There was no North German empire. Reichtangle is an absurd term that is not real. The claim of alleged German occupation of Berlin is absurd. However the map is actually quite useful because it shows what a dwarf Prussia really was and it is therefore absurd to call this dwarf a great power. Even when this dwarf then expanded a little at the expense of Denmark and the other small German states from the middle of the 19th century, it was still a dwarf compared to the great powers that ruled huge territories as real great powers. Although that was a short period of small expansion, because after that Prussia ceased to be an independent state. But despite the fact that Prussia was a dwarf, Prussia is wrongly called a great power. One only have to compare the territory of the dwarf Prussia with the real great powers of that time to see that a dwarf like Prussia was definitely not a great power. One don't have to search for a great power with a magnifying glass on the world map, because one had to do that with Prussia which makes it clear that this was not a great power. A great power survives by its own strength and not by luck, because Prussia only survived the Seven Years' War by luck because the Russian Empire spared Prussia. It was anyway megalomania by the Prussian King Frederick II to dare this war against much stronger enemies. Not only did Prussia lose decisive battles in this war that led to defeat, but also led to the defeat that Prussia could not afford such a long war. Prussia could only afford the war because of the enormous financial support of Great Britain. That the British no longer wanted to pay in 1761, was an additional blow that Prussia could not take. This is one of the key points that makes a great power, that a great power can afford long wars. In his enemy-encircled camp of Bunzelwitz and without financial means Prussian king Frederick II even tried desperately for an alliance with the Ottoman Empire. An absurd attempt from despair! The fact that Prussia was not destroyed in the Seven Years' War because of the grace of the Russian Empire is called "the Miracle of the House of Brandenburg". The Miracle of the House of Brandenburg refers to the fact that Prussia survived through the death of the winner of the war Tsarina Elizabeth of Russia. Prussia's luck was the death of Prussia's enemy Tsarina Elizabeth. Emperor of Russia then became Peter III who was well-disposed towards Prussia. He swiftly reversed Elizabeth's war policy and negotiated peace with Prussia, with an armistice and a treaty of peace and friendship. Peter's decision angered some in the Russian military, and he was overthrown and killed. So Prussia survived only because of the grace of the Russian empire. A great power does not survive through the mercy of its enemies so by luck, but through own strength. So it's clear that Prussia was not a great power. Also a great power cannot be degrade to a puppet state like that happened with Prussia at the beginning of the 19th century by the victory of the great power France over Prussia. Without the victory of the real great powers Great Britain and Russia over the great power France, Prussia would have remained a puppet state of the French. Prussia alone was too weak to defeat France. Prussia did not survive by own strength! So it's clear that Prussia was not a great power. Since Prussia was not a great power, Prussia dared most wars only in an alliance. So Prussia also only dared the war against France in 1870 in alliance with the other German small states because Prussia was too weak to wage war alone this war. This war against France in 1870/1 is incorrectly called "Franco-Prussian War" in English-speaking countries. But the Germans correctly call this war Farnco-German War because various German small states including Prussia were involved in this and not only Prussia alone. In fact, Prussia together with the North German Confederation and with other German small states outside of this Confederation fought against France in this war. Also this Confederation provided the majority of the troops in this war against France on the German side and not Prussia. So it's clear that Prussia was not a great power that alone dared a war against the great power France. Unfortunately, the Poles, Russians and French did not take the opportunity to finally defeat and destroy Prussia. Because it would have been better for Europe if the Poles, Russians or French had finally crushed Prussia when they had the chance to do that. Prussia's only remarkable achievement was to force the other German small states into a union. Prussia was able to do this because Prussia was the strongest German small states of the various small German states. This union together with the German small states outside this union was strong enough to defeat the French in 1871. The result of this victory was the establishment of a united Germany. The consequences of of this unification to the German state were catastrophic for Europe because the consequence of this state establishment were 2 world wars and the possibility for this nation to commit various genocides. The founding of this state in 1871 was a terrible catastrophe for Europe, and without Prussia, the founding of this state in 1871 would not have happened. It is a historical fact that these two world wars would not have happened with a total of 70 million deaths for Europe if the German small states had not succeeded in founding the united German state. This nation would not have mutated into a Nazi nation either! If Prussia had not existed and thus also no unified Germany, then there would not have been also almost 50 years of communist oppression in half of Europe. The communist victory in the fallen Russian Empire was the result of the First World War caused by Germany and Austria so the communist rule over the areas of the fallen Russian Empire would never have existed without Germany like the later successes of the communists after the 2nd World War through the communists could occupy half of Europe and force the nations there to embrace communism. So NO world wars, NO genocides, NO immeasurable destruction and NO strong communism. This multiple NO would be the result of the destruction or considerable weakening of Prussia. Because Prussia made this German state possible in the first place. That was actually the only relevant achievement by Prussia! Unfortunately, when the Poles had the opportunity to do so, they did not destroy Prussia! Too bad for Europe! Others also had the opportunity to destroy Prussia or to weaken it decisively. The French and the Russians. Unfortunately they didn't use the opportunity to destroy Prussia either.
