Ok....excuse me....but how the hell did anyone EVER think that Wang Yibo as Lan Wangji was ugly?! 🤔 I am shocked and mystified by this. I thought he was stunningly gorgeous from the first time he appeared. Like my jaw literally dropped the first time they showed him onscreen. 😲😍 You just made me like and appreciate Wang Yibo a lot more. 😊 I respect his resilience, humility, and effort. What a neat person!
While I would never call him ugly, I was not initially excited to watch him as Lan Wangji. Most pictures I had previously seen of Wang Yibo he has his 'resting b*tch face' on (totally not knocking RBF...my face automatically does that as well). After looking at him for the entirety of The Untamed, I was entranced by his face and the sheer beauty in front of my eyes...he is STUNNING. I think the same must have happened for a lot of people.

I really started to love Wang Yibo after The Untamed. I do not pay attention to anybody within the China entertainment industry. However after watching some behind the scenes videos, I realized that WYB was a dance for Uniq, I was surprised. I am older and I honestly can say I wouldn’t be able to with stand everything that he went through. Especially at such a young age leaving home to train to become an idol. Also I can see how much hardwork he is putting into all his work. I admire the fact that while he probably knew he isn’t talkative, but he still decided to challenge himself to be on a talk show.
Yea, he has so many admirable qualities. I didn't even mention in this video how he's a professional motorcyclist! For the things that he's passionate about, he puts in 1000%.

I had no idea about wyb bf the untamed but while watching the untamed with my friends, everyone was amazed by the guy in white, that's what they call him from the first episode. After reading the novel all I could say was yibo is the perfect lan wangi, he murdered that role and we all know he's not ugly so i'm not even offended. I know he's not a talkative person but I love everything abt him flaws and all and I pray his career keeps moving higher, he's been tru alot at such a young age. I loved your video about dearest WangYibo. :D I just recently (like 6 months ago) discovered him because of TU and was very impressed of his acting. How could someone act a character that has nearly not dialogue at all and even so, as an spectator, you can practically see every single thought that go through the mind of said character? I'm not even mentioning how stunned I was to see such an attractive "asian guy" and I must say I'm a japanese culture lover from years before. He just blows my head! I can't even imagine why someone could say he is ugly, really, WHY?? Then later I found out that he was mainly a dancer and became very curious about that side of him and also discovered he was such a talented boy and what makes him more lovable of him, he is also a weird boy. XD I LOVE the weird way he behave and the politically incorrect answers he usually say when he gives a comment out loud. In Produce101 and now in Street Dance of China I'm impressed by his knowledge on the dancing world, his skills as team leader and the humility, simplicity and respect he has when he approaches contestants not as a "famous star", instead he wants to learn from them, be their friend and sincerely enjoy dance with them. I dont' think he is "perfect, innocent and pure" XD as many people tend to say, but I find him very interesting and I know he has the REAL talent to overcome his label of "idol" and show his real talents to the world to see. Nice video! I am a new fan of Yibo's after watching the Untamed this summer. I fell in love with Lan Zhan after the frist couple episodes and can't comprehend how anyone would think that he was ugly. I mean seriously? Yibo is beyond gorgeous - anyways, I am glad the few nasty people came around. In my opinion, Yibo gave a master class in subtle acting, his performance was nothing short of phenomenal. And he deserves all the praise and awards he received for his role. I didn't know he was criticized for his Day Up hosting - yes, he doesn't talk much but his presence elevates the show. From the clips I have seen, he is the one doing all the fun stuff besides dancing and singing. I don't personally care for this kind of shows but I found Yibo very charming
Yea, I think the haters took a screen shot of a few scenes from the earlier episodes of the Untamed and declared that Yibo was super ugly. Ridiculous stuff. I also became a fan of his after the Untamed, and then gained a better understanding of his journey after checking out old DDU episodes. Also, his personality in DDU is sooo different to his performance in the Street Dance of China. In SDC he's so passionate and professional! I think I like him even more now that I've seen him in SDC...

