Well Baz another enjoyable watch and it seems you where pleased with your catch considering the time of year it is. When your business is weather dependent then it just becomes more burdensome at times, having to replace broken furniture, whither it be farming, fishing, vegetable growing etc. Over the years I've been involved in all 3 so i understand your concerns when harsh weather systems come in. Be encouraged by the comments you get Barry as what your doing is highlighting the difficulties of independent inshore fishermen and hopefully It'll let us ordinary folk appreciate what you do. Jeff is doing a great job in editing the vlogs and the information you add is interesting. Those sunrises are worth getting up for alone i just hope you find it as therapudic as i do when i get up and go into my vegetable plot or go beachcasting on our beaches here in Northern Ireland. Anyway take care Skipper and stay safe 👍
Wow, Peter. Thank you so much for your kind comment. This is wonderful. Sometimes, I do forget that some folks don't get as lucky as I do to see such beauty in the world. It's only because I get to experience it mist days 😍😁👌 I'm so glad these vlogs are doing what Jeff and I wanted them to do, which is to show the kind folks at home that stresses and strains of inshore fishing.😁👌 ( mission accomplished 💪😁👌🤣🤣) Good luck with the vegetables and the beach casting 💪😁👌 Have a wonderful day. All the very best.
Hi Terry. Thank you so much, bud. You can tell I'm getting back to my old self in this vlog😍😁👌 it was a long time coming through, over 6 weeks with that stinking flu.🙄🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hope you have a wonderful day. All the very best.😁
Thank you so much, Richard. We are so glad you enjoy the vlogs. Yeah, it took nearly 6 weeks to shift properly. Back to full health now, though.💪😁👌 Have a wonderful day. All the best 😁
Hi John. I hope you are keeping well, sir. Thank you so much for your kindness. We are so glad you enjoyed this week's vlog 😍😁👌 Have a wonderful day. All the best.😁
Hi John Oh yes, it took over 6 weeks to get rid of that flu bug I had. I'm glad to say this was filmed weeks ago, and I'm back to 100%💪😁👌 Catching good numbers of lobster is always good for a lobstermans soul.😍😁👌🤣🤣🤣 Have a wonderful day. All the best.😁
Hi Trevor. I hope you are keeping well, buddy. Yeah, the sign of things to come, bud, I'm afraid. It's happening country wide.😞 All this history, knowledge lost for every, and all thanks to greedy politicians 🙄🙈 It will be a marina before long bud,you watch.😞
Great vlogs as usual Barry, super weather and some Lobsters. Not a bad day for January. Hope you throw that health problem soon, it can take the edge of even the best day. Getting back into things myself. Stay lucky.
Hi Dave. Thank you so much for your kind comment. Luckily, I'm back to full health bud,as this vlog was filmed weeks ago 😁👌 The weather and catches are unbelievable. We have been so lucky this winter....but!... the fishermen of old always said if you get a good winter, it always follows through with a bad summer🙄🙈😬😬😬 so here's to the year ahead 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Glad your on the mend.💪😁👌 All the very best.😁
Another excellent Vlog Baz. Its nice you got a cousin that give you bait cause it ain't cheap to buy. Its also nice to see all those berry hens a small lobsters. Also what size limit is it for the velvet crabs and do they get a fair price for each of them. Thank again its always entertaining to watch your videos. Take care.
