your energy is absolutely amazing! i love watching all of your videos . You are such an inspiration to me and i am sure many other people :)
Brooke Arnold Thank you!
Love the beginning of Spring!! Can't believe the last days of Summer are here. Would love to revisit your deck to see the plants full and in bloom!
You are my hero!! At the 7:00 mark, you REALLY cleaned that corner. You cleaned ALL of it. Love it. Thank you for the inspiration. Im going to get cleaning!!
Love the deck and the goats! Your little garden is beautiful...makes me want to try and plant one of my own :)
***** well, go ahead!
Isn't it nice to finally see green outside again? After the amount of snow you all had, I am sure it's a relief! You have an awesome back yard. I love my deck, it's like an outdoor room for me where I spend my mornings with my coffee cup.
Pamala Meyer It is a nice space, but I have to admit that since we removed the two big trees, we are roasting there in the summer!
Believe it or not there were 8 trees in my back and side yard. A few years ago we had a tornado that took out 5 of them. Last summer another tornado took out a couple more and nearly my deck. I have one left so my back yard is like an oven. I feel for you!
I keep hear you talking about the goat, and I'm like, I thought she was in town? Finally put my sewing down to look and was like, ohhhhh, that's why I don't hear the goat that needs moved! 🤣
Finally Spring has sprung here in the Northeast. Last year we laid out about 50 bags of mulch. That was hard work too, We are so lucky to have our own homes to beautify and enjoy Thanks for the videos, I must get going on my outdoor projects as well. Thanks for the inspiration Sophia,
Linda P You re welcome!
This reminds me that I should start getting my deck together before it gets too hot.
That was a hard days work! With beautiful results! Love the planters and the goats with the really cute names. :) haha.
Cleaning our deck is on my list. The humidity here is already bad and so is the pollen. Everything is a lovely shade of yellow. We've also had an abundance of rain w/o much sunshine.
Love your deck. I bet it really looks lovely when everything is in bloom.
Dear Sophia, You are an Ambassador for all us women, who have to do the most of the work by ourselves. In 20 years, when you`ll watch all Your videos, You will ask Yourself "How on Earth did I manage to do all of this WORK ???" I speak from experience :) Love You , Jožica
Every time you upload I get so excited! I love your videos so much, you're a big inspiration to me xx
I recently bought a pressure washer only $150, makes cleaning deck and patio so much easier.
my, what a difference three years make. the boys are so young!
Love a goat too. I'm a Capricorn. Looks great!
Awesome, awesome! I get so much motivation from you! I was doing so well getting ready for Spring, then I had a physcial setback. Feeling better refuse to waddle in it, so came to see what Sophia is up to and never disappointing. Had to start over, but glad to say I am going strong. That deck is so inviting! Wow, Spring has sprung!
Nida Simmons Feel better, yes, Spring has sprung!
Good afternoon Sofia, it was so inspirational for me to see one more of your videos !!! It is late afternoon here in Greece and I had a break from my spring cleaning so I checked your uploads and there it was :)
Your deck looks amazing, I noticed your choises in herbs are pretty much the same like the ones we have here, also noticed the use of bleach, I also use a lot of good old bleach in unfinished wooden floors, so I kind of felt a little bit closer to you (if there is such an expression in English).
You are a great hard working lady having a wonderful family and rasing your lovely kids, sincerely my role model in household !!!
Please excuse my poor English and keep up the good work :)
Marilena Markou Thank you Marinela, I don t know about role model, i still have so much lacking in the area of structure and routine!
I live in a wooded area .If you want to see a green deck, you should see mine.. My neighbor said there's a product for getting rid of the mold and algae that sprays on and rinse off,no scrubbing.Works for me..One thing ,if you use a power washer keep it at a certain distance from the decking or you can damage the wood..Voice of experience..Washer can break glass at full power.Hope this helps.😁
Barbara Von Eitzen Thanks Barbara, that is exactly the reason why i don t want to use a power washer. the deck is not large enough to provide clearance for the right angle, this deck is quite old and I intend to maintain in not destroy it!
Another great vlog Sophia. Your deck area looks lovely. It must be nice to see the sunshine after some of the snowy winter vlogs I've watched. I'm not a fan of the cold weather, luckily where I live it doesn't get that cold. May I say you are looking lovely and slim.