I was a fan of uniq when they had their debut and Yibo naturally became my favorite in the group the more I got to know him! I fell off a little bit from their fandom because of the lack of promotions they had, but luckily The Untamed was what sparked my love for Yibo again! I watched your 3d suggested video about some of the skills Yibo learned on DDU and, despite the fact that I am huge fan, I was impressed. Not just the dances, we all know he is an incredible dancer, but also all the other things (by the way, I loved his belly dancing)! So, yes maybe some people critcized him being hired as a host but obviously Yibo impressed everyone quickly with his talent and skills. To me it's easier to talk than to perform all these physical tasks. You are right that his contribution is his ability to dance, sing, do all that physical stuff and engage the guests. I also don't think that he had nothing else going for him for 2 years, he filmed the Love Actually series in 2017 and got lots of praise for his role. But of course, the Untamed changed everything and look at him now
watching this video made me recall a lot of flashbacks to my UNICORN days back on 2016, yibo&wenhan are actually my faves back then 😊 .. after that updates about them becomes lesser & since I'm not from china, informations are limited, that's why when produce 101 happened I'm one of those who's absolutely melting from happiness 😊💚 then followed by "the untamed " made me super greateful. I came here cause I was looking for info about his youth, how he came to Korea and became part of uniq, but everything else was super interesting and also I like how it allows me to learn more about the culture in China. The main thing I was left wondering is - was there a specific reason given to why Korean bands aren't allowed to preform in China? and/or any speculation about the reason?

I really enjoyed this video. I actually knew Yibo back in 2018 with Produce 101, but was more of a passerby with a good impression. It was his role as Lan Wangji that made me into a fan. For someone as young as him to play such a complicated role so well, I can't wait to see what other characters he can bring into life in the future. I think he has a lot of potential to become a great actor. And although he is not from an acting school, if he can continue to choose his film project wisely and learn from others while filming, I think he may become one of the rare ones to break the notion that idols can't act and/or non acting school actors can't win prestige acting awards. His best advantages is his age and the current opportunities he currently has that can open doors to expand his acting career. Because China gives very few opportunities for idols to have a stage, acting is the only way he can go to further his career in the Chinese entertainment industry. But his strength as an idol and in sports can really create a cross-border entertainer that can really expand influence to those outside of the entertainment circle. If he play his cards right, he has the potential to become a very unique person in the entertainment industry, he exceeded the threshold of a triple threat entertainer.

I had no idea about wyb bf the untamed but while watching the untamed with my friends, everyone was amazed by the guy in white, that's what they call him from the first episode. After reading the novel all I could say was yibo is the perfect lan wangi, he murdered that role and we all know he's not ugly so i'm not even offended. I know he's not a talkative person but I love everything abt him flaws and all and I pray his career keeps moving higher, he's been tru alot at such a young age. I loved your video about dearest WangYibo. :D I just recently (like 6 months ago) discovered him because of TU and was very impressed of his acting. How could someone act a character that has nearly not dialogue at all and even so, as an spectator, you can practically see every single thought that go through the mind of said character? I'm not even mentioning how stunned I was to see such an attractive "asian guy" and I must say I'm a japanese culture lover from years before. He just blows my head! I can't even imagine why someone could say he is ugly, really, WHY?? Then later I found out that he was mainly a dancer and became very curious about that side of him and also discovered he was such a talented boy and what makes him more lovable of him, he is also a weird boy. XD I LOVE the weird way he behave and the politically incorrect answers he usually say when he gives a comment out loud. In Produce101 and now in Street Dance of China I'm impressed by his knowledge on the dancing world, his skills as team leader and the humility, simplicity and respect he has when he approaches contestants not as a "famous star", instead he wants to learn from them, be their friend and sincerely enjoy dance with them. I dont' think he is "perfect, innocent and pure" XD as many people tend to say, but I find him very interesting and I know he has the REAL talent to overcome his label of "idol" and show his real talents to the world to see. I wish you could make more videos about this lovable boy! :D Please comment about Street Dance Of China, about his relationships with other artists and so on. I like your videos very much! Also, I love the contrast between his stone-faced cool guy image and the excitement that he shows when he's dancing. I'm absolutely loving him in the Street Dance of China - he's doing a better job than I could've ever hoped for. And it looks like he's really enjoying himself as well, which I'm really happy about. I had watched a lot of his dance videos before the Street Dance of China, but his battling skills in Ep 2 blew my mind!

