If he'd go to a hospital and see sick children (or adults) then he'll see them and because he's a human being, he *will* feel sympathy. Interesting discussion. As far as I'm concerned, I don't agree with a lot of King Diamond's views but his albums, videos and shows are just harmless entertainment. I think that it's up to people to draw the line as to what is good and what is bad and take complete responsibility for their own actions and live by common sense. There are also important and personal issues that need to be delt with as well.
He responded to those questions articulately and without any insults, he's great even when he's NOT on stage ! With the way he spoke, even in Danish, he's probably no different from most people with kids of their own nowadays.

The only real reason why it is called Satanism is because Satan litteratelly means “opposite” and it is meant as opposition to many religious institutions, especially Christianity in America, which LaVey viewed as highly hypocritical in itself. Paul Leach King does carry over some of the concepts from Mercyful Fate into King Diamond. For instance "they" are demons. But King Diamond is more concept albums made up of horror/ghost stories put to music....damn fine music, too! Whereas Mercyful Fate is more satanic. The background scenes in Sleepless Nights are from City of the Dead/Horror Hotel and Black Sunday. I have been listening to these two bands since 1988, they're amongst my favorite metal bands of all time.

You don't have to agree with the aspects you can believe what you want but when you call it lame you are contradicting the fact you like them. There's a differance between no agreeing with it and flat out insulting the aspects despite listening to the satanic traits in his music and enjoying it. cant make it any clearer.
A Satanist won't ever say he is a Satanist unless asked. The label represents the philosophy not the individual. a Satanist can wear what he wants for example he doesn't need to state he is a Satanist to anyone. So therefore it is individual. I guarantee you will have seen more Satanists than you can imagine without knowing. Everything has a name that's the natural way. Individualism isn't defined whether or not you have a label.

You and I were made to believe in it as we grew up. We are here on earth just by chance. The natural order of things is that we are born, grow, reproduce, and we die. @mikeyes11 how is he contradicting himself? he's thoroughly explaining how Satanism is not what 99% of the world thinks it is, meanwhile the Priest had to "change his story" 3 times. not to say the priest was wrong, as i do have respect for Christianity, but the way Christianity has many different orders and rules is just wrong. Other religions deny this Human Existance and what comes with it. A Satanist knows that they enjoy being Human. Some need to find something that denies their Humanity.

King Diamond is an amazing performer, but he's totally clueless about the word of God. In his effort to sound smart, he misquotes in its entirety the biblical passage.
Because technically you should also have a problem with his music if you knew what real Satanism is and some of his philosophy is in his lyrics. Therefore it's hard to understand why you respect him if you don't respect his philosophy as Satanists ARE their philosophy. That's the whole point. Satanism is individualism. It's not devil worship.
