thank you thank you and thank you. I am 13 and it took me one month to get landins down on this plane, and that's only because i was not used to a plane coming in so fast. all of you babies complaining about this plane being hard to land, it's not because of the wing, you're just not a good pilot.
@moron32 Just practice knife edges up high, and when you can keep it stable no problem, start turning a bit. To turn you give it UP elevator, and lower the throttle just a touch, so it doesn't go up a lot, then when back in the straight away, add the throttle back, and let off the elevator. Thanks for watching
I have been flying this extra 300 since it came out and have had a lot of fun with it. Looking at Ronnie's video I enjoy it every time I see it and hope to get enough practice to fly as good as him . I usually fly it on low rates and can really do some very aggressive maneuvers on high rates. Even though it is a foamy it flies like an 80" gas but it is a lot quicker lighter and about $1500. Cheaper. It would be nice to see some more videos. Thank you Ronnie keep on flying.
Old video but I'm getting my old extra 300 out of the attic to fly again. Still got the settings dialed into my Spektrum for the rudder knife edge moves and I can't wait for good weather. 👍🏻
Great flying. It looks like you've had some aerobatic or pattern flying experience. Rolls are all crisp, and stop where you want them too. I wish that this airplane was still available! We fly IMAC and planes like this are fun to play with after a day of competition! Nice job with it and the video!
William Dickey thanks, did the same with this. Used it to practice for my 100cc MX2. Bunch of videos of that one on the channel, including some aerial chases with a quad while it hovers with smoke on.
very nice work Ronin, great flying for sure. I recently bought this Parkzone Extra 300 of Ebay (used), received it yesterday by mail, when I unboxed it she looks pretty nice. I hope to have just as much fun with her as you do but sure look forward to put her through the paces, passes, ... lol
Yes very nice video!! I bought one when they first came out, and flew it a few times and sold it!! It is a great flying plane for the price!! I am thinking about picking another one up! $149.00 for a PNP is a great price.
Great flying and filming as always, these vids inspire me to rty harder, lol. My st models mx2 is reapired again, eventually I'll get my knife edges as nice as yours! Not a bad tune too, excellent stuff, keep it up!
thats some awsome flying sir, your skills are impeccable...love watching the tricks this plane pulled off...watched it again and again...lol...Buble' rocks...lol...great vid Ronin.
@Walkonthinice thanks a lot, glad you didn't listen to the hype. Make sure the battery strap barely covers the end of the lipo, and your CG will be great, and then just need some stick time, and at least 35% expo on all surfaces, to make it look very smooth.. Thanks for watching, check out some of the latest stuff, Habu onboard cam with rollovers, over other Habu, Gauii quadcopter footage of two scale helis flying around, and more to come
@tirsten1 thanks a lot, this park is called upper coquitlam river park. It's up Pipeline Road, which is by Coquitlam Center. Once you get on Pipeline, you just keep going till you pass the two rock quarry, then you'll see the chain link fence on the right and parking. If you want to bring your 300, we can get it all setup and let you do the maiden there. Park is decent size but there are trees all around, you can see from the vid
Nice flying, just got mine 2 weeks ago, got 6 flights with it so far and i just love it and I'm still a newbee at rc flying with less than 50 flights. Very touchy on the pitch but getting used to it since I've been flying mostly my pz corsair and P47 and of course now I'm totally addicted lol. I did put 2 position flaps on ail. and really helps me slow it down for landings. I know i"m still new at it and can"t recognize all the fine flying characteristics but love flying that plane.
@rcflyer40plus1 Definitely go to a Corsair before this . Great 2nd plane , some speed and you're using bigger ailerons. Plus you can put a 15 in it and go nuts for power, with a 4cell. Thanks for watching
@WEESTRAWZ thanks David. Yes the 11X4 would help the torque roll for sure. Really a aerobatic plane rather than 3D but I get it into a hover for a bit, if you pulse the throttle it will help keep it from rolling too
@thedoorsbiggestfan thanks a lot for watching. Ya the 12X6 I like a lot better It seems to be a good all around prop for lots of planes. That motor would help out with doing more 3D with this too, quick response
yeah i gave it ago on a guys i met on the field and it was pulling around 40a! I believe it's the bec as you say, i'm going to swap it for a 40a I have just read that the new 300's come with 40amp now too!!
@Lukesteele07 Thanks a lot, yes the plane can definitely do it, just start knife edging way up high and once you get more comfortable doing it, you can start circuits . I use a 12X6 APC or good wooden prop and put the 2100mah battery just far enough forward that the strap barely catches the end. Put a piece of velcro on the battery and plane to keep it from moving too.