The Black-White-Red Flag was actually Created after the Black-Red-Gold Flag for Example the Orgins of the Current German Flag was in 1815 while the Black-White-Red was Created in 1867.
Which is why the Fed Rep of Germany picked the 3rd stanza "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" as an anthem, Not the first one. But even this first stanza is misunderstood. It's not a claim to superiority but a call to unite. At the time "das Lied der Deutschen" was composed, Germany was only an ethnic term; politically, there were over 30 kingdoms, duchies, fiefdoms and free cities, often fighting each other in changing alliance. That's why the song claimed that Germany could match anyone "wenn es stets zum Schutz und Trutze brüderlich zusammenhält" (=if it sticks together Like brothers for defence, roughly). Again, it's not the official anthem, and it's quite easy to get it wrong...

There was no North German empire. Reichtangle is an absurd term that is not real. The claim of alleged German occupation of Berlin is absurd. However the map is actually quite useful because it shows what a dwarf Prussia really was and it is therefore absurd to call this dwarf a great power. Even when this dwarf then expanded a little at the expense of Denmark and the other small German states from the middle of the 19th century, it was still a dwarf compared to the great powers that ruled huge territories as real great powers. One only have to compare the territory of the dwarf Prussia with the real great powers of that time to see that a dwarf like Prussia was definitely not a great power. A great power survives by its own strength and not by luck, because Prussia only survived the Seven Years' War by luck because the Russian Empire spared Prussia. It was anyway megalomania by the Prussian King Frederick II to dare this war against much stronger enemies. Not only did Prussia lose decisive battles in this war that led to defeat, but also led to the defeat that Prussia could not afford such a long war. Prussia could only afford the war because of the enormous financial support of Great Britain. That the British no longer wanted to pay in 1761, was an additional blow that Prussia could not take. This is one of the key points that makes a great power, that a great power can afford long wars. In his enemy-encircled

Also a great power cannot be degrade to a puppet state like that happened with Prussia at the beginning of the 19th century by the victory of the great power France over Prussia. Without the victory of the real great powers Great Britain and Russia over the great power France, Prussia would have remained a puppet state of the French. Prussia alone was too weak to defeat France. Prussia did not survive by own strength! So it's clear that Prussia was not a great power.
Since Prussia was not a great power, Prussia dared most wars only in an alliance. So Prussia also only dared the war against France in 1870 in alliance with the other German small states because Prussia was too weak to wage war alone this war. This war against France in 1870/1 is incorrectly called "Franco-Prussian War" in English-speaking countries. But the Germans correctly call this war Farnco-German War because various German small states including Prussia were involved in this and not only Prussia alone. In fact, Prussia together with the North German Confederation and with other German small states outside of this Confederation fought against France in this war. Also this Confederation provided the majority of the troops in this war against France on the German side and not Prussia. So it's clear that Prussia was not a great power that alone dared a war against the great power France.
Unfortunately, the Poles, Russians and French did not take the opportunity to finally defeat and destroy Prussia. Because it would have been better for Europe if the Poles, Russians or French had finally crushed Prussia when they had the chance to do that. Prussia's only remarkable achievement was to force the other German small states into a union. Prussia was able to do this because Prussia was the strongest German small states of the various small German states. This union together with the German small states outside this union was strong enough to defeat the French in 1871. The result of this victory was the establishment of a united Germany. The consequences of of this unification to the German state were catastrophic for Europe because the consequence of this state establishment were 2 world wars and the possibility for this nation to commit various genocides. The founding of this state in 1871 was a terrible catastrophe for Europe, and without Prussia, the founding of this state in 1871 would not have happened. It is a historical fact that these two world wars would not have happened with a total of 70 million deaths for Europe if the German small states had not succeeded in founding the united German state. This nation would not have mutated into a Nazi nation either! If Prussia had not existed and thus also no unified Germany, then there would not have been also almost 50 years of communist oppression in half of Europe. The communist victory in the fallen Russian Empire was the result of the First World War caused by Germany and Austria so the communist rule over the areas of the fallen Russian Empire would never have existed without Germany like the later successes of the communists after the 2nd World War through the communists could occupy half of Europe and force the nations there to embrace communism. So NO world wars, NO genocides, NO immeasurable destruction and NO strong communism. This multiple NO would be the result of the destruction or considerable weakening of Prussia. Because Prussia made this German state possible in the first place. That was actually the only relevant achievement by Prussia! Unfortunately, when the Poles had the opportunity to do so, they did not destroy Prussia! Too bad for Europe! Others also had the opportunity to destroy Prussia or to weaken it decisively. The French and the Russians. Unfortunately they didn't use the opportunity to destroy Prussia either.