Nice video! I am a new fan of Yibo's after watching the Untamed this summer. I fell in love with Lan Zhan after the frist couple episodes and can't comprehend how anyone would think that he was ugly. I mean seriously? Yibo is beyond gorgeous - anyways, I am glad the few nasty people came around. In my opinion, Yibo gave a master class in subtle acting, his performance was nothing short of phenomenal. And he deserves all the praise and awards he received for his role. I didn't know he was criticized for his Day Up hosting - yes, he doesn't talk much but his presence elevates the show. From the clips I have seen, he is the one doing all the fun stuff besides dancing and singing. I don't personally care for this kind of shows but I found Yibo very charming
Yea, I think the haters took a screen shot of a few scenes from the earlier episodes of the Untamed and declared that Yibo was super ugly. Ridiculous stuff. I also became a fan of his after the Untamed, and then gained a better understanding of his journey after checking out old DDU episodes. Also, his personality in DDU is sooo different to his performance in the Street Dance of China. In SDC he's so passionate and professional! I think I like him even more now that I've seen him in SDC...

I was a fan of uniq when they had their debut and Yibo naturally became my favorite in the group the more I got to know him! I fell off a little bit from their fandom because of the lack of promotions they had, but luckily The Untamed was what sparked my love for Yibo again! I watched your 3d suggested video about some of the skills Yibo learned on DDU and, despite the fact that I am huge fan, I was impressed. Not just the dances, we all know he is an incredible dancer, but also all the other things (by the way, I loved his belly dancing)! So, yes maybe some people critcized him being hired as a host but obviously Yibo impressed everyone quickly with his talent and skills. To me it's easier to talk than to perform all these physical tasks. You are right that his contribution is his ability to dance, sing, do all that physical stuff and engage the guests. I also don't think that he had nothing else going for him for 2 years, he filmed the Love Actually series in 2017 and got lots of praise for his role. But of course, the Untamed changed everything and look at him now

watching this video made me recall a lot of flashbacks to my UNICORN days back on 2016, yibo&wenhan are actually my faves back then 😊 .. after that updates about them becomes lesser & since I'm not from china, informations are limited, that's why when produce 101 happened I'm one of those who's absolutely melting from happiness 😊💚 then followed by "the untamed " made me super greateful.
Just by watching this video i finally understood some little details, like the comment he answered on DDU, i never thought he went through that before - since i only watch the show every week in english subtitles and comments are mostly in chinese, that's why as a fellow fan i really appreciate this, thanks for sharing and explaining some of ur cultures which helped international fans like me🙏💚

I already loved Wang YiBo before watching, but your video made me love him even more! I came here cause I was looking for info about his youth, how he came to Korea and became part of uniq, but everything else was super interesting and also I like how it allows me to learn more about the culture in China.
The main thing I was left wondering is - was there a specific reason given to why Korean bands aren't allowed to preform in China? and/or any speculation about the reason?
I'm glad you enjoyed the WYB video! On your last question - I don't really know for sure. The Chinese government didn't want Korea to continue making money in China through exporting their idols. Why? My guess is political reasons involving China - Korean - US relations.

I would also say that even before the Untamed, besides of being praised for his mantoring And dancing abbilities, he got the recognition and praise for his drama work too (Love actually and My strange friends - even if this last mentioned drama was aired in 2020, you can clearly see his acting qualities here. I really enjoyed this video. I actually knew Yibo back in 2018 with Produce 101, but was more of a passerby with a good impression. It was his role as Lan Wangji that made me into a fan. For someone as young as him to play such a complicated role so well, I can't wait to see what other characters he can bring into life in the future. I think he has a lot of potential to become a great actor. And although he is not from an acting school, if he can continue to choose his film project wisely and learn from others while filming, I think he may become one of the rare ones to break the notion that idols can't act and/or non acting school actors can't win prestige acting awards.
His best advantages is his age and the current opportunities he currently has that can open doors to expand his acting career. Because China gives very few opportunities for idols to have a stage, acting is the only way he can go to further his career in the Chinese entertainment industry. But his strength as an idol and in sports can really create a cross-border entertainer that can really expand influence to those outside of the entertainment circle. If he play his cards right, he has the potential to become a very unique person in the entertainment industry, he exceeded the threshold of a triple threat entertainer.