@truckermax1 thanks a lot, love the KE with this thing, so much fun, but has to be going a good clip to keep the nose up. I fly 3D helis too. I bet if you look you can see the little deformation of the wings, caused by the paint, just the top is a little flatter, but it makes no real difference for the flight LOL Have you tried it with a 12X6 apc prop? Ya landings are easy with it, it's about learning when a plane stalls, and a glidepath very unlike a supercub lol
Wow, great flying, great vid, and looks like a very nice plane. Looking at one at the LHS here, was a bit hesitant reading all that stuff on the forums about the wings, then saw Brandon (IEATSRT) vid and now yours, and I think I am gonna give this one a try. Take care out in lotus land, I think we are getting SNOW this weekend in Edmonchuk! Keep flying
Very nice flight m8 VERY NICE!@!!!!!!5 stars!!!!Precise!@!!!!!I mthinking of buying it in order to unlock my fingers to invert fingers of 8 for my helis. Was afraid that it wouldn t be very stable as afoam but as far as i can see in other vids too i believe it flies really good!!!!!
That was weird, 45 seconds into the flight, I found myself snapping my fingers and tapping my toes..... LOL... Great Flying Ronin! Nice to see the this parkzone extra flying the way they intended it to be.
Really awesome flying Ronin! It is great to be able to trust a plane that low in knife edge when the rudder is pinned and you only control the altitude by your throttle! Love the inverted hammerheads, I like doing those as well cause they just look cool. Try doing some figure "M"s they are an old pattern move that is difficult to get straight but are very fun. Also try some inverted 45 degree knive edge passes too - that'll always attract a crowd. Cheers J
@demise002 yes, full forward is a little too much. I put the battery so the strap is just over the end of the battery. You can move it back 1/2inch from there, to make it a bit more agile for better 3D, but it will be more able to stall as well. Not tail heavy but close to the real CG You can also try a 1800pack if you have one, all the way forward. I also put a piece of velcro, just small, on the batts and plane to stop any chance of shifting in flight
I've been watching your video over the last few months and continually try some of the tricks you do and I'm now able to pull off a few.It would be great if you could call out each stunt in a future video of your Extra 300 just so all of us noobs know the names of the stunts were learning from you :) Thank's Love the clip.
I'm enjoying the su26xp micro and this would seem to have similar control, but with more power and stability (er, and size). Maybe this is next...or the Corsair, or the Hellcat or the Habu. Lol. Thanks for sharing - some really nice flying!
@CHIPPERJ67 think I had reglued it once at that point, but from pretty hard landings doing harriers. The battery should be far enough forward so that the strap barely catches the end of the battery. Put some velcro on it too, plane and battery, so it can't move.
@warderseeker I agree. I JUST got one yesterday, assembled, and flew 3 flights. Wings on normally, read the battery position bulletin, and away I went. Flew great for me. Thanks for the vids.... nice flying - I'm working up to that, but for now just one trick at a time (landing ;-)). One question... for the harriers, what's the setup? prop/CG/etc. thx.
Nice job man! great to see someone put out a good flying video of this plane vs the crap I've read about it.. thanks for posting, now I'm buying one for sure!!
Very nice flying! I've watched this video several times and it never get old. It impresses me every time. I'm sure Mr.Buble would also enjoy watching your flying. Keep up the cool vids eh! Lol
Thanks very much, usually watch the video through every time I get another great comment. Music really works with the flow of the flying on this one, not planned but ya got a few more vids now lol Glad to see this one is near the 100k mark, one of my favorites
@watermelonboy100 it's an aerobatic plane. It's not supposed to go really fast, but it's better than the typhoon. If you want a 3D type plane, get a foamy profile from DW Foamies or 3D Hobby Shop. if you want a full out 3D plane, you can also get the E-flite CarbonZ yak, but it's pretty fast too. All depends what you've flown before
@demise002 Thanks a lot, I'm like the APC 12X6 for it. There are also a cool wooden prop called Vess I think, going to try out on my e-flite Yak as well. Get a Yak too, they fly even better. Extreme unlimited 3D with them, including hovering, and tons of power
Nice to see someone that can actually fly this plane, unlike most who blame their poor skills on the engineering.....Snappy tune too! ...... I'm getting my 300 this Sat :)
@warderseeker Ok, i thought so. I too, added velcro to the battery. Thank you very much. I'll give her a try soon and going to play around with some different prop sizes. Btw very nice flying, i enjoy your videos.
