I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. Don't feel to bad about your house, all our homes get messy. A house that's been lived in is called a home! It's a good thing!! Have a great weekend Sophia and family!!
Sophia, I hope you feel better soon and will be keeping you in my prayers. I love your videos very much. You work so hard to keep your home. In fact, you are working too hard. Everyone in a family needs to contribute to making a home clean. I was where you are but now my home is always clean and clutter free. I had a family meeting and laid down some ground rules. My children at that time were 6 and 8. Here are the rules I enforced: 1. I committed to having the dishwasher emptied by the time they ate breakfast. Turning the dishwasher on was the last thing I did every night before I went to bed and I emptied it first thing when I woke up. 2. When someone finished eating it was THEIR responsibility to put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher never the sink. Anyone who didn't follow the rule had to do dishes by hand. Dirty dishes were not allowed in the sink ever with the exception of pots and pans and items that couldn't go in the dishwasher. I committed to washing these immediately after the meal was eaten. If anyone ate a meal or snack that was not prepared by me it was their responsibility to wash the items that couldn't go in the dishwasher. As a result of rule 1 and 2 I never have dishes in my sink or on my counter. 3. I gave everyone a large basket (in my case I put it in our entry way but each persons household will have a different layout). This was the only place anyone was allowed to use as a hot zone. I really enforced this one. The hardest one to train was my husband. 4. As soon as they woke up they had to make their bed. Before they went to bed they had to tidy their room and put the clothes they wore that day in the laundry hamper. The first 3 weeks were absolute hell and I was ready to give up because I felt like I was constantly nagging but I kept with it and by the end of 6 weeks the new routine was habit. It was so worth the aggravation and frustration I went through. My boys are older now and they have developed habits that keep their rooms and bathroom tidy and clean. Just remember that everyone needs to contribute to keeping up your home. What surprised me the most through this process was watching my children's confidence grow and the pride they felt. It made them feel so good to know that they were contributing to the running of the household. Once they turned 10 I started assigning them chores that became their responsibility. This is how our family does it. There is no right or wrong way to run a household. Everyone has to do what works for their family. I didn't think this would work for my family but it did and it only took 6 weeks of consistency and pulling my hair out but it sure was worth it in the long run.
Sophia you cleaned your house like a champ!! You did motivate me! Thank you. I love your dogs sneaking back onto to the furniture. Lol. Always love watching you do anything. Best of luck to you with your CT scan. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks again for sharing your day with us.
If I go one day without cleaning, our home is a disaster (and it's a tiny flat). You are not the only one that can't keep up. Anyhow, love love love your cleaning videos. They truly motivate me.
Keeping organised and clean in the house is definitely a never ending job, let it slip for a day or two (or school holidays!) and you are correct, the house explodes. There is always a battle with dust in the house and weeds in the garden! I have learnt to have a "catch all" basket/bin in the major rooms to "throw" all of the stuff in and then sort later, it instantly makes it appear tidier! Hope everything is OK with you healthwise. FYI - I think I wouldn't mix bleach and vinegar together. Lorna UK
You really inspire me to do things in my home I am disabled with a bad back and arthritis and my hubby does the"cleaning" so sometimes I may empty my glass cabinet and it makes me feel a little better so you keep going I dont want to sit and watch someone who lives in a house as in show house you live in a home!!!!
I'm finally ready to watch this Sophia as I need motivation to get my house cleaned. I haven't cleaned it myself in about 18 months due to bad health, and then Athena doing it to earn some pocket money. But it's not been done the last couple of weeks due to her bad health so I'm trying to at least get a few rooms done. So thanks for the inspiration and motivation :-). Hmm.... I see I've already commented on this. I think I watched part and then decided to keep it for when I really needed it :-).
Hello Sophia, your home is a real family home, you're doing a great job,l still think of jasper @ how brilliant you were with him. best wishes to you @ your lovely family.x.
I love watching your cleaning videos. Because of my health what used to take me two hours now takes all day but you do inspire me to get up and do something.
