It's always such a joy to watch an excellent modeler doing his craft - your choices of the level of detail and colors are always so exceptional Ben! It seems that all of the best builds begin with something you said within the first 30 seconds - "why not?" - and then off in a fun direction things go.
Awesome custom bug(s)!! I LOVE those legs, will definafely have to get a few sets. The paint on the legs was spot on, cool that it matched the decals. Speaking of decals, if you don't want to gloss coat the car you can use setting solution. Tamiya and Microscale are the top two. Also, when drilling out the rivits, I personally like to use the bit sized for my tap to drill first. First off this allows me to use the dimple of the rivit head to center my bit and I drill to about the depth of my screws. Then I come back with a 3.5/4mm bit to remove the rivit head. This way I am ready to tap as soon as the body is off the chassis.
Thank you! The legs are great and very versatile as you can see Good advice on the drilling and decals. I have decal setter too so I'll have to try that next
I started watching your videos a couple of hours ago when getting back into gaslands, I watched your 2 year old videos and it's crazy how much you've improved in such a short time. definitely earned a subscriber and I'll be looking forward to seeing whatever you have next!
A great tip I got for decals years ago is to apply some Future floor polish while they are still wet. It helps stretch the decals tight against the surface, especially where there are grooves. And it hardens and protects the decal. Great channel.
@@BPCustomCreations Yeah, I also do Sci-fi Kitbashing in 1/24 1/25 scale and those arms and legs would be perfect..but not sure if they make that big of a scale.. I usually do Bionical parts forntheblegs and arms and yogurt caps for the hover part.
Really love this one man, awesome job ! Perfect choice of car and those legs are so detailed. I usually do a gloss coat before decals but its not necessary just makes things a bit easier. Fantastic work as always man.
@@BPCustomCreationsIf you don't want to use a gloss coat before decalling you can get some decal setting solution. There are quite a few brands that work great; Microscale or Tamiya, among others.
Just found ur channel!!! I really like this idea. Though i am not a wastelands builder but just a casual customizer. And I never used decals before, so I really wanted to try some, on this mashup car I’m doing.
Use soapy water with decals. Really makes it easier to slide them around to get them perfectly positioned, and they still adhere just fine once they've dried for a minute or two.
Phenomenal work Ben! You got me into flying cars and the few I’ve made are heavily influenced by your style. Now, I have to do one of these walker cars! Great concept and, as always, flawless execution.
My was was in the Navy for 20 years. Back in the mid 90's we lived in Fallon Nevada and we take car trips all over. When we would go to Carson City the route we took went by a VW Bug on two strory tall pipes like it was a spider. Its been many years since i last seen it and wonder if its still there?
@@BPCustomCreations say no more! I posted a video on my channel (no idea where the sound went). Unfortunately there are no VW beetle parts in game so I had to improvise. Also I couldn’t find a snail decal so I used a fish in a top hat instead. Because, Why not? The game does have the thicker shielded legs like your creation but the mounting points were too big to fit in the wheel well besides the leg parts I used work better for the “bug” appeal imo while still maintaining its original functionality as a wheel based vehicle (if you haven’t played Crossout you’ll see what I mean when you watch) It is an art build so I don’t recommend playing it but if you’re a masochist, I did upload the blueprint to the Xbox Crossout Exhibition so you are anyone can try it out, and I know it’s Xbox and not pc but I don’t want a baked potato pc. It just barely runs Minecraft at 57 fps and im happy with that. Also I made a post on Reddit mentioning your channel and a link to your vid here. Hopefully you will get more viewers. Anyway this comment is long enough. I will post a link to my build in a second comment just in case your video doesn’t like the link and erases the entire essay here. Edit: I forgot to mention I gave our little friend a littler grenade chucking friend of its own.
I remember asking someone if they could make a video of customizing a beetle with actual beetle legs or robitick ones. Don't remember which channel it was!
You should built a cyber punk flying Deora 2 car. I’m going to create a street racing theme Cybertruck! And I think you have the skills to build an Opel GT. If you don’t know what that car is, look it up online.
Everything on this build was done with super glue. I reinforced some of the connection by sprinkling baking soda on the wet glue to add surface area and instantly cure it.

You're too kind! I always feel like I'm just messing around with no particular direction 😅
These are amazing! I do enjoy a good die-cast modification and these combine two of my favorite things; Robot legs and Volkswagens! Excellently done!
😂 That's a very specific combination of things!
@@BPCustomCreations Which is why I'm ecstatic that you went out of your way to make a video about them!
Great work! Still working up the nerve to work with die cast models!
Do it! It's been so long since I started but I do remember it was intimidating to drill open and cut up cars.
you had me at custom Beetles. awesome job my friend
Thank you!
This is the cute version of ED-209 from RoboCop. Very, very cool build!
Bebe-209 😂

SOOOO KOOOOOLLLLLLL .
Great work . Great legs , WOW WOW .

How can I get 8 of these legs , thanks . Mike Espo.

No , I don’t.

I would love to see you do something similar to this but with a VW bus
It probably wouldn't be much different from these. I just made some new legs of my own and a build that's on my Instagram but no video for it here
