Singer Paul Rodgers went on to form the very successful Bad Company. Their hit songs include, “Can’t Get Enough”, “Feel Like Making Love”, “Bad Company”, “Ready For Love”, “Burning Sky”, “Shooting Star” and “Rock and Roll Fantasy”.
One of the great rock classics of the 70's. This is a banger and a song of many vibes. Lead singer Paul Rogers has one cool voice. My Brother Jake another one of their classics.
Free was a very bluesy rock band Paul Rogers. Vocals Simon Kirk. Drums Andy Frazer Bass Paul Kossoff. Guitarist They influenced many bands and musicians over the years With Paul Rogers soulful vocals - in fact he’s call the voice , Andy Frazer awesome thumping bass lines , Paul Kossoff great guitar play and Simon Kirk was a huge drumming influence on a particular goofy teen from the SF Bay Area
Lead singer Paul Rogers is considered to be one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. After Free, he created the iconic band, Bad Company who had many hits.
This is my earliest memory of a song being played from my brother's room with the windows opened in the attic back in the Bronx. Good times. You can bet the neighbors, the projects, and people on the #1 subway could hear it.
I love Paul Rodgers and I love this song. Also love all his songs with Bad Company, he is fantastic and so classic. Never gets old. MUST HAVE Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" on your channel. So classic.
Great classic, fell in love with Paul Rogers' style right away. I was just a kid when this was released but it played on the airwaves throughout my teens and 20's, it was THAT classic from the start.
This is such a great song! I was in 8th grade when it dropped. I was a drummer/pianist at the time. LOVE at1st listen. Paul Rogers is amazing!! Have you heard Bad Co.? They have some very good tunes. I saw them live in 1977 ❤
When this came out, went and got the record and wore it out! Paul’s voice is amazing! He never gets the credit he deserves. Check out him and Jimmy Page in THE FIRM. Great music! ☮️❤️🎼😎
Along with Andy Fraser (bass, keys) and Simon Kirke (drums) comprising one of the tightest rhythm sections of their day. Kirke is quite under appreciated, in my view anyway 😊
An all-time classic which can be a little repetitive towards the end but they added so much good stuff there that it's hard to criticize it. The great vocals, simple, good-sounding drums, very nice bass and a hard riff (well, back then it was) with gooooood solo there. Dave Murray, the guitar player from Iron Maiden is a massive fan of this band and was heavily inspired by them to learn how to play in the '70s. It's never been my favourite song but it's one of the milestones in the history of rock and it's very likeable. For anyone having a "trip playlist" this is a must-have.
Bought it when it first came out. Played it till the stylus went blunt. Get chills every time I hear it. Paul Rodger’s best rock/blues voice ever, and still performing.
This makes me smile. I have happy memories of being a little kid getting in the car for school carpool, and this comes on the radio. PAUL RODGERS! It's a classic rock song. I love your smile, Nick! "We need to do the thing." "Want to get one in." You guys crack me up!
This may be the only Free song I'm familiar with. I like it a lot, so not sure why I never delved into more of their music. Stellar guitar. Simple but very effective. Nice choice, Nick.
Would love to see a double shot reaction to Mr. Big by Free and then the version of Mr. Big as covered by Gov't Mule, which is equally as good. Fantastic Song!
This song gave me the chance to mention an almost forgotten great track: Stone Cold Sober by Crawler. Crawler was formed after the death of Paul Kossoff of Back Street Crawler.
Grew up during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s so of course I’m partial to the music of these decades. Damn it was fun! Keg parties in the boonies, bonfires, and multiple people had battery operated radios then the boom boxes came along😂. We were in heaven!✌🏻😂🤘🏻
Y'all crack me up with your football analogies. 😂 I'm so glad you did this absolute classic Hard Rock track. Paul Rodgers really got funky here with his vocals; typically they're more of the straight ahead Hard Rock variety, but that man really displays some major soul here. For a totally different type of Free song (but also very good), check out "Wishing Well." (Then afterwards also check out "Wishing Well, by the artist formerly known as Terence Trent D'Arby, now Sananda Maitreya.) You guys should also check out Paul Rodgers' following (and even better) band, Bad Company, starting with - what else? - the song "Bad Company." 😊
Time for more Steely Dan. Try title track "Royal Scam" or Haitian Divorce, also from Royal Scam. Take a deep breath and dive in. Fun to watch you learn like I did many years ago.
Organic really is the perfect word to describe it, Nick. The song was instrumental, (if you pardon the pun), in influencing hard rock-blues groups to come, like Paul Rodgers' (own) very popular Bad Company, ("Feel Like Makin' Love", "Bad Company", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", just to name a few songs), and Foghat, (best known for "Slow Ride" and "Fool for the City"). You can even hear Free's influence in Foreigner. Regarding Rodgers' vocals, he was highly thought of, and before he formed Bad Company, he was asked to join Deep Purple when vocalist Ian Gillian left, as well as the Doors, after Jim Morrison died. Even Freddie Mercury was a fan of him, and Rodgers has collabed with Queen after Freddie's death. Pretty much the ultimate compliment.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a complete joke! That ain't opinion, it's a fact. My proof? Paul Rodgers isn't in it. Not with Free and amazingly not even with Bad Co. A total disgrace that the RRHOF will never live down. Not to mention that it took 14 years to induct the band that invented "Prog Metal", Rush. And that was far from the first clue that the RRHOF was not a serious endeavor. It might've started out with all good intents but that seems to have soured in recent years.
I think Paul Rodgers is arguably the greatest rock and roll voice of all time. Followed closely by Steve marriott. How he's not in the rrhof is beyond me.
Paul Rodgers….Rock and Roll legend. Thank you guys
This was a hip song that once you heard it you never forget it. You know it's Paul Rodgers as soon as he opens his mouth.
One of the greatest rock singers of all time