I love how you handle all these tough job, knowing you were sick.i have migraine and it is soooo painful i wanted to cry coz it is supposed to be the day of my cleaning ang doing all my laundry but my head is freacking painful and i cannot go on with what was i planned.thank you sophia for showing and sharing of these.muah!you look a slimmer now.
Well I think you did an amazing job and I have to say, under two hours...that's pretty darn good! I'm still working on routines and I'm in my 50's. That seems to be the secret but I have a hard time keep'n it rolling. I stick to it for awhile and then life gets in the way and I get sidetracked, then I feel I'm starting all over again. I decided I'm going to borrow that "Magical Thinking of Tidying Up" from the library because even with my declutter, I feel a lot of the time I'm just moving the stuff around. And on and on it goes. I love your channel Sophie, I always feel inspired to keep at it! Hope all turned out okay with your health issue and that something turns up with the job search. ~Dawne
Sophia you could try putting a 'hotspot' basket in every room and going round once a day and putting every thing that doesn't belong in that room in the basket. Then recruit your sons to help you put it all away. It takes 5 mins once a day and saves me a lot of time at the end of the week! xox
Thank you Sophia I really needed this video for motivation. My house is in terrible shape because I was sick for 3 weeks, then last weekend we went to visit our son. I need to clean the whole house tomorrow and I was really dreading it. I learned some new tips from you and perhaps if I time myself I'll move faster. Good luck with your scan, I hope you feel better soon.
Hope that you feel better soon and that your CT scan went well today. Love the cleaning videos and you clean so FAST. I couldn't even begin to clean that fast but good for you!!! Takes me forever to clean each room.
I hope you feel better soon x Your videos are great. Inspiring. I know how you feel. I am the only one cleaning too for family of 5. It is non stop but your videos cheer me up.
I love to watch you clean. I enjoy the fact that you have a good outlook on things that need to be done. I guess myself I love to clean it makes me feel so much better when it's done. Keep making more cleaning videos. See ya next time
Sorry to hear you have been unwell 😞 Best of luck on your exam & finding employment!! I just ADORE your videos, especially your cleaning videos 😀 They motivate me!! I LOVE the vinegar & dish soap combo, I use the Method dish soap brand for my bottle & swear by it! Sparkling!! I went & cleaned my kitchen after watching this video today - THANK YOU!
Hi Sophia I just love watching your cleaning videos a lot you motivate me to clean my house and all homes get dirty lol!! I'm glad u r feeling better!! I hope to see more soon!!
Well I just watched this on this English morning and yes, you have inspiried me, I will get this done before work this afternoon. I love you for keeping it real...now I am off to get busy..now where's my fast motion button?!
That's a whole lot of work Sophia with not feeling well... I was not feeling well a few weeks now too and my cleaning work has slowed down since then. This just got me back right in to it again (y) bless xxx Hope your ct scan goes fine, much love to feel better soon xxx
I clean everyday, no other way around it. i wash dishes as they get dirty along with pots and pans. I DON'T leave anything for "later" because then you feel like a tornado hit. Its clean as you go, of course when you're sick it changes...I have 2 children 5 & 3 a hubby and a dog. So Its busy! Throw trash away as soon as it becomes trash, everything in your home should have their own home, brushes, lotions everything! try to use items next to their "home" so you're most likely to put it right back. I deep clean once a week tubs, base boards, doors, walls, cabinets, door frames, dinning room chair legs and dusting ect...you must create a routine within your schedule. my kids will get disciplined if they do not pick up after themselves! hope i helped some =)
Prayers you feel better soon! Love watching you clean and you're doing it whilst sick. Poor you. :( I had to laugh when you said that about flat surfaces. I always look at hubby when he's filled every flat surface on the place and say, Every flat surface? I don't know if you tell yourself this but each and every time I clean like a maniac I swear to myself that i'll keep it picked up, dusted up and washed up a bit everyday so that I don't have to clean like that again. I tell myself lies! haha
Yes I did recognize Mr. George Dust Bunny! Love you are so real, nothing is more of a turn off then to start to watch a video about cleaning or organizing and there is nothing to clean or straighten....
