Thought this game was gonna be really dope but it's not that great. You can fight with characters from the Naruto, Dragon Ball or One Piece series. I found Goku to be terribly overpowered (maybe thats the point?). I chose to play the game three times just so I could show the main guy from each of their respective show (Naruto, Goku, Luffy).
At the end of the "story" mode, there's a slot machine. You can win new characters on here which require to be defeated at the end of the story (instead of Cell) in order to be unlocked. You have to unlock Char B before getting Char C. I believe the final unlockable is Buu.
Anyway, yeah, some of the missions have an objective which I could never read since the game is in Japanese. Other than that it's playable, as the objectives are not necessary (they only provide bonus coins for slot machine)

At least there's a mod for this game.

I used to play this game when I was little in my play 2 and I think it is very good because it left me good memories :)
Right now is the perfect time to bring this game back

for me the best battle game is Power Stone 2 from Dreamcast
the only pain in the ass about this game its the way to unlock the characters

Both Dragon Ball and One Piece Games by Bandai and Naruto Games are owned by Takara Tomy I mean Bandai and Takara Tomy are working together for the Anime party crossover battle game and I played Battle Stadium D.O.N Since I was a kid.
However, as years have passed Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto Games are owned by Bandai during the present day. I missed this game.
The smash brothers game mechanics is the best part of this game ! Wish I had it

Luffy is stupidly busted in this game. All you need is to catch multiple opponents in his X attack and you can dominate everyone on a normal map.