Bad Company is my absolute favorite!
Oh, I didn’t know that!!
And he also was in The Firm with the great Jimmy Page... 🙂 Remember their 1985 hit "Radioactive"?
Rodgers & the drummer Simon Kirke. It was a supergroup with bassist Boz Burrell from King Crimson and guitarist Mick Ralphs from Mott The Hoople.
@@gesundheit602 Sure do
Can’t get much more classic rock than this one 🤘🏼
One of the best rock songs EVER. Banger.

An all-time, grungy, true rock classic. Sounds as good now as it did when I was a kid of 7 in 1970.
This is a great song, very popular in the 70's.
Rock doesn’t get any more classic than this song! ✌️❤️🤘
Edit: Paul Rogers was the singer. He moved on to Bad Company.
Lead singer Paul Rogers is considered to be one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. After Free, he created the iconic band, Bad Company who had many hits.
So great to be around back then!
This is my earliest memory of a song being played from my brother's room with the windows opened in the attic back in the Bronx. Good times. You can bet the neighbors, the projects, and people on the #1 subway could hear it.
The two Pauls. Paul Carrack and Paul Rogers sang on many different bands. Their voices are distinct.
I remember skating to this song at the Blue Lick skating rink. (Sadly, it's not there anymore...)
FIRE-BANGER!!! :) Ryan got here as FAST AS HE COULD!! GLAD he was introduced to THIS COOL GEM!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh yeah! Takes me back to my teens, and watching the clip on Saturday morning music on tv here in Australia 🤘
There’s fabulous video of them performing this!
This is a great classic. I grew up with this fantastic music. 🎶🎶🎶
I love Paul Rodgers and I love this song. Also love all his songs with Bad Company, he is fantastic and so classic. Never gets old. MUST HAVE Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" on your channel. So classic.