I'm exhausted lol. Oh I love love love your cleaning videos. You definitely motivated me to clean....but you always do. Your house looks amazing. I love it. My dog tries to lick my dirty dishes also...drives me crazy lol. I wish I had your energy....or maybe just a smidge of it. You may have been cleaning but you still look beautiful. I'm praying you get well soon. God Bless.
Awww nooo, Hope you feel better very soon Sophia. I love your cleaning videos, yes it has made me want to start but its going to have to start on Monday when my house has less kids in it lol x
Your doggies have the same energy level as mine - zero! I often tell mine that if they were a "working dog" they would be fired. Clearly you are the one with all the energy! I hope your scan goes well and that you are on the mend soon. Thinking of you.
Sophia one little hint to help keep your four legged kids off the furniture is to keep a piece of tin foil on the area where you don't want them to be. I think the noise of the TF sends them away from that area. I love my dogs and they are very spoiled but they are not allowed on the furniture so I ended up buying a couple doggie beds for where they can lay. Thanks for all your videos and I hope all is well with your health :-)
Great Video Sophia. Your dogs are the sweetest! I hope your results are good. On the job scene, I am sure something will come along soon, perhaps when you least expect it. Have to go now, I have to clean. Thank you. Hugs XXX
Sophia I don't remember if you use the same concoction to clean your bathrooms? If you do please let me know. I'm going to make the same mixture. Thank you 😊👍🏼
PS. Forgot to say that I have used throws/sheets on soft furniture for years, which has kept our sofas in excellent condition - they are now at least 10 - 15 years old and have been through babies and numerous pets without a scratch! I just pull the covers off if we have more formal guests, but the rest of the time they look nice as they are - there are some lovely designs out there. Best Wishes.
My friend and I love your videos, last week we were at the mall and saw a women dressed very chic. She had your flair and hair. lol My friend and I both said at the same time " oh she looks like Sophia " Love your cleaning videos.
I hope ur CT scan goes well and everything is OK!! *crosses fingers. I may be weird but I love when the UA-camrs I follow do the fast forward cleaning.
Cute pup, is he a beagle? We have to beagle/lab mix. But, they look more like beagles. Can you use the bleach mixture on wood? The table looked wood that is why I asked. Any tips on how to get the grease off the wall behind the stove? Thanks.
I saw a comment on the boys' bathroom cleaning, but I have to say you really do look leaner. I know you responded with you're maintaining, but you look fantastic! :) I hope you're feeling better... still trying to catch up on videos here. :)
I do that type of clean every day it's exhausting. I really struggle to keep it clean.. I'm trying to teach my boys 2&4 to clean up after themselves with toys etc.. I think your kids should have a chore list and they get pocket money for every finished task.
Great video. With 4 boys, I certainly know what you mean with trying to keep it clean. It seems everyone else's house is spotless and mine is no where near. BTW, did you know you can put the sponge and brush in the dishwasher to get clean?
+Resourceful Mama I have done that especially for the brush. the sponge I usually put it in a bowl with water and a tad of bleach and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes.
OK, back again! Using washable throws on soft furniture, (there are some lovely ones available - even super king size sheets can do the trick and are very cheap), is an easy way to keep things fresh and clean - a daily shake and occasional wash is quicker than trying to clean stains, especially when you have kids and pets. Use the vacuum!! It's so much quicker to dust and clean all furniture and floors than separate dusting, polishing, sweeping and mopping! Unless you have babies crawling on the floor, there is no need to mop more than once or twice a month, and the same goes for polishing. Where did those two little cherubs go when they arrived home and vanished 'on high' - hopefully to spend 10-15mins on some of their own room tidying/cleaning??!! I know you are currently looking for work, so may not have a lot of cash to spare, but it's well worth spending a few dollars on a cleaner, (best way to find someone reputable is via friends/neighbours). They can do an hour or two a week of the heavy work to take the pressure off you - here in the UK they charge about £10-15 per hour (about $15-20), which in my opinion is better value for money than all the extra beauty products/treats in the world!! Anyway Sophia, I wish you well. I have to go now as my own housework beckons, but I will get back to you with my own cleaning schedule which you might find useful. I love your channel - so refreshing, honest and realistic, and you have beautiful décor! A bientot!
