The flipping crossbow shots at 5:40 still have to the coolest move implement I've ever seen. Gael will always be my favorite Soulsborne boss.

I never realized how similar to Guts Gael's move set is. I knew there were lots of Berserk references in DS but this was really striking. Not just the repeating crossbow and the sword, but the way Gael turns in the air while swinging his sword, and even how his cape kinda has that ethereal quality.

The frayed blade is very, very close to be my fav katana. If it had additionally a parry skill I would only play that among the other katanas. I love how you did the "combo" where you did the R2 weaponart and after that you hit the R1 weapon art. I dont know why, but it looked dope.
Ah yes, gael. I remember casually doing him on ng+4 with only 27 vigor and woah that was hard. I have a feeling, that quick weapons tend to perform better against him. But yeah. He is so tanky and on Ng+4 (in your case NG+6) he is even tankier. Thats so hard man

I used to play DS3 for thousands of hours and the frayed katana was my favorite. And I used light weight comp too. Thank you for reminding me such a wonderful memory of my game life ;-)

Gaels such a tragic character, he only wanted the dark soul to help his lady make a new world, but when he consumed it, it consumed him and made him into a beast. But at least in the end he was able to fulfill his duty.
He always knew his fate, it was the only way. A slave to the end, but for a good cause.

best katana is bloodlust, so you can commit seppuku if necessary but also draw much blood from foes.
I have the frayed katana, nd gaels , gaels is bigger broken version of executioners great sword , hes easy boss , lost of health , i pair it with the frayed , but same hand , then sheild of want in another, its a dope sword , if you stun lock a player , depending stamina, you can keep mashing the multi hit , its mean

This Katana will never be surpassed as the coolest in the entire series. The weapon art is beautiful and not even Elden Ring DLC managed to produce a cooler katana
They lowkey recreated it with the sword of night but I still prefer this because of the purple effects

after the elden ring DLC Gael looks slow as molasses
Because bosses back then were naturally difficult whereas bosses in the Elden Ring DLC are overtuned AF to be as artificially difficult as possible.
@@JoeyCentralEr also gives you the tools to overcome the difficulty

They should add some katana with frost effect, that could freeze enemies to place with some powerfull ice attack, and top that with some flurry/range cut, but that will never happen, because they can only copy freyed blade, and that odachi from Sekiro :D