@flyboyfx I would absolutely recommend it. I was flyin mine yesterday, doing knife edge, harriers, flat spins. It's capable of all of that, but not a great 3D plane. Not seeing it hover very well, but that's about the only thing I don't like. Want extreme 3D like hovering and rolling harriers etc, need a real 3D like the Yak, but this is a great step up plane, and would say it's a great trainer for most 3D and aerobatics
@rcfumes thanks a lot, not stock prop, I put a 12X6 apc on it, but the stock one does work pretty well, just a faster prop I think. The 300 is pretty easy to fly, but just need to know what it's stall speed and curve is, how long it will take to slow down as you're landing.
@mayrhofer96 sure, no reason you couldn't if that's a 6 channel radio. You will want to have exponential though, and the ability to adjust travel. I dont know the radio, so not sure about those, but it'll fly on any 4channel radio
I love this plane. As far as the wings there is nothing wrong , the problem was the cg was off. I measured 25% of the wing from the leading edge and it flies great! !!!!! This turnigy battery is placed front of the carbon fiber rod. It flies like an 80" gas plane .and has a great sound coming from the prop.
@jchamine the 300 is really an intermediate plane. I'd suggest a Parkzone Trojan to get some aileron practice, and something other than a high wing trainer. A lot of guys have found this to be the perfect next plane after a supercub. You could probably fly it no problem, if the throws were setup right, and trimmed right for take-off, and had some good luck, but it's a very agile plane. Landings hardest thing to get good at with this too, unless you've flown other planes before.
Thats where I have been putting it, just checking. I can definetly tell you have been flying along time by making that 300 do the things it was doing, Thanks for the tip.
@fastestcararound ya guys have had luck with larger tires on grass. Make sure guys push the battery all the way forward, so that the strap barely covers the end of the battery. This will ensure a good CG
Just a perfect flight, didn´t know, that this plane can do all this. thanks for this video. By for now, going to fly now to test all that... Jo from SkyandCameraFly
thanks a lot, one of my favorite videos, and always watch it again when I get comments on it. I like putting great tunes on my videos, but unfortunately at times it will stop people from watching on phones, or get blocked the odd time, but I still keep playing great music. Thanks for watching, hundreds of awesome videos on the main channel
@RobinDChrisChurch thanks a lot, need a lot of elevator for the harriers, but it still rocks a bit during it, unless you are turnign just a little , with rudder. thanks for watching
Very Nice! I'm new to RC Planes and Just bought a like new 300Extra. I'll be on a simulator till I find a place to fly. Clubs in this area a pretty expensive and we're only here for the winter. Thanks for the great videos.
@DOOODBOY1 thanks for watching. Yes I was hoping it would be better for 3D, but wasn't put out as a 3D plane. More of an aerobatic hybrid. If parkzone would have put the CG right in the manual to start with, none of this wing flipping hogwash would have started. Really the wing mod is great, winglets are like putting side force generators on say your Tribute or some of the other stuff out there.
we liked a 12X6 apc normal prop, not a slow fly or anything and that was 28amps or something on that 30 or 35 they use. Great plane though, loved flying it, and now have a set of supercub floats on it for fun LOL
@TheFlightLog it's 2.4 but non digital? The biggest thing you want with an aerobatic plane is exponential, to make control surfaces move more smoothly. as long as you have expo, this will be a flyable plane. Without expo, it will be very touchy, depending on how you setup the surfaces
I have the Battery in exactly where you said and I set the up and down elevator up by the book for a beginner.I'll have to double check the book tonight to see it I goofed.
@beverke7 Good deal on the buy. You'll have a blast with it. Just put that battery almost all the way forward, just so the strap barely holds the top. A little square of velcro on the battery and bay will stop it from sliding too
Hey great flying I love this video it made me buy the plane!! I get on really well with it and have just noticed you have swapped the prop so i'm going to give that a try too. I however get big problems with the 30 amp esc that came installed, it cuts out if I full power it for too long and stops me from controlling receiver completely! Do you have a 30amp esc in yours?