Our dog licks the dishes too. Have to watch her though or she will lick the clean ones too lol You have inspired me to get mine done Sophia. It will have to wait until the weekend though :(
OK honey, back again. As promised, a quick resume of my own cleaning regime which I think could help you, as it's very flexible. I am thinking of starting my own channel at some point, so maybe we could link up/collab in the future? Like you, I don't enjoy cleaning, so I can't cope with a schedule that requires certain days to be dedicated to cleaning tasks/zone cleaning etc. I have devised this system over many years and it works well, no matter whatever else is going on. First thing as I make morning coffee, I empty the dishwasher so it's ready to roll. I then put on a load of laundry - I have a laundry pre-sorter, which means there's no need to rummage and sort through dirty laundry baskets - all laundry goes in there. The family will soon get used to how it works and it's so much easier to cope with the odd thing in the wrong section than any other method. If you have people with similar sized socks, then attach zipped laundry bags so that they stay separate in the wash. A load a day keeps the laundry monster at bay - it only takes about 15 mins per day to load/unload/fold/put away. I only change one bed at a time, so this fits in with my laundry/morning routine. Next I spend a few minutes in each room doing a quick pick up/wipe down - this takes between 30 mins to an hour. After that, at some point during the day I spend 30 mins on a particular task - that could be vacuuming, or mopping, or dusting and polishing, or cleaning the kitchen or bathrooms, or de-clutter. I stick to one task and 30 mins only, and choose the task according to what is priority that day. I complete this regime most days, but on average about 5 times a week and my home is pretty clean and tidy. That's it. Nothing complicated, and the beauty is it's quick and flexible. A maximum of an hour and a half a day and it's done. If there's a problem and you skip a day or two, it won't matter because you are keeping up with a little each day - the tasks and times are so manageable you won't get behind.I should mention that I also do a routine tidy up at night, but this is very basic - only a few minutes. Hope this helps.
I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. Don't feel to bad about your house, all our homes get messy. A house that's been lived in is called a home! It's a good thing!! Have a great weekend Sophia and family!!
You are adorable. Genuine, witty, hard-working, and I love your accent and attitude. I look forward to seeing more of your cleaning videos.

Love all your videos Sophia you rock girl :)
Your house looks great! Thanks for sharing. Your dogs are adorable. Mine lick the dishes in the dishwasher too. :) I hope you're feeling better.
Always LOVE your videos!
are your counter tops granite?, They always have such a nice shine to them.
Great Video!!
Thank you for your videos, and you do motivate me to clean my own house, thank you again :-)
Have you seen the book The Magic Art of Tidying Up? I think you would enjoy that book.
Cute pup, is he a beagle? We have to beagle/lab mix. But, they look more like beagles. Can you use the bleach mixture on wood? The table looked wood that is why I asked. Any tips on how to get the grease off the wall behind the stove? Thanks.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Best of luck with the results. xo
This is a great and motivating video, but unfortunately it's 4 A.M. Oh well! LOL.
I saw a comment on the boys' bathroom cleaning, but I have to say you really do look leaner. I know you responded with you're maintaining, but you look fantastic! :) I hope you're feeling better... still trying to catch up on videos here. :)
CutTheFat I am just maintaining my weight loss, still 162.5
I do that type of clean every day it's exhausting. I really struggle to keep it clean.. I'm trying to teach my boys 2&4 to clean up after themselves with toys etc.. I think your kids should have a chore list and they get pocket money for every finished task.
I love your cleaning videos.
Here's hoping you feel better soon.
Looks nice!
You are so Awesome! Thank you@
Get Well Quickly My Friend!!
A bientot!
Lovely home !!!!
+Mireya Perez THank you
Best of luck and good fortune on your job search Sophia. You deseve only the best.
Our dog licks the dishes too. Have to watch her though or she will lick the clean ones too lol You have inspired me to get mine done Sophia. It will have to wait until the weekend though :(
Great Job!!!
DITL , what does this mean? We also have pets so I do not use bleach in my spray bottle. Did you use just Dawn and vinegar with water?
Oh yea feel better soon!
love your videos but like someone else said don't mix bleach and vinegar!!!!! I learned it the hard way too and I got very sick!
