I have a Brompton, don't get me wrong, I really like it but I've always thought about the Birdy in an almost lustful manner ;) Follow me on IG :- / jamielimjj
Why do you like the Birdy racing model so much? 4 years later, what are the positives and negatives? I have yet to try a Birdy. I probably should but I can't get past the front fork design. It seems like an unnecessary complication and weight to me but I'm sure I'm wrong.
The Birdy looks real slick & build quality looks solid! I'm gathering it rides easier & better than yr Brompton. I'm still trying to get used to the gearing of my 6 speed Brompton. I feel I have to work too hard to pedal that thing. Can't seem to find the right gear.
I’d like to think of the Brompton as the ultimate commuter foldable. It’s unbeatable in that regard in terms of its folding ability/reliability. I find myself somewhere in the middle when I ride the brompton. The birdy I’m building will be the fastest version since I am opting for the 20 inch version.
I was deciding on the GT or Racing. After you review I am more confirm that I have made the right choice choosing the racing that is now the new R20. 👍😄
@@cloudstrife3762 If I remembered correctly Some features of the new R20 are: Latest Shimano 105 Rear Derailleur 20 inch size Hunsmith wheelset 20 inch Schwalbe Durano tyres
The Pacific Reach with dropbars is the one I always wanted. I have a classic Tern Verge X30h. I’m a bit confused about this bikes, they are 20”?. Sorry but I don’t understand this lovely lady accent but did she says all frames are the same except the classic design right? Which of these models is right for a road bike cyclist. Thank you and enjoy your new machine.
The Birdy is a top shelve bike in its technical design and hefty price. It's made for the rich. A quick check online and some costs $6000-8000 almost the price of a mid tier road bike
Congratulations! Nice model!👌. I’m just about to tune my yellow Birdy-need more suspension and a better derailleur. And i’m still searching for the easy wheels- impossible to get hands on in Europe🍀🙏
I've owned up to 3 bromptons (sold one) and I've been sorely tempted to get a Birdy for the last 5+ years. Bromptons are great but Birdy comfortably beats them in terms of fun and ridability. However, what I wanted was an all-terrain foldable (something that can do light off-roading with confidence) that is almost as compact as the Brompton. I held off on getting it because the 18" tyres were really not much bigger than the Bromptons, but the new 20" R20 gives me hope. Will go down and have a look one day.
Ya the Birdy bike looks more better than the Royale , moreover with suspension in front wheel should be much more comfortable especially this small bike with 20” wheel ,well will definitely consider my third bike this brand it looks more solid than the Royale .🤣🤣🤣
Jamie the price is what currency? are you in Singapore? forgive my ignorance i stumbled upon your video and subscribed.. it looks like Singapore to me.. I am from San Jose California and i am looking for Birdy Auth dealer here. I got a Brompton already
I only tried the Rohloff which I found “odd” cos of the pedal feel. The rohloff is designed to be “maintenance-free” for long distance riding. I’d imagine the the rest to be similar to one another which is why I went for the racing.
Sorry but the birdy looks clumsy and heavy and is no way near as compact like the brompton so for me there is no competition the Brampton wins hands down every time.

great explanation by the mightyvelo saleswoman! stoked to finally see a video from you, hopefully see more videos for the year 2020 😃
Gosh, she knows her stuff well especially when she even mentions on the cross section cut of the bike's body! kudos miss!
If you are a salesman and dunno your stuff you sure will never get a sale, esp a "high end " brand.

What's the widest tyre that can fit on the front fork of the R20?
@@nickwee258 All I know is R20 is a 20inch wheel bigger than the previous version of Birdy Racing which is 18inches.
Lucas Png how many speed on R20? Is it single chainring on the front?

Yes you’re right, same frames except for the Classic. The racing version comes in 20 inch rims...

Thanks for your videos on the Birdy! Only ones I can find for the Birdy that is more of a rider review. Inspires me to do my own man.
You should!!
Haha. Yah, maybe I should! Mine’s a GT unlike yours.
You got the City instead? I thought you ordered the Racing. Enjoying your Birdy vids! Just ordered my City in Polished Silver :)
Very nice 👍
Congratulations! Nice model!👌.

why would you use easy wheels on a birdy? does it push along in fold mode?
Where is this bike shop? She explained very detailed
Now the models are even more expensive! like 300-500 SGD more 😭

Not entirely sure about the new 20 inch rims outfitted with AT tires, I went for the upgrade cos of the speed...
Did you ever get one Nick? I'm looking for one I can put on the bus that will cope with rural tracks as well.
Hi jamie. Awesome vid. Can i ask Wat do u think of the pacific reach gt?
I think it’s great too in its stock form.
Jamie Lim thanks man. Stock coming in end oct. hope u can do a review on it too!! Keep riding and stay safe!!
Can you make it clear if where you bought your Birdy they sell Brompton?
They don’t sell Bromptons anymore at Mighty Velo.
is this suitable for long journey or do delivery??
Looking forward to your birdy racing review
After watching, I’ve bought a GT :)

Yes this is in Singapore currency and I live in Singapore :)
I like your style. Good work.
It’s no Dualtron thunder but great for fitness and health 😁
It sure is, our days with the Dualtron is well and truly over.
If you wanterd the 2 B's then I'd have gone for the Bickerton and saved a bundle.
Did you try the GT , city and classic? is the difference huge?

@@jamieohpa I see, thanks for your input.
she is quite beautiful
Price increased so much, as at Sep 2021, GT now $3349, up from $2899 (7:57)
Some these bikes are 3x the cost of a Brompton. I don’t see why this is the case.
Are you sure. Brompton Tlines are the most expensive folding bikes ever made.
Nice video and pro shop. Can I order from this shop n ship to HK ? Thanks
You should reach out to them! ewalker.com.sg :)
I park roadside when I drop by ... haha good idea to park in the carpark...
If you have a Bromton, you don't need to buy a Birdy.
Great
Nice
It has to be in Singapore 😋

Good video but can't understand half the words the girls says, she needs to be subtitled :-)
Other bike showoff after birdy in
All oos

Sorry but her accent is so hard to understand.