Wouldn't have pinned you for a buble fan.. Love that music... And yeah.. i agree with you on the "hate" the 300 has gotten.. i love mine.. one of my favorite flying planes to date (For the price of course) Gotta get out and fly a few more times with you guys before summer is over..
yes, the first time code is a snap roll. Full ailerons/rudder and some elevator. No harrier with flaperons, just full elevator and probably 1/2 to 2/3rds throttle. Varied as you are in the corner etc
I actually bought a parkzone 300 because of this video, and i can fly it the exact same as you =- P, I am recently experimenting for all the extra 300 lovers, i have changed the motor mount on the pz 300 for full straight forward thrust, using a 12x8.75 pz 3d prop it will stand in a hover until the battery dies, and i believe changing the motor thrust and straightening it out did it. its simplicity , and it changes all aspects of the pz 300. o yeah i just used spacers under the mount to level it
@warderseeker I havent tried yet, but still experimenting with the control surfaces. Mind if i ask where you put your battery at in this plane? So far i haven't moved it from the "full forward" position and i think that might be giving me a little trouble keeping the nose up.
Nice flyin' there bro. 300 is very cool for your type of flying. I had hoped that the 3-D stuff would of come more natural to this craft like the larger versions. You're right, for a 250.00 plane it fly's great for what it is. Later... Doodboy1
@Duggan00 haha..I"m in Canada eh? LOL Like in Vancouver British Columbia Not sure if the 300 falls out to the right, most times it torques around and thats' when it falls out, probably pilot error X-)
@stevecraignet thanks very much. Please check out the newest video. Habu EDF's rolling over each other canopy to canopy with onboard cam and very close passes
@IEATSRT Thanks man, I've seen the post that parkzone did on the wing issue. It says that due to some paint shrinkage, the wing tips do look a big misformed, but after thorough testing of multiple wing and plane samples, they found no appreciable loss in flight characteristics. From the Horizon support page They fly great, but they are a 300 buck plane, man the gear was in there pretty good on mine, had to scrape her bad pulling out of a dive too low to pull mine off. You take er easy too bud
thanks for watching, glad you liked it, and are getting some experience with the Extra. I won't be doing any more videos with it doing that stuff though, converted it to a seaplane LOL If you have stuff you want to know, certain maneuevers, you can give me the time code eg.. 2:30 is a hammerhead or stall turn with a half roll, I can tell you what it is. Callilng them out during a flight is kinda hard and breaks your concentration and flow of flying :-)
@fastestcararound their argument is that it's supposed to be symetrical, but you can see, and even on mine, a little deformation at the very tip of the wing. Parkzone put out a bulletin, saying they tested different combos, wings, bodies, etc and found NO real difference or problems with any of them.
Well I took my Extra 300 out today for the first time :) I love it,my only issue is when I try to do a basic roll it likes to pitch hard out of the roll. When it starts to climb and go into the inverted part of the top of the loop. It's as if I'm using the ailerons but I'm not lol. It doesn't happen with my carbon z yak so I'm guessing I must need to play with the mixing? Any suggestions?
Great thank's what's it called at 1:40 - 1:46? Some kind of snap roll? And at 3:00 did you do that Harrier with Flaperons and where would your throttle position be? I have a real hard time with the Harrier lol. Thank's again.
pretty sure used the same esc with it. Maybe the 12X6 will make the difference. Also if it's drawing too much, might be overheating the esc/bec. Have you got a amp meter/wattmeter to test the draw?
@PC9JEFF The inverted 45, you mean a sideslip inverted? cool. Not sure how you mean about the M's how do you mean, Straight up, then flip over and down at a 45, then up at a 45 and then Straight down again?
@watermelonboy100 the wildcat is a nice plane, but very stable and even has some camber to the wings to make it a lot like a low wing trainer. The 300 is a great plane and worth the price, but I'd almost go straight to the e-flite Yak if you want to practice 3D. You'll need the ability to charge a 4cell though, and more of them, if you want multiple flights. If you don't want 3D, sure get an extra for aerobatic stuff or maybe a pulse25E They're a great plane too
Okay im jealous!!!! Great flying. I agree with you though man. I almost didnt buy the plane because of all the negative crap on the internet about this plane. I bought it, put it together as per instructions, and find it fantastic, even though i can fly anywhere near this good. I love flying this model. But now, i gotta go practice more so i can fly like this!!!!
thank you thank you and thank you. I am 13 and it took me one month to get landins down on this plane, and that's only because i was not used to a plane coming in so fast. all of you babies complaining about this plane being hard to land, it's not because of the wing, you're just not a good pilot.
This video is how all flight videos should be...the music is amazing and fits so well with the smooth flight. Awesome job!
@internaman thanks a lot, glad you liked the song and like the 300. Great plane. We're now doing Knife Edge formation with it, me and another guy
Wanderseeker, can't decide what's best; the flying, the video, or the music... it's all tied for first place! Beautiful!!