I feel good after hearing it

Paul Rodgers! Free and Bad Company..two of the best!!❤❤❤…..those first rifts brought everyone to the dance floor.
Great song! Doesn’t get old🔥
When this came out, went and got the record and wore it out! Paul’s voice is amazing! He never gets the credit he deserves. Check out him and Jimmy Page in THE FIRM. Great music!
☮️❤️🎼😎
So many people are forgetting what a major contribution Paul Kossof's guitar playing was to this song and to the band in general!!
Along with Andy Fraser (bass, keys) and Simon Kirke (drums) comprising one of the tightest rhythm sections of their day. Kirke is quite under appreciated, in my view anyway 😊

Paul Rodgers could sing the dictionary and I would listen.
Paul Rogers was the lead singer, and when this band broke up, he went to Bad Company
I said hey hey, all right now baby it’s alright now. Reminds me of the boardwalk in NJ in the 70’s.
Bought it when it first came out. Played it till the stylus went blunt. Get chills every time I hear it. Paul Rodger’s best rock/blues voice ever, and still performing.
Great song!

Their song, Oh I Wept from this same album, is even better imo.
Paul Kossoff on lead RIP
Doesn't this seem like a perfect song for movies like "Dazed and Confused" and "Almost Famous"?
Don't overthink this song...sometimes a cigar is just a cigar!
This may be the only Free song I'm familiar with. I like it a lot, so not sure why I never delved into more of their music. Stellar guitar. Simple but very effective. Nice choice, Nick.

Classic cut!
One of my faves 💯💜
Paul Rodgers also went on to cofound The Firm with Jimmy page in early 80s,they had a few hits
This song gave me the chance to mention an almost forgotten great track: Stone Cold Sober by Crawler. Crawler was formed after the death of Paul Kossoff of Back Street Crawler.
Explore Bad Company. ANY song by Bad Company in the early years.
I highly recommend 'Oh I Wept' from the same album. Absolutely stunning.
The Hunter, Wishing Well
Goodness knows how many times I've heard this but it always sounds better every time. Paul Rodgers voice is just so good.
🤘🏽If some Gen Alpha kid used “All Right Now” in a Tiktok and it went viral, this classic bop would have a resurgence.✌🏽
Ready for "Wishing Well" or "Heartbreaker" (my favorite from them).
They had a sound close to Humble Pie. This song makes me think of 30 Days in the Hole.
Agree. Paul Rodgers and Steve marriott have the best voices in rock and roll
Saying it to just get some, then he falls in love!
Paul Roger’s, awesome vocalist! Bad Co, took him to a higher level of stardom! Play Silver, blue and gold! Or, Superstar!
It's a rough, edgy song in a Steely Dan format.
Y'all crack me up with your football analogies. 😂 I'm so glad you did this absolute classic Hard Rock track. Paul Rodgers really got funky here with his vocals; typically they're more of the straight ahead Hard Rock variety, but that man really displays some major soul here.

My favorite version of "Wishing Well" was done by Blackfoot.
Time for more Steely Dan. Try title track "Royal Scam" or Haitian Divorce, also from Royal Scam. Take a deep breath and dive in. Fun to watch you learn like I did many years ago.
Now react to Ready For Love by Bad Company and the same lead singer Paul. It is 🔥🔥🔥
🔥

Lets gooo ! 1 in the mourning in Portugal, love your reacts !
Oh bull crap! It is the driving beat and his raw voice. Add a little nasty to it. Instant hit!
Fun song!!🤘🔥
You should have watched the live version.
If you hear someone yelling at you later, it's me because I will have this song stuck in my head!
Request spin doctors two princess band

Yes! The party song, alwaus jad to be on the list🎼🎵
Paul Rodgers when he was a Baby Boy!
He has an unmistakable voice. Bad Company’s voice too.
I think Paul Rodgers is arguably the greatest rock and roll voice of all time. Followed closely by Steve marriott. How he's not in the rrhof is beyond me.
Pity you didn't do the isle of wight clip .