The timing of this video could not have been better - I was just looking at my own deck yesterday and thinking about the TLC that it needs. Thank you for sharing - I picked up some great ideas!
SparkleFrogs good. Glad you liked it.
Your deck turned out so nice.Happy Spring and Summer
Your deck is very nice . You mentioned sanding it, my neighbor used a power washer on his fence and it stripped it down to "new wood". It might be easier to use one of those! I love your little herb garden, I also grown a few potted herbs but I'm not very good at using them when I cook. Maybe you could show us a few ideas when you use your fresh herbs? Thanks, Luella
jeff RAPER We just put them in salads. that s about it. I like the greenery of it, it makes for a nice corner and it keeps mosquitoes at bay. I don t want to use a power washer on this deck, it is too old and one wrong angle will make splinters.
Home Depot, my husband's favorite place. I can go in get what I want and get out. He goes in, get lost and comes out with a bunch of things. I love your outdoors just as much as your indoors. How about a garage organization video?
Tessie Dobey coming up next!
Wow... you worked really hard on that...love how your boys had a little turn at scrubbing too...:) It looks lovely and I'm sure as the plants and herbs fill out it will look prettier and prettier x
Joanne Radley They do and it looks wonderful in the summer.
I enjoyed watching your spring cleaning on your deck. Your goats look so cute next to your plants! Your herb garden and flowers look very nice, would like to see a future video on how they have grown, thanks for sharing Sophia .
Emily Kiesling I am sure there will be an update here and there Thanks for watching
Your deck looks really nice
Doing the very same thing here. You did a great job. I need to replace some of the old boards on my deck still, but for now-I'm just cleaning it up and refilling the planters. I have to buy two new grill covers and a new umbrella for the table and a couple chairs because one broke. Love the goats! I have a terrible mold problem because half of the deck is shaded. Going to move some of those Hostas to pots like you suggested before. I have until the last week in May to get all of this stuff done as well because we've got company coming. Great job--great vid and it looks beautiful!
Terry d Thanks Terry. Let me tell you, that outdoor bleach I bought at the home depot is amazing, the mold is GONE, all the wood is a light sand color now!
My Great Challenge Wonder what brand that was. We just got back from Lowes and could have probably bought some there. I was going to use regular bleach, I don't know what the difference is. We went there to buy a couple new chairs for the deck and ended up buying a lot more than that! Lol Our old grill was 17 years old and although I've kept in good condition--the bottom has rusted out over the years and it won't hold the propane tank any more. So we bought a new grill, two resin wicker chairs for 60 bucks each, some new cushions for them, and some charcoal for our other charcoal grill and some other stuff. Ended up spending over 600.00 bucks today including dinner at Uno's Chicago Grill--Lol I'm beat--good thing I don't have to get up early tomorrow. I'm going to get some of that bleach too because your deck looks great.
Looks Great Sophia! I should of video my youngest Son and I putting up a new Garage door opener. It was interesting.
Hi Sophia. So excited for this series. Your back deck looks so lovely. Your choice of plants are beautiful. looking forward to the next one xxx
Amy Howell thank you
Sophia, amazement as usual! You are an inspiration!
roomforapony1 Thank you!
Another job well done , loved it , and love it when you take us out and with you . Carnt wait for more videos like this xxx
Julie Williams Thank you Julie, more coming up!
I love your videos - you have a natural style. The deck looks great! 😀
1jackieworcs thank you
we have a few more weeks of cooler days in the UK before I have to worry about the deck, but I love the goats
t. a. poynter-watson Thanks, they are from the Naval Academy.
Sofhia, you are amazing! I mean it! You inspire me with each video that you make. Thank you for that. I love the goats. I'm going to see if I can find the video you mentioned here about the goats. Blessings!
888Jermae It's in one of the 12 days of christmas, I can't remember which one.
You did an amazing job!! I just love it. :)
you're so lucky - up here in Ontario we don't dare plant any herbs or flowers until our May 2-4 weekend and we are right on Lake Ontario....otherwise they'd likely die because we still get frost at night till then....your deck looks lovely and already for family barbeque time! Hurray!!
Jazzy Babe Thanks, but you still get to enjoy them. We had a late spring here, my daffodils just bloomed 2 days ago!
Wow that made a big difference.
I suppose I will do this soon. It's not very warm here in Mi yet but it's better to be a little cooler. I wish deck stain lasted longer.