Hi Colin. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. We are so glad you enjoyed this week's vlog. 🥰😁👌 TBH I can't remember the sizing for the velvets as they are a secondary income not as important as the lobbies, that might have to do with the price I get for them. This week £2 per kilo. Hope you have a wonderful day. All the best.😁
Hi Johno. Yeah, I chased those gremlins off the boat with a burning torch🤣🤣😁👌 I also did a wee prayer to the lobster gods and gave our good luck charms a good old " good luck " rub. All in all, I this that worked out fine.😁👌🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hope you have a wonderful day, buddy. All the best.🏴😍😁👌🤣🤣🤣
Sorry you've not been well and had, bother with the Lynsey B, that sunrise and reflections on the water was amazing., is it just the time of year the lobsters are so small, or is it just all the big ones have been caught already. I thought they maybe just had eggs at a certain time of year, but they seem to have eggs all year round, that's good Neil's still giving you bait, hope you feel better soon, take care Barry, all the best
Hi Anne. This vlog was filmed weeks ago. Luckily, I'm back at 100% 💪😁👌🤣🤣🤣🤣 The lobsters used to seasonal, but as years have rolled on, we are catching more and more, berried, soft, and small all year long now. Is it due to rising water temps or lack of predators 🤷♂️ who knows, but they are definitely on the increase. As for the bigger lobsters, they'll come when the time is right.🦞😁👌 Have a wonderful day. All the best.😉👍
They have just shed their skin and the new one is hardening off, soft lobster doesn’t transport well, they are still lovely if eaten locally though if a bit more mushy.
Hi Harry. Thank you, we are glad you enjoyed the vlog. I was at a seminar with Hans unkle just the other week. I actually thought he was brave as hell, not just on the financial burden but dealing with our incompetent MCA...I mean the poor fella had a heart attack with the strain of the crap that they threw at him.😞 I have total respect for what the man has achieved, and I wish him well trying to show folks that this could be the future of inshore fishing. 😁👌 All the best.😁
@onemanandhisboat he certainly is a brave man and someone has to be 1st I guess, I've watched all his videos and read everything I can on him and his boat , I've been thinking about putting a electric motor in my Plymouth pilot 16 which I will use for angling, but one day I would like to do the same to a commercial boat ,I can't help but think a quiet boat would be able to sneak up on the bass better than a desiel, one day I'll get round to it. Hope you have a good week fishing
Hi Danny. It's lovely to see some lobbies come over the rail.🦞🦞🦞 and to get this beautiful weather to go with it.😍😁👌 This was filmed weeks ago, Danny Bud. Baz is back to 100% 😍😁👌 Have a wonderful day, buddy. All the very best.😁
Barry, just a wee question, the undersized lobsters you very quickly return, some of them may be undersized but do they carry eggs or not. Just thinking it’s content for the channel if the carry eggs or not. Have a great season for 2025.
Hi Angus. Thank you so much for your comment and question. Not all that get thrown over board are berries. They are a mixture of male, female, small soft lobster that I sort as I pull each one from the creel. At this time of year, their are lots of small lobsters on the ground, fighting for food so they can grow for the up and coming season. When a lobster casts it's shell they can grow anywhere from 1.5 cm to 2 cm per season, which is a good growth rate for our waters.😁👌 I'll try and explain that more in up and coming vlogs, but it may be a while yet, as we are ahead of ourselves already. This vlog was filmed weeks ago.🙈😬🤣🤣🤣🤣 I hope that answers your question. Have a wonderful day. All the best.😁
Baz stop wiping that lens, your worse than my mother who keeps licking her handkerchief to wash my face...and I'm 74! A good old remedy for the lurgy - take half a pint of Iron Bru mixed with half a pint of Haig whisky, slang var. Greetings to Jeff as well nice bit of moody music at the start there leaving port.
🤣🤣🤣 My mum does the same pal🙈🤣🤣🤣 it must be a mother thing.🤣🤣🤣🙈 Glad you enjoyed this week's vlog. I'll work on that flu remedy that you suggested 🥃😁👌🤣🤣🤣🤣 Have a wonderful day. All the best 😁
Hi Bill. It doesn't help that we have a power station right on our doorstep. Apparently, east of the station, plenty of brown crab etc where the waters deeper and colder.🤔🤷♂️😁👌 But global warming is in there too, and the fact of not many predators for the wee beasties.🦞😁👌🤣🤣🤣🤣 All the best, bud.👍

They have just shed their skin and the new one is hardening off, soft lobster doesn’t transport well, they are still lovely if eaten locally though if a bit more mushy.
