle as it feels great and has really impressed me overall. anything I should look out for? can you recommend a good resource? do you have any videos on this model? thanks!
No its a way to be a smart buyer. BMW has the most loyal of buyers despite the costs. They far exceed Lexus in sales in everything but certain SUV models. Furthermore the GS is being discontinued by Lexus despite the reliability whereas you can buy 4 different versions of the BMW 5 series. Lastly BMW is a luxury performance car brand. It’s not Honda! It’s designed to be driven to the track and then to work on Monday so yes its going to require higher tolerances which is more expensive than a Honda Accord.
I disagree, got myself an E92 320i and it has so far saved me money in the following ways - it is better on fuel than my previous Toyota corolla 1.6, my overall consumption is lower 11.7 to 12.7 - insurance is cheaper, no I am not kidding - I speed less and such not getting traffic fines, ironic because I would speed more in the Toyota just to get over and done with the trip, with BMW I ENJOY THE RIDE, on the highway i put cruise control on and relax - no need for me to guess when I should change something or when there is a fault cause the car tells me, Toyota had none of that my next car is the F80 M3, I don't know about the states but here I live BMWs are WELL KEPT and maintained by their owners, everyone is aware the car is expensive and they treat it accordingly. I cannot be bothered to buy a small/cheap vehicle new, they are cheap to buy but parts are just as expensive.. may as well get a used BMW which will look 5x better, drive 10x better and have all the features... EDIT: My car has the M sport pack so it has all the good stuff
David That’s anecdotal evidence not statistical. This is why there are sites that measure the costs of brands and models by looking at thousands of models not one persons experience. I have never heard of a modern BMW owner getting less fines for speeding and aggressive driving compared with a Toyota. BMWs cost more to maintain by every scientific measure. It’s a great car but let’s not act like it’s not more costly.
@@miketheman4341 A lot of those "stats" are for the American market, which in my view regarding vehicles, is not a very knowledgeable market...when i am speaking about it being cheaper I am speaking relative to the market I am in.. Sorry but I don’t see the point of the 540! The M550 is the perfect compromise and is not the full on M5 but is also a great bargain especially in the 2018/2019 which is the 456HP. It’s the lesser engine compared to the 523hp in the 2020 on so its a huge bargain. This means that you are using the third most powerful 5 series of the cars offered in the new model.
That’s true Steve and personally I would drive the M5 but for a car with more reliability the 6 banger is a better choice for many people with a blend of performance and maintenance costs. ExoticCar PlayPlace True but I would argue that the 2019 on has addressed a lot of this. Secondly BMW is always about a compromise. The 6 popper is too small for a car this size but that is a matter of taste. My point is that from the standpoint of bargain the M550 with the 456 hp engine is a great bargain after the 523 was introduced. It’s faster than the previous M5 yet it can be had as a CPO car with less than 20000 miles for about 50k. These are 85k new cars that were new less than 2 years ago and cost less than a new 3 series. Why is bottom part of the bumper on that M240i above the exhausts and diffuser white? Doesn't sit well for me. It should be black or carbon fibre, white looks cack, someone has sprayed that white. I couldn't even watch this whole video due to the misinformation. You are quoting prices for M340i's going back to 2017, but the M340i didn't come out until 2019. Also you are comparing its front bumper to the 330i next to it, indicating the it had a nicer bumper than the "4 banger" next to it. FYI the "4 banger" can also be had with the optional M package which has essentially the same bumper. Please do some more research before "educating" your viewers
No BMW M cars are no good here in Australia top highway speed here is 100ks per hour. Normal driving speed is 60ks per hour. But hear Australia is buying these cars only for profit. A 320i e90 new can cost up to 90k 2006 model new. If you would buy this car 4 years ago as used it would cost 20k. But problems arise due to the age of the car. WEAR and TEAR on these cars are a huge expense , they are not made for the harsh Australian heat.
Idk about in Canada, but in the US used car prices are up 10%+ across the board. Total sellers market. Very annoying as a buyer. Been actively looking for a perfectly optioned M4 for months now but refuse to pay the ridiculous premium. Ever since the new gen M3/4 photos got leaked used F80/82 prices have risen even further and hardly any current owners are listing their cars now as well presumably due to the terrible new grille design. There is about a 15-20% premium compared to 6mo ago before China sent the plague over. Crazy

@@Brazillianboi69 It's only fifty thousand dollars, it's just taking out a loan.
What do you think about a 2011 535i
You say in the viseo you would buy a 2 year old 5 series with an additional cpo
My question is the car is either a CPO or its not so what do you mean with an additional CPO, you cant just add a cpo, it's already attributed to the car or am I just not understanding the cpo concept
Why is bottom part of the bumper on that M240i above the exhausts and diffuser white? Doesn't sit well for me. It should be black or carbon fibre, white looks cack, someone has sprayed that white.
I'm an M235i owner in the UK, they're a lot cheaper here, I picked my 2015 plate up last year for £17,500 only 33,000 miles on clock and one owner.
True I believe we pay a bunch here for this car
I'm Trying to get my paws on that super depreciation 2016 750i. I'll regret it later but I want it anyway
Your wallet will deeply regret it
DAMN!! The truth hurt
The X5M is a good one too
I have a 2005 330i M Sport with 312k on it. Take care of them and they last.
What model and miles will be great for a 6500 budget
2014 civic
Im not an expert...my father is
Owned a dealership and 2 auto shops....
A Honda or Toyota best 6500 price.
Always buy certified used on all cars....never buy private sale...or " AS IS....
Bmw expensive parts
Ive owned all of the above i mention.
If you have a great job
Lease a bmw
Dont own!
You will be blessed with what you want!