@moron32 Just practice knife edges up high, and when you can keep it stable no problem, start turning a bit. To turn you give it UP elevator, and lower the throttle just a touch, so it doesn't go up a lot, then when back in the straight away, add the throttle back, and let off the elevator. thanks a lot, best hobby ever. FPV crazy now too, check out some on the main channel
Best video I have seen in a long while! Love the knife edge flying - fantastic!
Parkzone should use this vid for presentation an commercial! very nice flight!!! Greetings from Germany!!!

Hi,
Great flying. You know how to fly the Extra 300. Love it.
Miles away from my flying skill :(
One of the best Videos i saw fromt the PZ Extra !!!!
Amazing!!! When I grow up I want to fly my Extra 3000 like this.
SAM
Hi Ronin Pictures yesterday i bought Extra 300 from a Pakzone. I'm so excited, in monday first flight :D
Piotr Piętka Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy it as much as I did mine
@Mohnfeldi thanks a lot, greetings from Vancouver Canada
Nice to see someone that can actually fly this plane, unlike most who blame their poor skills on the engineering.....Snappy tune too! ...... I'm getting my 300 this
Sat :)
@dolbydarma thanks very much, very cool plane, and flies very well. Thanks for watching
@flyboyfx Great! I need something that I can practice more advanced aerobatics with and if I do splash it, it's easy to fix!
@lkgboater71 thanks a lot, dude. Plane flies really well, stock out of the box. All I have done is the prop change
Great video!!!
Great Airplane!!
Great editing and music choice!
Thks
@bckillick thanks a lot dude, she's a great aerobatic plane, not quite 3D but still great and the buble is fun for it too
@BryansFlyin Thanks man, been flying about 4 years now, and am at the field constantly LOL Can't get enough of it, from helis to jet to 3D planes
@chiosex thanks a lot, you bet, keep em flying and getting lots of stick time. All it takes
@Skydive4ever thanks for watching man. Do you have one?
Thats where I have been putting it, just checking. I can definetly tell you have been flying along time by making that 300 do the things it was doing, Thanks for the tip.
@Rcflyyer1 hi sorry if I didn't answer this already, it's a Sony HDR-SR11. Great HD camcorder
Thanks for the great videos.
thanks Ray, good luck finding somewhere good to fly. Keep the power on for landings and you'll be good. Thanks a lot for watching
@Chansaux they're basically what the manual says with some tweaking along the way. Make sure you have at least 35% expo too
we liked a 12X6 apc normal prop, not a slow fly or anything and that was 28amps or something on that 30 or 35 they use. Great plane though, loved flying it, and now have a set of supercub floats on it for fun LOL
@TweakRacer thanks a lot, you bet, great cameraman on this one. I gotta practice more rolling circuits too
@TheFlightLog it's 2.4 but non digital? The biggest thing you want with an aerobatic plane is exponential, to make control surfaces move more smoothly. as long as you have expo, this will be a flyable plane. Without expo, it will be very touchy, depending on how you setup the surfaces
I have the Battery in exactly where you said and I set the up and down elevator up by the book for a beginner.I'll have to double check the book tonight to see it I goofed.
VERY nice flying. Video is nicely put together also.
Keep them flying ;-)
And yeah.. i agree with you on the "hate" the 300 has gotten.. i love mine.. one of my favorite flying planes to date (For the price of course)
Gotta get out and fly a few more times with you guys before summer is over..
yes, the first time code is a snap roll.
Very nice, almost bought a 12/6 prop for mine today.
@stevecraignet thanks very much. Please check out the newest video. Habu EDF's rolling over each other canopy to canopy with onboard cam and very close passes
@skiscola that will be a good prop for you. Thanks for watching
@IEATSRT Thanks man, I've seen the post that parkzone did on the wing issue. It says that due to some paint shrinkage, the wing tips do look a big misformed, but after thorough testing of multiple wing and plane samples, they found no appreciable loss in flight characteristics. From the Horizon support page
They fly great, but they are a 300 buck plane, man the gear was in there pretty good on mine, had to scrape her bad pulling out of a dive too low to pull mine off.
You take er easy too bud
Awesome flying! Song goes well with it too :)
Isky B Thanks a lot, check out the newest video on 250 Racing sites, on the main channel
That's the perfect song for this.... Good choice
thanks for watching, glad you liked it, and are getting some experience with the Extra.
But now, i gotta go practice more so i can fly like this!!!!
smoooooooth flying!! great job!!
thanks a lot for watching, check out the channel for more great flying and aircraft