Debbie Bell You have to use Penafin. Only a few store sale it. it lasts forever! That s what I will do when I am ready to stain mine.
I love your videos and can't wait to see the rest of the home office series!
Miss Dorothy thank you
Well done Sophia. All your hard work! Your deck looked great, would love to see a quick look every so often at you herbs and plants if that is possible. Thank you.
MarieJeanne THank you
Lovely work! We get that moss growing through the Winter on our paved patio at the back of the house. It comes through lack of sunshine unfortunately. Love the goats!
Ann in-DurhamUK Find an outdoor bleach, it comes in a gallon, it s a bit thick like a gel but you mix it with water. All my algea and mold is gone!
Thanks! Will do that
Great work! Loved it! Kisses from Brazil! Oh next month I'll be in the USA. Can't wait, because it's our first time!
Amanda Gibim enjoy your vacation!
Looks fabulous!!
TheEnglishRose77 thank you
Love the deck and what you did with the plants - must be very nice to sit there in the warm weather. Have you ever come across "apple mint"? It's invasive, like mints, if you don't put it in a pot, love some boiled with new potatoes. Looking forward to what you do in the garage - need some tips ours needs a really good "blitz"! Saw your comment on facebook (I'm not on it so couldn't reply there), you are very welcome. Lorna UK
Jonathan Pountney I love all kinds of mint and yes you need to contain them, they are as bad as bamboo. But, delicious, one I like best is spearmint also pineapple mint.
We have spearmint and also ginger mint. Will have to look for pineapple mint next time at the garden centre!
I love it!! 😀
hollyinyellow77 Thanks
Very nice, Sophia!
Beth C THank you
Looks so nice after all that hard work! :)
Crystal Tracey thanks Crystal
Hey, love your deck. Around the bottom of your back door frame it looks like mine did before we had to replace it because of rot and mildew. Just sharing out of concern.
So happy to see one of your videos. I missed you and was thinking how you were getting on with the home office. I enjoyed this and it gives me some inspiration for our own backyard which is a complete disaster and needs redoing, but we also have a front porch which I can incorporate some ideas from you. TFS. I heard it is going to snow here next week...bah.
duncandy I wonder what Sophia is up to when I haven't seen a video for only a little while, we are addicts lol!
BellinaSkyBright I'm with on that...love her videos
That was brilliant Thankyou for sharing you gave me a few ideas for our decking ;-) Ours is not very big either xx
Yvonne B You do not need a big deck, ours is just a funky shape.
Ours is like 15ft x 11ft hardly anything left when the table and chairs, barbecue and garden swing seat is on it xx
Everything looks great :)
dallascowboys2122 thank you
Sophia, I discovered your channel a week ago and have enjoyed it so much (love seeing your family; you are so blessed!) I watched the home office series but couldn't find the finished project. Has it been uploaded yet? Or where can I find it? The deck looks like a wonderful place for a family to relax together!
Miss Dorothy I did not finish it yet, three more videos to come, the desktop, the floor and putting it all back together!
Looks lovely! I LOVE the goats. Would you please share where you bought them?
Wonderful! Thank you so much! :)
Also do you use citronella for repelling bugs? If so does it work well? I'm terrified of spiders!
Did you post a vid of the finished office?
Love it
Pressure washing is lots more fun!
PS:I don`t know if You have it?! I`ve got a High Pressure Watercleaner ( by Kärcher)for outdoor cleaning. It`s spectaculare and wonderfull for cleaning carpets in the summer :))
Jealous! No planting here in Western NY for another month. :(
Laura C Don t worry that means you keep yours longer than mine in the fall!
I'm going to have to stop watching your videos, Sophia (not really!) My deck is a disgrace and now I'm inspired to plant herbs (and citronella) out there. I might a green and gold theme. :-) You give me great ideas and if I could recover quickly enough from my op, I'll be out there copycatting you.
joools1953 take your time, sometimes all we need is a little bit of inspiration
Where did you get the goats
Robina's tips Robina, these are form the Naval Academy in Annapolis gift shop. but you can find them if you google billy goat garden ornaments.
thanks
Does the Citronella help with mosquitoes? I am always looking for something to help with those nasty pesky things. Thanks. XOXO Karen
the deck would look nicer if it's painted with exterior wood paint