@@MjF809 Appreciate it man. Just out of consideration if you was to buy a used BMW what would me the most amount of mileage that could be consider good/amazing.
What about SUVs that's what I'm looking for thanks
@ExoticCar PlayPlace
I need your help can’t decide which one to buy!
Which one is better in terms of engines and Automatic/ Automated Manual Transmissions, performance, reliability, resale value, Style, Head turner, not to many repairs and maintenance.
Both Hard top Convertibles and Automatic/ Automated Manual
2008-2013 BMW M3
or
2009-2013 BMW Z4 sDrive30i or sDrive35i or sDrive35is?
I gotta question how many of these cars you actually owned and driven... seems you just talk about cars you never owned
I have owned, driven, or reviewed pretty much all of these cars.
@@ECPP reviewed i believe. Owned thats a lot of tax money down the drain. Great reliable machines im bmw all the way but i prefer big engines.
Yeah. 27k for an M340? Not today! The used market is booming. Can barely find a non m-sport 340i at that price.
i think i'll stick to my 2004 325i with 48k miles since i bought it new lol
Nice cars and work horses
Are the BMW 135i 2010 reliable ?
+1
Still, they are expensive as hell.
I suppose in USA/Canada they don't even sell 2.0d BMWs?
I couldn't even watch this whole video due to the misinformation. You are quoting prices for M340i's going back to 2017, but the M340i didn't come out until 2019. Also you are comparing its front bumper to the 330i next to it, indicating the it had a nicer bumper than the "4 banger" next to it. FYI the "4 banger" can also be had with the optional M package which has essentially the same bumper. Please do some more research before "educating" your viewers
He was talking about an f30 340i equipped with the b58 engine, He mentioned it is the outgoing body.
I Currently own the worst BMW in history N54 535i I’m only 20 years old I plan to get a m4 by the time I’m 22
This information does not apply much in Australia, especially in regards to the price. just too expensive in Australia.
Thanks a lot for sharing. Cheers
How about the 2018 750i x drive any suggestions or advice.?
Thank you great content as always :)
Can you make this same video in 2024? Same list applies ??
Yes
Hi, you live you Edmonton Alberta right. How come all you only talk about US prices?
Yes he's from edmonton
@@didafm so how come he uses US prices when he talks about the vehicles?
BMW is a good car
cheers
Are 4 série 258hp and 6 séries 258hp good deal ?
I recommend bolt on mods... Try to get at least 300hp
GLG Unleashed or is it more reliable to juste take the v8 333hp on the 6 séries ?
Title should be 5 BMW that will drain ur 🏦 account
Yes
I better stick to the old adage "old is still gold" for now!
For sure if you are fortunate enough to have an older BMW
Save money when you buy it used ? But you ll pay more for the repairs? lol 😂
That is usually the case.
Replace the word save with cost...... :) :)
If you buy a 3 year old bmw you will only have one year left before the car disintegrate
Why do you talk about bmws so
Much but hate them?
M240i is great but never come to my country
Where do you live?
Indonesia... So I still stick to my f30 until that 2 series landed
let be honest when you wnat to have fun and got the money realy the reliable is important?
Somewhat yes.
ExoticCar PlayPlace people who buy lambo( isn’t a reliable. Car is a big money pit) or a boring toyota? That my point
What about 528??😵💫
New bronco starts @ 28k ha😂🤣😝lol
Saw a bronco sport and it just looks like a taller Jeep renegade
What can I get for 19k
cost effective BMW is an oxymoron.
Lol
Idk about in Canada, but in the US used car prices are up 10%+ across the board. Total sellers market. Very annoying as a buyer. Been actively looking for a perfectly optioned M4 for months now but refuse to pay the ridiculous premium. Ever since the new gen M3/4 photos got leaked used F80/82 prices have risen even further and hardly any current owners are listing their cars now as well presumably due to the terrible new grille design. There is about a 15-20% premium compared to 6mo ago before China sent the plague over. Crazy
I hope that the market hates the awful new giant grill & designs as much as I do.
This is why I will never let go off my 2015 f80, 32km and drive like new..
Best cars to buy is Toyota
Reliable
BMW used to be so handsome, now most are awkward or ugly.
I hate turbo charged 4 bangers. I got a better car them BMW, 2009 Mercedes C class/ w204/ C230 2009 Manual transmission with no F....turbo bullshit. Besides BMW is not in F1. LOL
Thanks
If i have 40-60k $ i start new life :-D :-D
Way toooo !!! expensive !!!! BMW = Buy More. Warranty
No thanks I'm sticking with my Lexus - Reliable and very little maintenance.
Not what you was saying 3 years ago
Dude, they aren't reliable. Stick to Lexus.
Come on if you were a dealership you would be pushing CPO or new cars . If your doing a video then do it to share information . Rather than whatever your trying to sell
Thanks
I don’t know what to get I have a limit of around 20 grand. I want to get BMW that’s a kind of new but not to expensive. I also don’t want to get a slow Beamer💀 can you help me I’ve been looking at the 5 series 535i but idk if that’s a good choice for my price range.
Just stay away from the n54( twin turbo lump)
400bhp 500bhp blah blah blah what’s the point 70 mph max speed limit,I’m waiting until cars fly until I upgrade my e36 318i .😉
Too bad they all leak oil.
Bmw saving money 🤔 really?
You aré very handsome
gay
I would never buy a BMW (or any German car) let alone a used one, hard lessons I had to learn, endless money pits, unnecessary technology, high maintenance due to all of the computers and sensors on board, a lot of plastic around the engine, leaks every 20k miles, ticking time bomb!
What luxury car would you buy?
Junk
thanks
How the f is m4 affordable? Am i that broke🫣
